He was knowledgeable on the skim boards and sized up the right board to my granddaughters height and weight. I spent more than I wanted too , but getting a better skim board meant better success. She skim boarded on our last vacation together in the Outer Banks. She went out everyday and eventually learned how to skim board. My reasoning for getting her a good one. Back to Bert's , easy access to, plenty of parking, anything you want in surfing , skateboarding , swim wear, accessories and more are here. Staff was also super friendly and helpful :) There are a variety of rentals to choose from, not just surf boards. They have skim boards, paddle boards, bikes and even wet suits! All at a reasonable price. Me and my husband rented a skim board one day, which was $20 for 24hrs and a surf board the next, which was $25 for 24 hours. Inside the store you will find a variety of clothing, shoes, sandals, sunglasses, bags and my favorite....carver decks for all the long boarders out there. Private surf lessons are available, along with paddle board tours and lessons. Overall this a great place to check out whether you are a beginner or expert and looking for a good place to rent while on vacation. Also a nice place to visit if are in the market for some cute beachwear or a new set of flip flops!

On the beach, it is firm and hard packed. Quite a lot of shells and pretty rocks to keep the kids occupied, the shallow water extends a good bit into the surf. There were quite a few free places to park, and the beaches were free(still are). We ended coming down every yeat, and purchased a home in Barefoot Resorts because they had a beach cabana with free parking. The free parking is a rare find these days, but I we were able to buy a parking sticker. We purchased a new home in Little River (just up the street} in 2023. We were not able to buy a parking permit for this year because of the very limited supply available to out-of-towners. No breaks or allowances for war veterans, no free parking anywhere we can find--let alone finding one with a restroom. We visited the beach a couple times a week because I had developed a skin disorder from agent orange, and sitting in that warm salty water was a free treatment. I will be able to get free parking if my condition gets worse and go on total disability, but probably won't be in good enough shape by then to enjoy the beach, and I am already in my seventies. I just wanted to put this information out there--because I know I'm not the only one who lives in the area with the same issue. I would have to go out of the country to find a beach I ever enjoyed more than the Beach from Myrtle Beach up to Cherry Grove. Is there anyplace in the area with free parking for war veterans?

He was able to connect with the kids, the skateboard lovers and anybody that's willing to have an open mind to hear the knowledges that he spits. I'm a quad roller skate gal.. And my son loves skateboard. So shops like these, catches our attention. But It seem as tho no one in Charlotte NC can get him to look forward to come back to the shop like this dude.. He showed us all the new gears. What's good for skaters. What's works, the don't and what he prefer to wear or buy.. Then he introduced us to the sale items.. I left my son to shop as he pleases within a budget. It's nice to come to a shop that have staffs who is knowledgeable, in tune with the products they offers and provide great customer service.
