I have heard nothing but great things about this establishment. Twice, I walked into this business to inquire about boarding my pet for a few days. Both days, I was a witness to some very negative energy coming from a specific woman. She was yelling and talking down to another younger employee. This was in the reception area as soon as we walked through the front doors. She is an older, bigger lady with medium length blonde hair. The expression on her face, once she noticed I was there, was very aggressive and did not change as she walked out of the room. Although I had very pleasant interactions and conversations with a few of the other employees. The negative energy, with the anger and aggressiveness is something that made the deciding factor to not move forward with boarding my babies at this facility. And this was not a decision I wanted to make. I just can't have that type of energy around my babies. I would not be able to trust her tending to a member of my family with how I witnessed her interacting with her co-workers in front of customers; unapologetically. read more

I have history working in both veterinary care and pet boarding and My Second Home is a rare gem. On the first day of daycare the staff sends you home with a report card and a photo titled "First Day of School." You would think that this extra level of detail and care would cost more, but no...the first day is actually free! On my dog's second day, a week later, they even remembered my pet's name! You can tell that the staff take time to learn about each individual pet and takes time to learn about their different temperaments (which is VERY important when dealing with multiple dogs in one group). The facility was clean and seemed well organized. They have special events, extra add-ons if you want to spoil your pup and contests where you can win free services. I trust this facility with my dog and will use them for boarding and daycare in the future. read more

This is a wonderful place to board your dogs!! They go above and beyond to make sure your animals are happy and well taken care of. They also have excellent customer service, and truly care that their clients (furry and human) are satisfied. The staff there is super friendly and caring: special shout out to Nicole for the special attention she always gives our pups, and to Pam, who graciously took care of an issue we had, and made it right. We feel very lucky to have found My Second Home, as our dogs are our family members, and they deserve the best. My Second Home is the BEST! read more

I just have to write an update on this place. My dogs have been attending day care here for sometime now, simply because of the location and proximity to work and home. 3 weeks ago they raised the rates for day care about 30%. I can see an increase of 5 or 10% but 30% really????? The customer service in the front continues to be bad. The people that work there need training in soft skills. As in how to look up and greet a customer when they walk in the door. Some of them are just downright rude. Maybe this business will take some of that 30% increase and send the staff to customer service training. The 2 girls that work in the back, Bev in the morning and a sweet other girl at night are wonderful. That being said, I am looking for an alternative. They really need to step up their game at these prices. read more

I have used My Second Home twice for my cat in 2014. The first visit was for a couple of days. The second was for ten days. My cat did catch a parasite called Giardia, however, after posting a review, the owner contacted me and provided a FULL refund as well as covering the veterinarian bills. I was pleasantly surprised at the high, satisfactory level of customer service by the owner. He took full responsibility and was very apologetic. This made up for the fact my cat became ill. read more

We love My Second Home! Our dog is a regular at their doggy daycare but recently we boarded her there for 5 nights. Our flight was delayed coming home and My Second Home was extremely flexible and accommodating with extending our dog's stay. The staff is warm, kind and I get the sense they all genuinely love what they do. We are so pleased with this pet facility and highly recommend it to anyone looking for true pet care! read more

I'm one of many regular customers of MSH and have been for 3 years. I travel very frequently and my dog boards and daycares here week after week after week. It literally is her second home and she loves it. Hundreds of stays here and I'm totally comfortable leaving her for the week. From my experience, the staff here loves dogs, are very conscientious about the health and safety of the dogs, and are completely reliable. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but as far as the boarding/day care part of the My Second Home, giving these folks 1 star is absurd. read more

My Second Home - Pet Groomers Near Me - Franklin, Tennessee

My dog attends day care one day per week and absolutely loves it! She gets all the play and attention she can handle and completely collapses once she gets in the car to go home. They have plenty of shade, water, baby pools, etc. to keep the dogs cool in the summer and the staff does an excellent job meeting their needs. She has also stayed for boarding and did very well. I think they do a great job of getting to know the dogs and the owners. It's important to me that they let the dogs be dogs and play, which for my high energy mixed breed is important. If you have a dog that can use a day full of play and is social...this is definitely the place for them! read more

We boarded our very old cat here for about two weeks. We were very concerned because we boarded him with a vet last year and it didn't go well at all. My Second Home met and went beyond our expectations. We gave them specifics on his personalty, diet and charm. It was a great experience. I highly recommend them. read more

We have been taking our three dogs here for some time. When we board them, they are treated like kings. At daycare, which we do more often, they come home exhausted from all of the fun they have. Everyone at My Second Home is like a surrogate parent. I trust them with our dogs and know they are in safe and capable hands. THANK YOU to the staff, especially Bev, the daycare manager. You provide an OUTSTANDING service that is appreciated! read more

I can't say enough about this place... We are from out of state and just moved to Tennessee. We had to suddenly leave the state and go back home and didn't have anywhere to put our dog. The people at my second home treated us so kindly and went far beyond the call of duty to take care of my dog. They actually took her as a favor and then transferred her for us To a different kennel all without charging us one cent. These people are definitely number one in their customer service and being kind. You won't be disappointed bringing your pet there. The staff is amazing! They will take good care of you and your pet. read more

Have boarded my cat there multiple times. Typical cat room style boarding but condos seem a little small and prices are a little high. Today I picked up my cat and was charged for an extra day, because I arrived at 2:20 p.m. and was informed they have to be out by 1:00 p.m. Manager would not waive the extra day. They told me it is like a "hotel policy". Luckily all the hotels I stay at are more flexible and allow an extra hour or two if needed!!! Two stars for inflexible and poor customer service. Plus it smelled terrible in the lobby. We won't be back. read more

I took my dog in for boarding on June 21, 2019 freshly groomed and in good health. When I picked him up on the 30th, he was supposed to have been bathed, which I assumed they did since I was charged for it. My total bill was $650. When we got home, I noticed he was limping on his back left leg and his left ear looked bigger? He is a havenese with fluffy face and ears and medium length hair, so I didn't notice right away until I checked closely that the hair on his ear was matted all the way to the skin, not in one spot, but entire ear area!!! He normally has long silky hair on his ears and has never been matted like that and also went in freshly groomed. So not sure what happened and if he was bathed the day I picked him up, how could his ear be that matted to the skin??? I got a phone call today, July 9th, and after they investigated, they found out my dog was "pounced on" by a puppy and hurt his leg, but after they checked him out, he seemed ok, but the lady who called me apologized because they should have written this up AND call and inform me what happened. They still don't know how his ear got all matted up and swollen, even though he was bathed before I picked him up? She did apologize many times and said if I take him to vet and he has any injuries from his leg or ear, to let them know. They are refunding me the money I paid for his boarding. read more

The only reason I am giving My Second Home a two star rating is because my dogs have boarded here multiple times in the past year and this is the first time I experienced a major issue. Although they always came home dirty and always have to pee the second I pick them up (which makes me think they weren't being walked regularly). This is the first time I had a major issue. I dropped my dogs off on a Thursday as I was leaving for the weekend. I noticed one of my dogs vomit a few times on Thursday but I did not think much of it as sometimes dogs do this. I told My Second Home when I dropped my dogs off that one of them vomited a few times that day. I asked them to keep an eye on him, they said they would. I called every day to check on him while I was gone and I was told he was doing great. I picked him up on Sunday and he was so lethargic he could barely walk to me. This is extremely unusual for my dog as he is usually very hyper. I noticed his skin and eyes were yellow and he looked extremely sick so I rushed him to the hospital. The doctor took his blood and told me he was extremely ill and needed to be admitted immediately for antibiotics, fluids and many tests to determine what was going on. The doctor said if I did not agree to admit him or if I did not bring him in when I did, he would not have made it over night. So if I didn't happen to come home on Sunday, would My Second Home allowed my dog to die in their care because they weren't taking care of him or even looking after him? I called to get answers and was told my dog did throw up a few times while I was gone. Why was I never notified? I should have been called right away when this happened! I could go on and on about this but I think you get the point. My Second Home charged me $560 for "taking care" of my dogs. You didn't take care of them at all. I could actually argue if I left them in your care for one more day, one of my dogs would be dead right now. My dog had to stay in the hospital for 5 days which has cost me almost $6,000. He still has a long road to recovery. The least My Second Home could do is offer to refund me the $560 for their boarding. I have been speaking with a Manager about this regularly and this has never been offered. Be careful if you board your dogs here. The daycare staff seems good but the boarding staff does not care about your dogs. read more

I had just picked-up my puppy two weeks before boarding, and was VERY nervous for Jasmine, and filled with anxiety as I was not sure how she adjust being in a brand-new environment so soon, after rescue. Well, the front desk immediately starting loving on Jasmine and before I knew it I was checked in and Jasmine was running towards the back to be with the other dogs, without saying good-bye! I left feeling that she was in EXCELLENT hands! I even called a day later to check on her, and the front desk staff reassured me she was doing great with a new friend Chubbs during her Rat Pack play time. I picked her up 3 days later, and she was exhausted! (mission accomplished)We arrived home and she promptly took a nap and could not appear to be more pleased about her long puppy resort weekend. Thanks again, and an extra thanks to the front desk staff. They really know what they are doing! read more

This place is ridiculously expensive and you basically have to call weeks in advance just to have your dog go to day care there?! I have never heard of that. I highly would NOT recommend this facility. I recently picked up a dog for my employer who was undergoing a medical procedure. As instructed upon picking up I asked for notes that were made by the staff during his month long stay, in which he was injured while in their care and was taken to his veterinary clinic. I was first told that the notes would be given to me along with the dog. I was then told that there were no notes available. I questioned this as I would imagine any facility would make and keep notes for any animal that had been in their care. After standing and waiting for 30 minutes one of the receptionist handed me 2 poorly hand written paragraphs which I assume she had went and wrote up while I waited. After I stated that I was not happy with this situation I was told that they could mail all records after getting a managers approval. After paying a VERY expensive bill I was then given notes!!! WHY was there such a hassle to obtain medical notes?????? WHY was I lied to???????? After speaking with employer and looking through all the notes I was outraged!!!!!!! This dog had not only been injured at their facility but the injury went 8 days without attention causing an abscess. After being seen by the vet they were instructed to bring him back in for a recheck which was NEVER done! Not to mention he had diarrhea multiple days which was never mentioned to his vet. There was a few days when no one noted if medication was given either. I then mailed a letter along with a copy of the notes I was given highlighting all the errors that had occurred. I questioned many things to which I never received a response. I was told that a manger there had tried contacting the owner of the veterinary practice....? WHY when they had not contacted me or the pet owner?????? The owner of the clinic did not care for his injury nor have any relevance to me contacting them. I have emailed back only to get a response stating that "she would be happy to speak with my employer about the dog, that some of the accusations made she finds VERY offensive and my behavior in their lobby was uncalled for" NO questions were answered and I can assure you my behavior only involved standing and waiting with an anxious dog for about an hour and questioning why there was an issue getting medical notes. I then questioned why I had yet to receive a response and stated that my employer would love to be contacted by her as she had NEVER BEEN CONTACTED REGARDING HER PETS INJURY IN THE FIRST PLACE! Needless to say they have continued to be invasive and have yet to contact my employer or I. Their lack in response only conforms that they have something to hide. read more

Update Nov 2015. Finally got everything worked out and all set with the management team. Took a little bit but they apologized for the hassle and all is good. I started bringing my Doberman puppy here last year to work on socializing her. She absolutely loves coming here to play and my temporary plan has turned into a more permanent one. I often joke that daycare is her job. The staff is very friendly, accommodating, and conscientious. I received a call during Lexi's first boarding stay to alert me to the fact that she was only eating about half of her food and they asked for permission to add a little pumpkin to entice her. She's had no trouble with eating since that first stay, and I am able to enjoy going out of town without worrying about her. I know that she is loved on and well taken care of at MSH whether she is there for boarding, daycare, or to be groomed. read more

I absolutely love My Second Home and really don't understand any of the negative reviews below. My 80lb pit bull mix can be a lot to handle and when we discovered day care wasn't the best option for us there were other options to choose from like day board. Kemba is always so excited to see all the staff every time we go to "school" and you can tell they're just excited to see him. I've done just about everything here from daycare to overnight board to grooming and have 0 complaints! Thanks My Second Home for being there for this "single dog mommy"! read more

My Second Home is incredible! We have used their services for daycare, overnight boarding, and grooming and we have never had a bad experience. Our dogs attend doggie daycare every day of the week and absolutely love it! The dogs have a ton of room to run around outside, but they also have an air conditioned room for them to play just in case it gets too hot or rains. Not only is the facility always clean, but the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Bev is amazing and makes you feel so comfortable leaving your dog in their care. The staff was very friendly and answered all of my questions. They didn't sound annoyed when I called to check on my dog. They gave me a follow up card with a note that stated how my dog did while he was there. That was a plus. I also received a picture of my dog playing which was nice to see since I was a little worried about him. The prices were a bit high. The bath was not included with the boarding and was an extra almost $30.00. In our previous location doggie daycare/playtime was included in the price of boarding. Not the case here. Everything was charged separately and there are fees for everything. Other than price being extremely high, the staff was friendly and professional and that was a plus to me. read more

Ro S. My dogs absolutely love My Second Home. They treat them like their own. They offer great services of which I have taken advantage of and I've never been sorry. My biggest dog can't wait to get out of the car to get to day care. The staff there is so friendly and accomodating. My two little ones only get groomed there but they no longer dread being groomed like they were before and the groomers are so good with them and they look adorable when I pick them up. They even refunded an added service that I had asked for because when I got there it wasn't done and I had to wait. I've had nothing but wonderful experiences at My Second Home. read more

I'm tempted to give 1 star for this review, but I'll be gracious since the first visit was a lot better than our second one. I have 2 dogs that I boarded here on 2 occasions. The first time, both were happy when they returned. The second time (2 weeks ago), when I came to pick them up they both smelled pretty bad, which I guess could be from playing with other dogs? I don't know. But my lab started licking his paw as soon as he got home, as if he had hurt it, and his elbows were raw. I also noticed later that day that his voice was extremely hoarse and screechy when he barked and he just seemed downright sad. After about a week he started limping and I couldn't figure out why, but it kept getting worse each day. Come to find out, he's got 2 infected cuts on his paw, so I had to take him in to the vet today to spend another $160. That's on top of the already extremely high rates they charge. If it weren't for the convenient location I would have taken them over to Pet Resorts of America in the first place. Additionally, I brought 2 raw hide bones that I asked the employees to give them so they wouldn't be so upset being separated from my wife and I, but they handed the bones right back to me when I came to pick them up! WTF? And it goes without saying that the "report cards" the give you are generic garbage that they don't put any thought into. They filled out both report cards exactly the same for both of my dogs who have distinctly different personalities, and made no note of my lab being stressed out or injured at all. So clearly they don't give their boarded pets the attention that they should, based on their ridiculously high rates. Needless to say, I won't be boarding my dogs there again. I'm starting to wonder if they gave my dogs extra attention the first time since I was a new customer. If that's the case, then I would recommend boarding your dog here purely for the new customer rates and the preferential treatment. read more

Daycare! My dog loves attending the daycare program. She gets so exited when we pull up that she cannot wait to jump out of the car and into MSH (no joke!) I have been taking my Dog Dylan to My Second Home for over 2 years. He was kicked out of another day care and boarding facility because they were small and not well trained. They said daycare was not for Dylan. My Second Home Staff have gone out of their way to make sure my guy is safe and comfortable and he always has a great stay. We have boarded him for up to 12 days and he comes home relaxed and ready to regroup. I trust their judgement about his care and play. I have seen the kennel where he is boarded, clean and large. His bed and toys come home washed, better than I can do. I get pictures from his stays at camp and I know he enjoys his time. He has had baths and had his nails cut and since he has always had issues with his feet, this is amazing. He used to have issues with men and in general and with people he doesn't know. He used to growl and bark. Now he does neither. My dog is usually at camp 2-3 days a week. I have no fear of leaving him, they know how to care for him and I trust Bev the Daycare Mgr to treat my dog as well as she treats hers. I would recommend this facility over 2 others that I tried before this one. I realize that mistakes can be made and dogs can have issues with other dogs. They are preventative, and not reactive but certainly I feel that they can handle any situation that comes up. read more

I've been taking my dog here for a couple years, and although I like the place itself, the staff bothers me. They make me feel like my dog is neglected. If he was, why would I take him to a freakin expensive pet resort for grooming? They always give me the 3rd degree about how I care for my dog, his shots, food, etc. My dog is by far the most pampered pup on the face of the earth, and everyone that knows me, knows this. He's groomed regularly, gets his teeth cleaned, he's up-to-date on vaccines, his nails are trimmed. He even has an entire collection of pet clothes. He eats high-quality food and is constantly doded on. I don't know what their problem is, but my dog is not the least bit neglected. He's loved and nurtured unconditionally. read more

gnarls barkley is a studly doofus, otherwise known as a bully mix. but they love him anyway. when called to ask about boarding, i was afraid to ask if they allowed bully breeds to come to doggy day care and boarding there, and was met with not only a "yes!" but a resounding glee of excitement with tales of one of their favorite dogs being bully breeds and a "staffie" (america staffordshire terrier) (pitt bull) (after his try out day, they said this female staffie took to gnarls immediately and they played and played and played together). when i explained we were in the process of professional training, they reassured me that was okay, and they were accustomed to working with typical puppy behavior. when i started almost crying saying there are different standards for typical puppy behavior for a "non-bullly breed" puppy then there are for him and "his kind", they again sweetly reassured me they have several bully breeds that come for doggy day care. one of the sweet girls during my tour even pulled out her phone to show me pictures of her bully. i've been yelled at--yelled at! in public when all he was doing was sitting at my feet with his tail wagging and tongue hanging out of his mouth being called "irresponsible" for even rescuing him from a shelter, so to have people dote on him and his bread, it brings me tears of joy, seriously. (what kind of jerk yells at a 5'4 woman by herself with her perfectly sitting puppy anyway!) i work at a preschool and i used to have a real hard time understanding why some mommies have a difficult time just dropping their kids of and going (why the tears!!!), but now, i totally get it, only it's my fur-child, not human child. the hubs and i are going on vacation in may, and were going to have g-man boarded there, but we wanted to do a try-out day first (which is free with a $5 donation to agape animal rescue). so, on monday, with much sadness, fear and trembling, brought my baby, my love, my g-man doofus dog in for his first day of doggy daycare. i think i cried on my way to work after i dropped him off. on my lunch break, i called to check on him (there's even an option for that: when you call, select "option 4" to check on your pet) the lady who spoke with me exclaimed with sincerity how everyone there loves him, and they were just talking about how great of a dog he is! (and i know blowing smoke, teachers have to do it a lot!, and this was sincere, they see my pup for the sweet pup he is, just like i do!). they were so sweet and sincere in their encouragement of how much fun he was having and how great he was. what a sweet balm for my worried heart. they said they even had some great pictures of him in play for me! PICTURES!!!!! :) when i arrived to pick him up, they had not only pictures, but a 4 page doggy daycare evaluation for him, everything from dog personality, temperament, to interaction with other dogs. he was superb in all areas. :) and the pictures, ohmy, seriously, they know what doggy mommies need! also, they allow visitors for your pup when being boarded! a few of my friends are able to go by and visit him/walk him/cuddle him on the couch, which helps my worried heart too! the hubs and i leave tomorrow for our vacation, and while i will miss my buddy, i am completely trusting of the environment he'll be in and the love an doting he will receive. i'll update again after the boarding. read more

Extremely upset about this facility. I have taken my dog there for grooming and boarding before with really no issues. This time she stayed for 5 days and I left specific instructions to only give her water when she is being taken out which was three times and I paid for an extra late night walk which makes 4 times. When I picked her up her bedding and blankets were soaked in urine which I did not realize until I got home. When I picked her up the employee took her bedding to my car and put in the back seat. This amount of urine had to be from days as I have never seen that amount in her bedding before. It was soaked. I was upset- I trusted this facility to take good care of my dog in my absence. It upsets me that she had to lay in urine. What is also upsetting is that they had to know this as she did not smell. They must of bathed her. When I called to talk to a manager I did not identify myself or my dog and the manager automatically knew who I was. When I said you know you are talking about my dog and I never identified myself. If there was an issue they should have discussed with me before I left and also the report card should have indicated a problem. When I asked for a report card at pickup they looked thru a stack of cards and couldn't find hers. It sounds to me that she got overlooked. She also came home with a lot of food. I am waiting to hear from the manager as I spoke with her this am. A lot of good that will do. I don't believe I will be taking my dog back for boarding or for grooming. I am disappointed as I thought I could trust these people to take care of my dog in my absence. Now looking for another facility. Update: Talked to the co-owner Chris and I am suppose to get a 50% refund to my account which I have not seen in my account yet. Hopefully soon. Of course he apologized. read more

My three year old Australian Shepard, Bentley has been to daycare at My Second Home a handful of times now. All the staff loves him and I even got to take home a cute photo of him after his first evaluation! He is now so excited in the morning when we get in the car because he knows he's going to play with his friends at My Second Home. I had to leave for a few days last week and I am normally VERY hesitant about leaving my baby overnight somewhere but not since I have found this place. They offered my 25% off of his first overnight stay and they even gave him a belly rub and tuck in. That's when I knew my baby would be in terrific hands while I was away. After dropping Bentley off, the staff was more than willing to show me the facility and where my pet would be staying and I must say I was very impressed at the cleanliness and how genuinely caring the staff is. Also, the day I picked him up I received an adorable video of him playing with his new friends in the dog park. I have tried other kennels in the past and never had an experience like this. I am really excited to say that this will be our new second home for Bentley! read more
