Though it has gone through many manifestations, states of cleanliness (haha) and at one point was not super clean--I will attest that the shop is presently the cleanest, diverse and well kept I've ever seen it. The shop is brighter, more open, all spaces clean and uncluttered; plus, a wider array of apparel snd goods for women. As always, I do wish they had some better prices, yet, you are paying for unique and one of a kind stuff here. Not to mention, one of the best places for your board buying and rental needs on The Grand Strand. Check it out. Well worth a look off the beaten path (just watch out for congested traffic on Atlantic Ave).

I called and let one of the employees know. He said the owner would call back and make it right. I never got a phone call. I returned today to show them the sweatshirts. The thread was coming out of the sleeves. The cashier told me they were falling apart around the collar too. I spoke to that same cashier and she told me to wait for the owner and to look around. She went on to show another customer every hanging t-shirt in the shop. I approached her a second time and asked if I could just talk to the owner who was standing right there. She explained the dilemma and he looked at me and said "we don't carry that anymore". I said ok I was told I'd get a call back. I spend money in here all the time. I want you to see your product. He then said "do you want me to send you one when they come in?" You're gonna send me a hoody that you're no longer keeping in stock? I said, no thank you I am not trying to reinvent the wheel here but you should know what your product looks like. Ripped after one wear. The owner is not interested in making it right. Make your own judgement as to whether or not you want to spend your money here. I'm good.

Staff was also super friendly and helpful :) There are a variety of rentals to choose from, not just surf boards. They have skim boards, paddle boards, bikes and even wet suits! All at a reasonable price. Me and my husband rented a skim board one day, which was $20 for 24hrs and a surf board the next, which was $25 for 24 hours. Inside the store you will find a variety of clothing, shoes, sandals, sunglasses, bags and my favorite....carver decks for all the long boarders out there. Private surf lessons are available, along with paddle board tours and lessons. Overall this a great place to check out whether you are a beginner or expert and looking for a good place to rent while on vacation. Although I was very seriously thinking on getting a new surf board, I held myself back and purchased a skim board for my granddaughter. Logan was great in assisting us in finding the right board. He was knowledgeable on the skim boards and sized up the right board to my granddaughters height and weight. I spent more than I wanted too , but getting a better skim board meant better success. She skim boarded on our last vacation together in the Outer Banks. She went out everyday and eventually learned how to skim board. My reasoning for getting her a good one. Back to Bert's , easy access to, plenty of parking, anything you want in surfing , skateboarding , swim wear, accessories and more are here.
