I've been shopping with them for years, mostly at the Uptown Farmers Market, and it's become a non-negotiable part of my weekend routine. Their fruits and veggies? On another level. I'm just telling you that once you taste their organic produce, it ruins the grocery store for you. I'm not being dramatic...okay maybe a little...but seriously, everything just tastes better. The carrots are sweeter, the citrus is brighter, and don't even get me started on the herbs. Fresh. Fragrant. Plentiful. I buy more than I need every time because I can't help myself. My fridge is so happy to be filled with all the herbs! It makes cooking seem way less like a chore and more like something wonderful that I get to do! The team is always kind, helpful, and genuinely happy to be there. You feel good shopping with people who care about what they do. Bonus? I actually spend less money here than I do at the store. Significantly less and for a much higher quality of food! It's wild. Totally worth the drive! Bottom line: McClendon's is the gold standard of Arizona farming. Your taste buds will thank you. She was friendly, welcoming, and truly made our visit memorable. The market has an amazing selection of hot foods and desserts, and everything we tried was delicious. We bought a container of their sungold cherry tomatoes and OMG best cherry tomatoes we've had and that container was gone in 1 days at home!! And take time and love to cultivate I overheard a lot of negative comments from other people visiting, that I don't think realize that this was just a small family owned farm that blew up. Disappointed in what Mortimer Farms has become…read more We've been visiting Mortimer Farms for years, long before having children of our own. It's always been a place we've enjoyed, supported, and recommended to countless friends and families. Unfortunately, after our experience this weekend, we're genuinely questioning whether we'll return. We drove nearly two hours to visit, only to discover that admission was $30 per person, approximately double what we've typically paid in the past. When we questioned the increase, the employee at check-in explained that admission prices increase each week throughout October until Halloween. What makes this pricing structure particularly disappointing is the timing. For those of us raising families in Arizona, we've just spent months enduring extreme summer temperatures, often confined to air-conditioned spaces because it's simply too hot for our children to enjoy being outdoors. October is one of the first opportunities we have to get outside again, enjoy the beautiful weather, and make memories together as a family. Mortimer Farms has always been one of those special places worth making the drive from the Phoenix area to visit. To see admission prices increase so dramatically during the very season when families are finally able to enjoy these experiences feels especially disheartening. I understand that fall is likely a busy and profitable season for the farm, but knowing how much families look forward to this time of year makes the escalating prices feel particularly opportunistic. What made the experience even more frustrating was discovering that many of the activities inside weren't included in the admission price. For example, a short miniature pony ride was an additional $7 per child, just to walk in a circle for a couple of minutes. After paying $30 per person simply to enter, we had hoped more of these experiences would be included. Then there was the food. My husband purchased a pulled pork sandwich for $17, and we paid $10 for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for our young daughter. Neither included a side or drink. Between admission and a couple of sandwiches, our family spent approximately $100. My father, who accompanied us separately, spent another $50 for his admission and one pulled pork sandwich. Collectively, we spent around $150, without even participating in the additional paid activities. What bothers me most is the bigger picture. Families are already facing tremendous financial pressures, and places like Mortimer Farms should be somewhere parents can take their children to enjoy a wholesome, memorable day without feeling like every experience comes with another charge. I fully support family-owned businesses and understand the need to remain profitable. But there's a difference between reasonable seasonal pricing and making a family outing feel financially excessive. For years, Mortimer Farms has been a place we've looked forward to visiting and sharing with others. It's genuinely sad to feel that a tradition we once loved is becoming one we can no longer justify financially. I sincerely hope the owners reconsider this pricing structure and recognize that maintaining an affordable, welcoming experience for the families who have supported this farm for years is just as important as its financial success.

Bright, clean, and refreshing without being overly sweet. It tastes like it came straight from the source because it did. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive. One of the women working there offered to help multiple times, whether it was carrying things up to the front or answering questions about the different citrus options.
