My family has vacationed in the area the past 3 years, and I make a yearly trip to Klig's to buy a kite and grow my collection. This year I was flying the first kite I'd bought from Klig's, and it took a nosedive over a neighboring house and landed in a tree. When I retrieved it, one of the plastic pieces had popped out of place. I took it to the store yesterday and asked if anyone could help with repair. I thought it was worth a shot. I left the kite in their care and expected to hear from someone today. Actually, I was called just 2-3 hours after I'd left the kite and was told that it was fixed. When I got back to the store, I was told there was no charge for the repair.That is excellent customer service! read more

Went here on Friday July 21st 2023, in the front of the store, we spotted license plates and surfboards with my name Jacqueline on them. I was so happy to find a surfboard finally in a store! Paid with cash, and went on my merry way. My aunt and parents also looked in this store. Fair warning they do have lots of political stuff in here, so avoid if it's not your cup of tea. it is a big store though with lots of selection of garden stuff, and kites of course. For me, just happy to find a surfboard with my name on it, as i hang them up in my room in the camper we bring on vacation with us! read more

This place is one of our first stops every time we come to Myrtle Beach! Even if our kites from vacations before are still in great condition! When my husband and I had our first beach trip together, he introduced me to his love of flying kites at the beach. At the time, I thought he was a huge dork, but figured I would try it anyway. Now, flying kites is one of my favorite activities to do during vacation and it wouldn't be possible without Klig's! They have the best quality kites and have kites for every level of flyer! My kids got their first kites here, and my husband and I get our stunt kites here when our old ones are finally worn, which takes several years. The title of the story is misleading as most of the stuff is tourist trap junk, cheap pranks like fart machines is about the speed of this place. It's a hard pass. I've been to a lot of places in my lifetime but when it comes to Kite stores they are few and far between, to find a really good one takes some exploring and a lot of travel. That being said this is the best kite shop I've been to in the past 35 years, it has been around since I was a little kid and I can fondly remember stopping by on every visit to Myrtle Beach. I would always get my Father to stop by the shop to get a new kite on every visit. I would always ooh and ah at the really nice expensive elaborate kites they have but my Dad would only let me get the cheaper ones. Don't let that fool you though, their cheaper kites are top of the line in most toy shops. They have such a wide range for every budget too. As an adult I am able to purchase the mid range quality now and that being said I'm still no kite flying expert. Not to worry though because the customer service here is fantastic and they are more than ready to answer any questions you might have or give you a tutorial about using your kite correctly, they can show you techniques and even help you assemble your kite. If you're looking to spend a lot of time on the beach then definitely stop by here and grab a kite for yourself or children, it's so much fun and something the whole family can enjoy and participate in. read more

Don't buy anything unless you are sure. Their website said they have a 30 day return but not at this store. I bought something that didn't work unless I spend more to make it work, which they don't sale. When the owner dude told me he didn't sale the piece to make it work, I was like wtf! He got mad cause I said a curse word (not directly to him). then he said "I'm done with you!" had a temper tantrum baby fit and threw my item on the floor and broke it! Great kite selection. If you are a serious kite person they have upscale kites, if you are moderate, novice, whatever you are they have a kite and price that will fit your needs. There is a guy who stands outside with the buck teeth, butt prop, squirt camera, dog on a leg, whoopi cushion, etc gags all over and he is a fun experience as is. The place is very small (like most of the shops) and the staff inside is hit or miss when it comes to help. It really is a great shop for kites and gadgets, flags, and everything else you can think of. It will make you laugh like a little kid. I would recommend going. read more

This is a wonderful store, full of fun, bright colors, and lots of moving objects! This store used to be in Barefoot Landing, and was the highlight of our Myrtle Beach trips every year. They're now located across Rt. 17, and a little further north, but we still love the store. There are so many awesome kites, spinners, wind socks, flags, and toys, it's hard to focus on any one thing. They carry every piece of hardware and accessories for these, and staff is very helpful with questions & suggestions. We love Klig's Kites! read more

This place should be called Klig's Junk Store instead of Klig's Kite shop. This place has more flags and junk in it than they have kites. The staff here was not helpful at all and were not knowledgeable of the kites that they sold. I was looking for a beginner kite for my son to fly on the beach. Walking throughout the store they had a total of 25 kites with the majority in the price range of $90 or more. read more

Great Customer Service! Long story short,... I ordered a butterfly kite for my girl friend, months ago, and just received it, and couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase. Short story long,... The day after I ordered the kite, Klig immediately alerted me that it was on back order from the manufacture, and offered me the option of ordering another kite, giving me my money back, or waiting a couple months for the one I wanted. I told them I wanted to wait for it, because I only wanted that one specific kite. Two months later, they contact me, and give me the straight news, the manufacture hadn't come through (to no fault of Klig), and they offered to give me my money back, or let me wait longer. Now, it bears repeating that Klig contacted ME, before I had to contact them. That almost never happens these days in customer service. Also, they continued to keep me updated with the status of my order, and offered me several options on how I wanted to proceed. That never happens. Anyway, I told them I was willing to wait, and then Klig told me that the manufacture was going to send me another butterfly kite free for my inconvenience, which I received. Got it. Bonus. Then one day, months later, I got the email,... "The kite is in, and it's on it's way to you". Sure enough, it was on my door step the next day, today. Going to fly it this weekend. Can't wait. UPDATE: Today (1/6/15), I received a refund from Klig's Kites for my shipping charges of $9.00 plus $2.00 of my purchase price (total refund $11.00) - not the 50% refund I had asked for but something at least. I haven't received a response nor an apology from the company, so my review stands as is, and I will never patronize them again. However, I did want to point out that they did at least refund the shipping fee. read more

Great people! I left my wallet on the counter and an employee found a phone number in it, called my son back in Ohio, who forwarded the staff's number to me, and the gentleman DELIVERED my wallet to my hotel. AND refused a tip! It is so, so gratifying to see kindness in action. Klig's hires some terrific people who go the extra mile (literally) for their customers. was at the store on my yearly vacation looking for a steeler flag. rick the owner said he had none in stock and could get one in for me. he gave me his business card and said to call him later that week and if i wanted it that he would ship it to me for no charge.he quoted me 39.00$ i called him a week later and he had it and said he would ship it to me. he took my credit card info and address. he confirmed that it was 39.00$ at the time of credit card payment. i checked my credit card statement a few days later and he charged me 49.99 not 39.00 like he said. i have e mailed him and got no response. wont ever do business with this guy again ever so you all beware of their dont give a crap attitude. read more
