We had water leak through the foundation of our basement and soak a portion of the carpet. Somebody from D & D Carpet Care came out to clean it, I don't know their name since they didn't introduce themselves and didn't speak much english. He hit the projector mounted to the ceiling with his vacuum wand after I warned him to watch out. He didn't acknowledge me or the event, just kept going. He started by spraying a thick concentrated line of cleaner down the middle of the area, then lightly sprayed the rest of the carpet. He followed up with the steam vacuum but was pushing and pulling it so quickly that it was skipping off the floor. He didn't spend any extra time on the area he sprayed with extra cleaner. After packing up he just left, leaving the basement door open and without saying anything. I was waiting for a while wondering if he was coming back. Nope, he and his van were gone. I think he said a total of 5 words. The room had a very strong cleaner smell, so strong it was giving us headaches. We used our little wet mop vac in attempt to suck up some of the soap left behind, it didn't get much of the water we sprayed down, but it picked up tons of dirt, dust, hair, etc. If our property management company wasn't paying for the service I would be requesting a full refund. Unless you love the smell of industrial cleaner and poor service, I'd choose another company to clean your carpet.

Anyways, before today I had not had my carpets cleaned since I moved into our home over 3 years ago. I honestly didn't really think about professionally cleaning the carpets because I had not needed to think about it prior to this home (oops, my bad! I'll keep up on it now!) I'm sure everyone did the same thing before choosing who they wanted to go with to clean their carpets (searching the many options/reviews that appear on google), because there are quite a few out there, and its hard to know what a reasonable price is, and what the service should look like from start to finish if you have not done it before! (You can stop looking now that you're reading this review :p) I was looking through, and came across Top Notch Carpet Cleaning, and I honestly couldn't have made a better decision. Steps I took before day of service- - Went onto their website and looked at their service options (They make it super easy to build your own quote online) - I chose to book an appt and choose specific areas, sizes, and the type of cleaning I wanted - I then chose an available time and booked the appt all online within a matter for maybe 5min (After you choose the type and area size you want cleaned, it gives you a price for the service too!) Prepping the spaces being cleaned before the service! I made sure to vacuum the spaces I was having cleaned before the day of service (I recommend reading their pre appt email that tells you how to prep the space prior to their arrival ( I assume this just helps with the flow of your service and ensures that their tools don't get clogged or something. But either way, if it helps them day of, the areas will be vacuumed! I will note that once your service day comes, they will look at the areas to make sure they aline with the options you chose (which is super helpful, because I kind of guessed sqft areas in bedrooms that had things like furniture that took up sqft space) and will discount a little if you chose too big of a space, and add if you underestimated the space. I received a text the night before letting me know what time he would arrive the following day, and I also received a text the morning of telling me how far out he was, which was very helpful for me so that I could make sure my animals were put away! Once James arrived he was very nice, and took a look at the areas I wanted cleaned, and also looked around the carpet for pet stains with a black light. (yikes! I may have to invest in a blacklight now haha!) Anyways, the blacklight was MUCH needed. James was very thorough during initial looks, and then got to work! I'm honestly writing this as he works because I have the time, and also wanted to be very thorough with this review because up until this point, I am super happy with the service. Update- Service has finished. The carpets look as new as the first time I saw them when the house was new! I can't say enough good things about James, and the service he provided.
