We tried the Mesa plate, spanakopita (spinach pie), lemon chicken soup, moussaka, and Greek salad. All were "authentic" and good tasting. I've read some of the negative reviews and wonder what motivates some reviewers to unnecessarily pile on and slander businesses and people for not living up to their (subjective) standards. This is a family owned and operated business so the next time maybe give them the benefit of the doubt and give them another try. What if it were YOUR family being so harshly

I would come back for rose and Spanakopita. Cons: aside from the Spanakopita the food wasn't great. The mezze plate was average. The eggplant dip had no flavor and was over whipped leaving a mushy texture. The spicy feta was just ok. The best was the potato but after a couple of bites we didn't want more cold whipped potato. The Avgolemono soup could have been so much better. The lemon was present and delicious but the stock was watered down and tasted out of the box, not made in house. Great spanakopita, great patio, great service. The rest of food needed work.

My husband and I have been here multiple times and they always treat us like family. Extreme professionalism and delicious food with a lovely atmosphere. This is a fountain hills gem, do not miss out.

Enjoyed a couple of ouzo with a drop of water, then had to have the flaming saganaki: graviera with a light flour dusting and deliciously melted with crispy bits. My favorite dishes have always been moussaka and pastistitsio: today I opted for the moussaka because I'm the only one to eat eggplant... my first bite took me back to lunch at the beach many years ago: very tasty and delicious. We also ordered the lamb cutlets, perfectly cooked and so good. Our server was attentive without being constantly hovering, which was great; the ambiance suited me perfectly as it was low key in the best way. The other diners sitting at their tables seemed local, the restaurant to pop in after a round of golf or just to enjoy a home cooked meal. I do enjoy these tucked away gems, their food as well as the service. I feel like we should come back on a saturday evening when the stage is set up and dancing might be happening :) At the end of the meal I only had room for my kafe metrio: I make it in my briki sometimes but it just tastes so much better made at the bar or restaurant. The restaurant is tucked away off the beaten path as it were, but I'm really happy I found Alexander's !!

The service was great, and the food was even better. We started off with the artichoke bites, which came out piping hot and crispy with a side of lemon garlic, aïoli sauce. I ordered the spicy vodka pasta with shrimp which came with about five pieces of jumbo shrimp and homemade pasta. The sauce was amazing. It was probably one of the best pasta dish I've had. My husband ordered the chicken pasta with cream that was recommended by the bartender. That was also delicious. They also have free bread that came with olive oil with salsa Verde in it, which was interesting. We have to ask for the free bread though. For dessert we had gelato with salt and olive oil, which was surprisingly good. Overall, we had a great experience with amazing food. I would definitely come back here for the spicy vodka pasta next time I'm in town.

I ordered the Smokey Fashion, which leaned strong and spirit-forward. Our appetizer was a daily special featuring burrata (the creamy Italian cheese similar to mozzarella) with mushrooms, artichoke, arugula, and a flavorful sauce--beautifully done. For mains, we had to try the pasta. My friend ordered the gnocchi, and I had the artisan-style garganelli with grilled chicken, sautéed mushrooms, and green onions in a smoky chipotle cream sauce--rich, slightly spicy, and easily one of the best pasta dishes I've had this year. Service matched the quality of the food, with a knowledgeable and polished server throughout.

The chicken is not from the pit , but rather grilled on flat top. I didnt get any garlic (thoum). Overall very filling. The falafel were crunchy, moist in inside and probably the best out of the rest of our picks. Not sure about the dip, boy it was zesty .almost like eating a lemon rind. The kubbeh were ok. Im used to some pine nuts, and mince meat , onions and bit more greasy. These were the tidy..neat.. cute Lil kubbeh snacks. Food came out quick. Definitely worth coming back for falafel.. edit: Bumped up to 5 stars! why? : I was wrong about the chicken not coming from the pit when it was. The dip with the falafel was bit acidic for my taste. We sat outside on the patio, absolutely beautiful weather and the tables are gently shaded by beautiful Brazilian Pepper trees. My only issue, I had bits of the tree in my hair, my water, my drink and my dinner. Our waiter Joshua was fantastic, a warm, gracious pro. PERFECT!! We started with the bone marrow appetizer. Maybe the best I've had at a restaurant. Came topped with a piping of mashed potatoes and bread crumbs. Perfectly cooked and served with toasted brioche bread, smoked sea salt and a bacon marmalade. It was delicious and huge. My only thoughts on making it perfect...Go ahead and salt your marrow in the kitchen and add another slice of toast. You are serving two big marrow bones, so don't be stingy with a piece of toast. All that said, this app was highlight of dinner. My daughter opted for another appetizer as her entree. She had the Spanish style garlic chili shrimp in butter. Looked huge and she said it was over the top fabulous. (I'm allergic to shellfish so I just took her word) She added some duck fat fries which were fine, but not great. I had the mushroom strudel and it was okay but frankly pretty underwhelming. Think it had been pre-made, filling was blah, flakey pastry was not, and highlight was a plucky little pepper sauce that was delicious but didn't really go with the main dish. It screamed for a nice cream sauce, and some butter in the filling. I love mushrooms as a main and this poor little pastry looked and tasted like a hot pocket. Now back to the positives. The dark chocolate soufflé with homemade crème anglaise is lovely and well worth it . My daughter also loved the prickly pear margaritas. All in all, really nice experience and meal. The kitchen obviously functions well and service is perfect. A few tweaks on the menu and this place is stellar. Even now, a Great special occasion restaurant and the location and lovely service made it special for us.

But the ambiance overall was nice and it was a beautiful day. Bruschetta trio was good. I liked the jamon one the best. The Tuna Nicoise was fine. Presentation was lovely. My bf would have liked some other veggies and don't feel it lived up to his standards. I had the Monte Cristo which was enormous and tasty. The ham had been fried and it really added to the flavor. The soufflé was incredible- although we were not advised it was a $5 upcharge for a minuscule scoop of ice cream. Speaking of prices. We were charged $30 for my sandwich which was listed as $24 on the menu. We didn't notice until I looked at the receipt that he next day. It's only $6 but it didn't leave me feeling positively.
