I'm really disappointed with my experience at Haute Headz. I was excited to try a new stylist after…read moreseeing her work on IG (Avery) and was prepared to spend more than I normally would, but I walked out feeling frustrated and like I didn't get what I paid for--especially at a $300 price point. The appointment started off uncomfortably when the stylist next to me overheard what I do for a living (title insurance) and commented that I work in "legalized extortion." Not only was this wildly inappropriate, it made me feel awkward and judged right from the start. I had a thorough consultation with my stylist and we agreed that to achieve the look I wanted--light ends contrasting with a deeper base--I'd need a full lightening service rather than the partial that was originally quoted. I agreed to the upcharge with the expectation that I'd get the desired result. Unfortunately, that's not what I got. Instead of a smooth, dimensional color, I ended up with chunky highlights, a grown-out root look, and ends that are still noticeably darker than the base. It looks like a rushed job and not at all the intentional contrast we discussed. To make things worse, there are two very obvious bright white spots at my hairline where toner was completely missed. I brought this up when I got home and noticed it (Avery really should have caught them when washing or styling my hair, they're quite obvious) and the stylist did offer to fix it, but her availability didn't line up with mine. I explained that I couldn't take another hour and a half off work to come in during the week, given the 30+ minute drive each way, which she knows because we live near each other. Rather than showing understanding, she got defensive and told me it wouldn't take long and that I should reach out to the salon owner if I had further concerns. The one bright spot in all this (well, other than the 2 in my hairline) is that the haircut turned out well, which is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. But overall, this was a frustrating experience with results I'm unhappy with and a lack of professionalism I didn't expect from a salon at this price point. I won't be returning.

Believe me.. i've been on this roller coaster of a journey for years! After seeing Sophia on IG and quietly stalking her posts for a while, I finally gained up enough courage to book an appointment. Like I said, my blonde journey has been a roller coaster and I have some serious trust issues, but I was finally ready to take another leap of faith, and I'm so glad I did! Sophia did such an amazing job on my hair! She really listened to what I wanted, heard all of my concerns, and we jumped into a day long color correction. She fought against banding, inconsistent and patchy weaving from old highlights, and worked through areas that were over processed while taking extra care to prevent as much breakage as possible. After an exhaust day, my hair was it's blondest blonde and still healthy! She's a miracle worker! The very next day, Sophia text me to check in and see how I was feeling and to make sure I was satisfied with my results. I have NEVER had a stylist check in on me like that before. She truly cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. If you're looking for a stylist who cares about you, is passionate about her work and continued education/industry knowledge, and is willing to devote the time to help you achieve your hair goals, rather than double/over book too many clients at one time, then go see Sophia! You won't regret it!

I unfortunately had a very disappointing experience at this salon…read more Before my appointment, I showed my stylist inspiration pictures of **my own hair** from when I previously had the blonde color I wanted to return to. She also showed me her inspiration pictures, and we agreed on the cut and color before beginning. While she was coloring my hair, I asked about doing a full highlight and whether a partial would achieve the color we discussed. She told me it was too late to switch to a full because the technique was different. I wasn't concerned because I trusted that the partial would achieve the result we had agreed upon. After bleaching and toning my hair, she then told me that my hair would not be as blonde as I wanted because I had received a partial and would need a full session to achieve that result. I was very frustrated because I had specifically asked about a full highlight earlier. If I had been told beforehand that a partial could not achieve the agreed-upon color, I would have chosen a different service. I also noticed a visible line from my previous color that had not been blended. When I spoke with the manager, she told me, "I am the professional and I know what I'm talking about." I agreed and explained that this was exactly why I was upset--I trusted the professional to tell me what service was necessary to achieve the color we discussed. Instead, I was told after the service was completed that I couldn't get the result I wanted. The manager became extremely upset and yelled at me while I was trying to explain my concerns. I had to ask her to calm down. When I said I would be leaving an honest negative review about my experience, she accused me of threatening her. I found that response completely inappropriate and extremely disrespectful. I was not offered a refund, only discounted additional services to try to achieve the look I originally wanted. I never would have agreed to the salon's pricing if I had known beforehand that the service being performed could not achieve the result we discussed. I only booked here because my regular stylist was booked and I was trying to fit in an appointment. Unfortunately, I left unhappy with both my hair and the way my concerns were handled. I will not be returning. Edit: I am also a natural blonde, as the stylist stated during the appointment when she said this would be and "easy" treatment during the appointment. My stylist I normally go to also regularly performs this service.
