5/5 I came in with pretty intense pain in my left hip that felt like it might be my sciatic nerve, plus low back pain near my pelvis, general back discomfort, and existing scoliosis. He used a mix of techniques on both my muscles and joints, and what really stood out was how comfortable he made me feel. Dr. Ko is absolutely phenomenal! I'm not exaggerating when I say my first appointment with him was life-changing: For over a decade, I've had severe issues with my right knee and had seen many physicians about the discomfort to no avail. My knee hindered my mobility and prevented me from doing squats, jumps, and other exercises. After relating the pain to Dr. Ko, he discovered my pain stemmed from my ankle, which did not align properly after a sprain. After aligning it, he asked me to stand and I immediately felt the difference. Since then, I've have no issues with pain and can finally do squats and jumps again! (He also alleviated the pain in my neck and back in that same session.) In addition to him being an outstanding chiropractor, Dr. Ko is also very personable and considerate. He explained everything he was going to do beforehand, which made me feel very comfortable and relaxed since I knew what to expect (a very important thing, especially since it was my first time seeing a chiropractor). Dr. Derek Ko is amazing! He and Dr. Slaughter made me feel very comfortable. I was very nervous about seeing a chiropractor in the beginning. I slipped a disc in my back 5 years ago and have been living with the discomfort since. Recently the discomfort turned to pain so bad that some days I couldn't get out of bed. Derek is amazing as always. He works the Saturday games for semi-pro football and my boyfriend dislocated his shoulder about a week ago and he knew exactly what my boyfriend did. I found out about ChiroBalance when Planet Granite Sunnyvale had an event. I had my consultation at ChiroBalance with Dr. Ko. Very professional as well as casual. Dr. Ko presented me with packages that their office offers; I signed up for a 6-week package. I had hip flexor and lower back pain, so each week coming into the office, Dr. Ko helped me not only with adjustments but he also gave me exercises to warm-up/cool down with going into my workouts; these are warm up and cool downs I'll use forever. Dr. Slaughter also adjusted and gave me exercises one week as well. The pains (before being treated by Dr. Ko & Dr. Slaughter) I had were associated with my powerlifting so I was hoping to go to someone who has or who currently is powerlifting as well; it was very comforting to know Dr. Ko is/was/has knowledge in powerlifting. read more

Dr. Ko is the "go-to" chiropractor !! When I injured my right wrist, he adjusted not only my wrist, but also my elbow, shoulder and neck. Dr Ryan Slaughter has great talent as a Chiropractor. He has helped me and my husband with his adjustments. His technique of adjustments is so comfortable, working the muscles as well as aligning the spine. I feel great after one of his treatments. Dr. Ko is fantastic. I've had disk surgery, I've had the shots, but I find Dr Ko's method the best. I was tired of just patching over the problem with medical procedures. He actually gets to the root of the issue and works on rebuilding things from the inside. The other methods I tried were effective for a short time but the relief eventually faded. Dr Ko thoroughly reviewed my MRI and explained everything in detail, easing my concerns (more so than any Dr I've seen thus far).
