MY NANAS BEST TASING AUTHENTIC TORTILLA CHIPS: I have enjoyed the chips for decades. Unfortunately they are not really produced in the same manner and can't really be considered My Nanas anymore. As of 2015 or so they suddenly began appearing covered in air bubbles and no longer represented the types of chips Arizonans have been used to since the 60's.
They also created a local market concern when they switched their bags, the chips were stale before they even hit the stores. I spoke to the owner on the phone about this one, she was concerned about all the negative feedback she had received and they did revert back to previous packaging relatively quickly.
This all shows to me there was either a massive change in the way they make things, or a change in ownership, and the new owners were not really aware or concerned about the product histories.
BOTTOM LINE: for chips you can buy at almost any Phoenix area store, these are still the best there is, but they recently have changed manufacturing process so they no longer represent authentic style chips, they have become a hybrid style product between authentic and Frito Lay offerings.
OTHER: Their bottled hot sauce used to be relatively authentic and tasty, then one day it suddenly became slimy (they added gum based chemicals to reduce any separation). And it also lost most of its seasoning, and they had the audacity to slap a "now spicer" label on the new product. read more
