Definitely the best kiteboarding shop in charleston. I was a fan of Oli Nah and I liked Air as well in charleston when they existed, since they both closed and Force opened I've been going to Force and have been very impressed. They have great deals on super high equipment, and only high quality products. All the guys and gals in the shop are great to work with as well and they do a lot to support the local kiting community. I have done a few lesson and I have to say their lessons on the jet ski are well worth it. You will learn much more, faster with a jet ski to pull you back into position when you need it. If you get lessons, ask for JP! Start to finish, Force Kite and Wake exceeded all of my expectations. I came to Myrtle Beach, SC for vacation and wanted to take a kiteboarding lesson. Unfortunately, the only option in Myrtle Beach wasn't viable. I took the chance and purchased a 3 hour private lesson over the phone. Not only was my appointment scheduled within minutes, but the staff were flexible, knowledgeable, and seemed genuinely interested in answering my questions. In addition, they openly acknowledged that they would be flexible if I needed to reschedule or if I needed a refund due to the weather not cooperating. The lesson itself was easily worth the money I spent, and the four hour detour (2 hours there, 2 hours back). My instructor was JP. He had a positive attitude that was contagious. In addition, all of his instruction was delivered in a way that never made me feel bad about making a mistake (and I made plenty). With his instruction, I was able to learn the basics and figure out enough to start learning a bit on my own to improve my riding. One 3 hour lesson and I got up on the board and riding short distances. I had such a great time, I convinced my family to stay in Charleston or Mt. Pleasant instead of Myrtle Beach on our next beach vacation. I'll definitely be back to work on my board skills. read more

I've been kiting in Charleston for 10 years now, and a few shops have come and gone, but the guys at Force are top notch. They are well-staffed and stocked with gear, and willing to expand to other areas (foiling, electric skateboards, etc.). There's a lot of options online to find gear used, etc. but having a go-to local shop is essential in a sport like kiteboarding, especially if you are looking to get into the sport. read more

As a newcomer to Charleston, SC and to kiteboarding, saying "the staff and owner of Force will take care of you" does not give them enough credit. Stan, Ed, JP, and Noel have done everything to accommodate my interest in the sport and my lower budget. The lessons are worth every penny (and a hell of a good time for anyone wanting to start), but the big value comes from their ability to equip any type of rider regardless of experience level and bank account. After living and working at world class ski resorts in Colorado, it is tough for me to name another shop that makes you feel more at home with a hobby or sport than these guys. If you are hesitant on purchasing any used gear, don't be. Force is very thorough in its inspection of any gear, and very picky on what they sell to their clients! That being said, Stan and Ed still gave me a generous amount of credit on used gear that I "inherited" along with discounts to beat any other competitive price. Having the ability to the upgrade to different equipment to fit your style over time with this level of ease is invaluable for locals and online shoppers. The location of the store is also ideal for anyone in the Charleston area as it is located on the way to the beach. Stopping by for last minute tips, gear, or just general knowledge of the kiteboarding community has been convenient and welcoming. read more

Just wanted to get on here really quick and leave a review about this EPIC company. First off, I'm not big in writing reviews, in fact, this might be the first one i've ever written to be honest. But, I felt the need to get on here and make it happen. Great customer service still exits, and this company is a prime example of that. I recently purchased a new kiteboard bar and lines for an existing kite of mine, but shortly after realized I wanted to purchase a different brand. Long story short, this company was super easy with returning my item, but also price matched a completely new set up for me AND more. Super professional, outstanding customer service, and just all around awesome people to chop it up with. HIGHLY recommend this company. I found a vest that I wanted on Force Kite and Wake's website. I had some questions so I called the shop. I wasn't sure if they would be open due to Covid so when there was no answer I wasn't that surprised. I IMMEDIATELY got a returned phone call from Stan saying that he apologized for missing my call and asked how he could help me. I was blown away. We talked about this particular vest and I got it ordered off the website. I received it in just a few days half the country away. It was a clearance item but happened to be the wrong style of vest. I assumed it would not be returnable but I called anyway. Stan answered, remembered our conversation, talked me through a few different options, and minutes later my new new vest is already on the way. He allowed me to send the original one back, he covered the shipping, and is not making me wait to receive the original before getting me what I needed. I am a sales trainer in Kansas City, MO so when I say that it takes a lot to impress me with customer service, I mean it. I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS about Stan and the service I received. I HIGHLY recommend checking them out in person and online.
