I loooove Dr. Vasquez. He is so humble and down to earth. In 2018 he helped me like he was an assistant and help me with new frames. I was going to get my typical gold frames but he said gold has nothing for my face. He showed me these black frames and I was immediately like... No. I just always did gold because I wanted my glasses to blend it in my face. He said he beg to differ and said that a face like mine could handle black frames. So... I conceded and purchase the black frames. Literally every single person I came across will compliment me on those frames even until today. I was due for new frames and he wanted to go even bolder and... I just trusted his opinion. I had a whole different shape I never had before and they work! Poor customer service. Currently waiting over 3 weeks for glasses with no official date of delivery. No sense of urgency to update the customer on delays. Was only notified of delays when calling to get an update from the previous update given. Currently still waiting for glasses to be delivered After being reached by the Social Media Specialist. Still relayed more of the same information. Lenses needed to be remade but no exact date as to when or communicated as to why. Offered $20 on the next purchase. Order was made April 4th, was expected delivery for May 5th. I do not recommend their service read more

I went with my mom to our scheduled annual eye exam at My Eye Dr, and I must say, the process was smooth and efficient. After about seven business days, we received a notification that our glasses were ready for pickup. We truly appreciate the care and attention from the doctor and assistants. Horrible billing experience - paid $800 for 1 pair of glasses. Received an invoice a month later for an additional $176 dollars. Called customer service immediately and they escalated it internally. Received same bill the next month, I called again and they escalated internally. The third month another bill received and on this call I was told there is nothing they can do. After 10 years of going to MyEyeDr and purchasing over 14 pairs of glasses, I won't ever be giving them my business again! read more

The two reasons I went to MyEyeDr. They were close and they accepted my insurance I was a little concerned when I walked in the door very upscale screamed expensive they didn't disappoint the cheapest frames I chose were $130.00 same frame that would be $65.00 at Americas best there were fees tacked on that I hadn't seen before in my 63 years of wearing glasses I did flinch insurance would take care of that after a week I received my glasses the optics were incorrect and the bifocals were to high the is where the bate and switch happened they said the frames were to small to accommodate the bifocal to be any lower I need to get a large size frame did I say I've been wearing glasses for 63 years I've had frames that size on many occasions no problem i told them I wasn't going to argue these points I have the years of experience not my first rodeo I told them give me my money back I'm not playing your game don't piss down my leg and tell me it's raining if this business closed we would all be better off read more

03/13/2025. The worst experience, I won't give them a one star but I am forced to give one. I started with Dr. Ripley, the ultimate professional, and the staff reflected her energy. When she retired, the standard continued with Dr. Valquez and Dr. Tran. They cared and had personality. My conversations with Dr. Valquez and Dr. Tran were more than just about being patient. They gave me quality service along with quality care. That is why I stayed with them over the years. Thursday, 03/14/2025: unknown to me, my two favorite ophthalmologists were no longer there. I thought Dr. Lad and her team would continue the standard. NOT AT ALL! What happened after Dr. Valquez and Dr. Tran left the practice? The quality of service and care fell off. The rudeness, lack of professionalism, and attitude are on full display. This current staff needs an eye exam and take a look at themselves. read more

very misleading . I called ahead of time to check contact exam coverage was told that it was covered . asked again when I checked in for My appointment . Just to get to the end of the exam and was told my total was 279. I asked why if it's covered by insurance when I called yesterday and asked before exam . was rudely told it wasn't covered and take the contact out . then the Hispanic guy was trying very hard to make me get eyeglasses special when I told them I specially came for contact lenses . the guy got an attitude and told me nobody told me it was covered . i told him who I spoke with and what was said. it was a total waste of time and money . alot of hidden fees and dishonesty. then had to the nerve to ask if I was going to come back for the prescriptions. not at all I told them I don't spend money with people who are liars and rude. never again. read more

After several years using Dr. Rippey and Dr. Velazquez for our family with good results I'll no longer be able to patronize nor recommend their services.  We had the absolute worst experience with the sales/front desk staff this week.  They didn't even offer or discuss the option of one getting glasses in addition to contacts for my daughter.  They didn't have the time or inclination to follow-up for ordering glasses/contacts when I asked for one. Two separate associates advised they are too busy to call me and place the orders which clearly indicated they did not want or value our business.   After arriving home I noticed there were difference in children's Rx (with one including PD and another not). I called to inquire why there would be a difference as all previous prescriptions we'd gotten at least 10 over the past several years included PD.   I was advised they didn't take it since she had an exam for contacts and didn't need it.  When I wanted more information because it historically was included I was hung up on by the staff.  Sadly the staff was extremely rude and unprofessional not at all in line with that of the Dr. read more

I took my kids here for their first ever optometrist appointment. They were seen by Dr. Velazquez. He along with his entire staff was amazing. They all were extremely patient with the kids. My youngest was terrified of getting eye drops (needed for a test). The staff made him feel very comfortable and after finding out he loves Oreos, one kind soul went to get him some as a bribe! In the end, he still refused to get the eye drops, but the staff did try their best, and I appreciate it. I'd say the only negative thing is when I called to make the appointment and make sure they accepted our insurance, the receptionist said she wasn't sure. I booked the appointment anyway in hopes The Vision Source was in network, and I wouldn't have to pay an insane amount of money for the exams. Thankfully, it was at no cost. read more

Dr. Ramirez is one of the worst optometrists if not the worst I have been to! Just when the eye examination was over it felt like she was rushing me out the door and didn't have time for any of my questions and any of my concerns and was just trying to get the "job" done! This was my first time at myEyedr and my last time I will never go this place ever again. I only went to this location because it was a TSO with superior service to this establishment. I know I am not the only one who misses TSO. I hope they enjoy my and my insurance money because it will be the only they will ever steal from me or my insurance ever again! read more

I was examined by Dr Jonathan Tran. He is there M W F. He did a full diabetic eye exam that was complete, and thorough. He did an excellent job, and fully explained my diabetic condition. I would highly recommend him. read more

I scheduled a same-day appointment at Northline for a (first-time contact wearer) vision exam and it was simply amazing! The staff who administered my exam were very professional and super friendly! They consistently checked in to make sure I was comfortable with all things that were done and that I understood everything going on with my eyes. The technician who helped me learn how to put my contacts in made the entire experience stress free! I went into the store on Voss and San Felipe to inquire about frames and to look at them. There was a sign on the door " Be back at 3:00". It was after 4:00, not sure why the sign was there. I asked if there were any clear glass frames. The person behind the desk said something but I couldn't hear her. Instead of her rising up to greet me, she was sitting there mumbling something. I came closer to hear and she said I would need to give her my ID. To look at frames? I'm not even trying them on, merely wanting to see if there were any clear frames so that I could bring my grand daughter in to try them on. I felt this was very strange and left immediately. It made me wonder if this is a store front for other clandestine business. If this truly is a store, there must be customer service training. The customer should be greeted at very minimum and help rendered for whatever brought the person into the store. We will take our business to the Eyeglass Gallery! read more

You cannot go wrong when you go here. I've now had 2 doctors here and they have both been fabulous. Today I met with Dr. Rippey, who owns the practice, and she was very thorough. She made sure I understood everything, made me very comfortable and talked with my like I was a real person- not just another patient that she had to see before she was done for the day. The Doctors are amazing no doubt for eg, but if your appointment is at 10 am you'll end up seeing the doctor at 11 am. As for the eye glasses Warranty, do ask what's covered bc I had a bad experience recently. I ordered and bought my bi-focals for $320, in October 2018. Today, the loop around one of the screws that holds one of the temples broke, I took it back to them today they wanted to give me a number for an eyeglass repair shop, and pay more to repair, and then my other option to call the manufacturer. I couldn't find who it was, I called them back and they had to call me back to give me an email for the manufacturer. I am very disappointed. They just lost me as a customer as well as my 2 kids . read more

I arrived early, I counted five employees in the back area, after waiting 20 minutes, I inquired about my appointment, was never acknowledged, and walked out. All I have to say is EXPENSIVE! Not the greatest of customer service and the only real reason I come here is because they are one of the few places that offer Lindberg frames. I understand the manufacturing of the glasses can be expensive but they sweet talk you when buying your glasses but after receiving them they no longer seem like they know what they are talking about when you ask them to adjust them because they don't fit right. They aren't very detailed in what they do because having a pair of glasses fit right is about precision and comfort and they should know better. the glasses that were brand new was poorly fitted which we asked to re-adjust which required adjusting the bridge so that they evenly fitted the lens they still came out lopsided. They came out exactly the same and didn't offer to take it back to the shop or anything so we ended up with lopsided glasses. Disappointment for such a pair of expensive glasses even after with insurance cost us nearly $700 and it's not fitted right. Definitely won't be back. read more

I called this afternoon to get a pair of Serengeti sunglasses repaired - I need the arms replaced. Unfortunately they are no longer a Serengeti dealer so they are unable to replace the arms with what I currently have. However their Technician Chris was incredibly helpful, very personable, and very enjoyable to talk to. Since they are no longer a Serengeti dealer I would need to go in and have them look at my glasses to replace with something similar. I live in Austin so I am over 3 hours away. I wish I lived closer so I could stop by and meet Chris in person and give them my business! read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Rachel Rippey for over 8 years now. I live in Baton Rouge now but when I go back to Houston to visit family I always schedule my appointment with her. She is so personable, remembers you during your annual visit, and knows how to get the best out of glasses to suit your vision needs. I've changed other doctors but have kept her as my optometrist and I don't plan on changing. As long as she is there, I will be as well. Dr. Rippey and her associates are a PHENOMenal team. I highly recommend them to ANYONE! First, she is a University of Houston alum (Go Coogs!) and very active with the university. She and her staff are very prompt, excellent about following up, and answering any questions you may have. I have been with Dr. Rippey for about 3 years and all 3 have been wonderful. Once, my glasses were fitting improperly, I took them back to the office and the guy adjusted the frames right then and there. I've been coming to this location for the past 8 years, but today I've had enough. Our appointment was at 1:15, and after 45 minutes we still have not heard anything. I've asked the staff twice and they did not seem to care. I totally get that they're busy but keeping their smile would've gone a long way. The staff was very nice! But there office hours are ridiculous. They are open less hours than my bank. Only open 10-3 on Saturday and closed on Sunday. I went to pick up my glasses on Saturday around 4 to realize they are closed. And to make it worse the person who left a message to tell me my glasses were ready didn't bother to tell me what there limited hours were. Very aggravating especially when there competition stays more conducive hours for people that work. Other than the fact that the Dr. Rachel Rippey is great at what she does this place is horrible. I ordered glasses and they told me it would take 2 weeks. a month went by and nothing, I called them and they said they forgot to call me and tell me they were on back order. I told them to cancel my order because I need glasses to see not just to play around with this is serious medical needs. The lady on the phone promised me that she would have them there in 2 days and nothing. I went there to cancel my order and they had them ready. I had to use them since I dont have any glasses and the ones they ordered are UGLY. If you want to look like ugly betty and wait for moths for a pair of glasses then this is your place.
