I have called this place MULTIPLE times to get a general idea of cost and time for a repair. Without fail, the people who answer tell me to leave my name and number and that they will call me back. Without fail, I have NEVER gotten a call back!! I have waited 2-3 days each time (between calls). I have also explained that i have called before and I am still told, "we will look it up (the repair) and call you back". To date, no one has called back. I have had the needed repairs handled elsewhere. I wouldn't let these guys work on my car for free. There is no customer service, really, it's is non-existent. Had my car towed here by AAA for a flat front tire. The tire itself wasn't flat, but low and the mechanic here said it was a rim issue. He said the repair was done and I took the car home. The next morning, tire was low again. Had it towed back to this shop and it took them all morning to tell me that they just couldn't figure out what the problem was. The cause of a simple low tire on a Benz confounds a professional auto shop after they already made a bad repair on it, which I never got a refund for. Wow. Avoid this place. read more

Absolute piss of an establishment. I took my Honda there to fix my engine (cylinder misfiring) and was quoted a decent price. Cool, no problem. No worries with that. Upon receiving my car, my car stereo / radio wasn't working and they failed to look at my electric window (not going up) without requesting another diagnostic fee, after dropping ~1500 of work. After confronting the clerk, he told me "oh we didn't touch it couldn't of been us." Weird, because I was definitely was listening to a podcast upon arrival and I've had this car since I drove it off the lot. The clerk refused to acknowledge that the shop is at fault for messing up my radio and stereo to the point where I can't even take hands off conference calls for my job (which I drive a lot). After taking my car to another shop, because MyMechanjc is a joke, I've recently found out that the only way my stereo would be broken or not working would be from "hastily taking something out and not taking the time to account for the electrical/wiring in place. I had to have a safety inspection to bring my car into Maryland. I was told I needed a piece because I had an exhaust leak. I was quoted $1,495. I went elsewhere and paid $283 and passed the inspection. Not much more to say, is there? Even if that was a reasonable price for what they replaced, they should have told me I could have the work done elsewhere for less than a quarter of the cost. In addition they suggested another $360 of work I should consider. The station that ultimately inspected the vehicle told me only one of those things was even a necessary possibility (radiator flush). STAY AWAY!! read more

Had car towed to this shop. Was given an estimate of $850. to replace a crank and cam sensor. Also was told I need spark plugs and engine cleaning. Took car elsewhere and found out that the PCM was the cause of my issues. PCM replaced and car runs great. While I paid $1100 to get the PCM replaced, I can only assume that if I had not gotten a second opinion that I would have paid $850 and then another $1100. read more

On August 5, 2016, the very next day after purchasing a for sale by owner used car; I took it to My Mechanic, at 9617 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD, to get it MD State Inspected. As an AAA auto club member I searched its site http://midatlantic.aaa.com/Automotive/LocalAARSearch for an AAA approved shop near me that performed MD state inspections, and choose this one being the nearest to my home. Prior to purchase, the previous owner gave full disclosure of two repair issues that were needed, the brake master cylinder (BMC) and the electric windows non-functioned. With these issues in mind I began to research the availability and cost of the parts for these repairs, with priority on the master brake cylinder as I wasn't sure yet what would be need to repairs the windows. I found the BMC to not only be readily available for my 2003 model, but also to be inexpensive (ranging between $33 for refurbish part and $65 for a new one). The results of the State Inspection was a fail, in need of the following repairs: * "brake master cylinder with brake fluid flush and bleed all brakes * "needs parking brake release handle" (worked handle just didn't spring back in place) * "high mount brake light" * "windows don't work" No surprise here. The My Mechanic price quote of $905.00 for these Recommended Services does not include repairing the windows, just a $95.00 charge to diagnose the problem and determine the needed repairs. Subtracting this diagnostic fee, that leaves the repair cost for the suggested repairs, excluding the windows, to be $810.00. When I questioned the service advisor as to why the cost was so high, stating the cost for a new brake master cylinder is around $65.00, he stated "they told me it cost $375.00." I asked what the cost would be if I purchased the part, new, and provided it? He responded "we don't allow parts to be provided" and dismissed me, refusing further discussion. I felt that I had surly been dealt the proverbial "Woman's Card" not being expected to have a clue when it comes to understanding auto repairs and there cost), being given this ridicules repair quote and their unwillingness to respectfully and intelligently engage me with a proper explanation and an itemized parts and labor cost list, for the recommended repairs and service. I paid the $79.00 inspection fee and retrieved my car. After leaving the shop, I contacted my local Pep Boys and received a quote to install the brake master cylinder (using my purchased new part) of $150.00 and an additional $45.00 to diagnose my electrical windows issue. Also, that same day, I purchased the brake master cylinder, on line, from our local Auto Zone ($65.00), and picked it up from the store along with the two bulbs needed to repair the high mount brake light ($3.00), the following day. I removed the old bulbs and popped in the new ones, in less than 5 minutes, and they are working. Something worth noting, everyone employees) whom I encountered when I bought my car in for service was very friendly and engaging, and I was open to the welcoming and friendly reception, as this is what I expect from all businesses that I patronize. This welcoming feeling could cause one to become unguarded and trusting. However, one should never take it as a given to be treated with fairness and integrity when it comes to receiving fair pricing and quality of goods and services. In other words, keep your guard up and be watchful. There'll be time enough for relaxing, when the dealings done. I was visiting friends in Maryland when my car died. I called a tow and it was recommended that I have my car towed to this shop. After talking with the owner I was given full assurance that the car would be worked on and finished the same day. (This all happened in the morning.) I was not called until 4:00 PM, told my car needed $750 worth of work and wouldn't even be worked on until Monday!! I called and asked if I could get my car towed to a shop that could work on it that weekend (since I had to be back to work on Monday), but was told that I couldn't even get my car until I paid their diagnostic fee of $85. After being told that legal action would be taken if I didn't pay the fee I finally had my car back. I took it to a Jiffy Lube where they fixed it in a couple hours and I only paid a little over $300. Needless to say I was very disappointed and would NOT recommend this particular garage to anyone!! read more
