What (more) can I say? David, and the crew from My Own Car Guy exceeded all of my expectation! This was the first time that I used a car broker, and I had my moments of hesitation. I went on Facebook to find out what others thought, and everything was glowing, so I gave them a shot. I really didn't know what kind of car I wanted, and really didn't want to go to dealer after dealer. I sent a request into the website, and within two hours, I heard from David. He was extremely patient with me, answered 1 million questions, and offered me the opportunity to either come in and meet with him or do things through the Internet. I elected to meet with him a few few days later. He walked me through the entire process, told me everything that they were going to do in order to help me out, and even made recommendations that I had not thought of. They even contacted a wholesaler, found out that I had equity in my car, and that was used to pay off the final payment and some dealer. everything if was transparent. I went with his recommendation for a car, and so far, I have been extremely pleased. There were a few little bumps in the road, certainly not caused by My Own Car Guy, but rather the dealer where they got the car from. After reaching out to, on Christmas Eve, he took care of everything within a few hours he even texted me on Christmas Day to see how things were going. Didn't respond to initial inquiries. Finally gave us quotes and then didn't respond for another week. Once they responded, we only had 2 days to make a decision before promos changed for the end of the month. And because of the delay, we could no longer test drive in time, so we made the decision to lease without doing so. We rushed to get them all the info they wanted to put the paperwork through, and then again they didn't respond in time. Now the promos changed and the car is more more expensive / we can't afford it! Update: they ended up fixing the situation, but not sure if I would use them again. It was very stressful. read more

Too Bad you can't leave Zero Stars : The old adage You get what you pay for still stands, As yes you may save a few bucks, BUT TRUST ME not worth the aggravation you will have. I called Danny on a Facebook post from a friend recommending him, I called and he gave me all the reasons why I should go with him rather then a dealer, first a foremost NO HASTLE they do everything and more importantly unlike dealer the price he tells you is the price you pay, no last minute oh and you need to pay this, so what happens when time comes to pay and the numbers are finalized its 1500 more then what he told me !!! he explained he was not aware that he could not combine the 0% financing with the cash back, that's not my issue but I didn't press as we went through the whole process so now my 3,000 savings from the dealer was now 1500 which I probably could have bargained at the dealer and gotten fairly close , in any event I went with him, he delivered the car with temp plates and temp registration, 5 days later a ticket comes in the mail for an ez pass violation , he venmoed me the money but not the point that should never have happened, his explanation was we have ez pass don't know why that happened, taken in a vacuum again not the worse thing in the world, however 5 days prior to the plates expiring and no registration , I starting pressing him for when I am getting my plates, he told me " NY plates take 2-3 weeks, jersey a little longer since there is more paperwork involved to do the transfer, You'll have the plates and if you get a tickety (I'll pay it) the latest you'll have them is Monday, No reason to keep texting as I explained it and don't have time for this ITS BEING HANDLED AS ITS NORMALLY IS" I'm sorry not having plates on time and expecting someone to drive an unregistered uninspected vehicle is not alright, he even went further with his ridiculous response "Nothing would hold up in court for a ticket that has to do with waiting on plates " and here is the great customer service no hassle response " Your making a bigger deal than it should be and creating aggression between us. Sit tight and just wait for plates" At that point it was clear he made his money on me on to next sucker which was clear by another one his text book great customer service texts " I've never seen someone act this way and I'm not taking a call when I'm sitting with a client. The information I'm giving you is truth and why you don't accept it I don't comprehend. I'll see about tracking it tomorrow. Don't call me today I've told you everything I know and is going on You'll hear from me tomorrow " The final straw was when he still had no confirmation of when plates were coming and said" your plated are going to arrive a day or 2 after the expiration date and your acting like the world is going to end, if you get a ticket I will pay for it , you will not go to jail if your temporary plates expire " At that point I started calling motor vehicles myself tracking down where they were and getting it expedited myself Dmv in Albany as well as the clerks in Little Valley were extremely helpfully , as was Frank the manager at Toms River where the car was purchased from was very helpful and explained that the delay was on Dannys side not theirs Gee what a shock, Trust me the man hours I spent to get the plates finally fedexed to me as opposed to just ". Sit tight and just wait for plates" was not worth the savings , less hassle with a dealer, by far worse experience I have had buying a car I have ever had, live and learn , take my advise the savings are not worth it... read more

I cannot even begin to explain how great of an experience it was to deal with Danny and everyone at my own car guy. Dealing with a dealership is something I will never do again no sitting for hours waiting for finance no back and forth arguing over $10 and especially no hidden non sense from the salesman.
