We got into Sedona pretty late in the evening and just needed a few things to cover us for the evening and for breakfast. We were able to find the teas that we needed (specifically a tea to help with constipation and for sleep) and breakfast for both meat-eaters and non meat eaters. Being that we were pretty tired, it was nice to have a compact grocery store to find everything we needed rather than a gigantic box store. I shop frequently @ Natural Grocers. N. G. atmosphere was excellent with past manager, Salvador Manager. Another professional supervisor is Ian. He has good customer problem solving skills but I don't feel confident with supervisor Daisy Hendry. I shared a short story about two children left in their vehicle with no supervision. Approximately, a weeks and half ago and within eye sight of the door of Natural Grocers. First about an infant and the other with a toddler. In fact, one N.G. worker, named Salvador; he participated in leaving an infant unsupervised in the car. After having conversation with Daisy, There didn't seem to be any understanding. Very scary! "Small Town Charm, Big Grocery Win!" Natural Grocers gave me everything I didn't know I needed ... a peaceful, welcoming shopping experience with that small-town grocery feel that's getting harder to find these days. We stopped in while visiting Sedona, and after a few not-so-warm encounters elsewhere in town, this place was a breath of fresh air. The staff were genuinely kind and even tossed out a few food tips while we browsed ... always a plus in my book! The store itself felt like Trader Joe's cooler, quieter cousin ... great selection, organic options, clean layout, and (bonus!) no crowd battles in the aisles. They had everything we needed without overwhelming us. Overall, it was seamless, pleasant, and one of the better stops we've made while grocery shopping on the road. Great selection of natural and whole foods -- compares favorably to places like Whole Foods and Sprouts Farmers Market. Very similar vibe. This place has the most peculiar opening and closing hours which are specified down to the minute. I don't think they actually enforce it all that much and the clerk didn't know the backstory behind it either. Guess I'll have to email Natural Grocers corporate to figure out who the heck came up with those opening/closing hours... Good deals on things like Kombucha the day that we were there -- beats out competitors by at least 50 cents a bottle or so. read more

I visited Sedona recently, and stopped at the Natural Grocers for a healthy snack. I was very impressed at how clean the store is, and how organized each isle is. The fruits and vegetables were very healthy looking, and everything was priced well. I only had an interaction with the cashier, and he was super friendly! While this trip was very brief to this location, I had a very positive experience. It's very well located in Sedona, and the views are amazing when you walk out the front door. My husband and I stopped in to Natural Grocers to grab a few snacks for our hike. We were blown away by the great prices and variety. We are used to paying an arm and a leg for cleaner food, but someone Natural Grocers is able to offer is for cheaper than I've ever seen. They offer brands like Simple Mills, Mary's, Boulder Canyon for a fraction of the price of competitors like Whole Foods. I wish we had a location where we live-- I'd shop there all the time. Love the company. My go to store for groceries, however this particular store seemed like for a Tuesday ... it was hit by the tourist horde over the weekend and had not recovered! The fruit/veggie area was depleted of almost all seasonal fruit and veggies. The water dispenser was broke. Prices are slightly higher than your other box stores... however NG offers items and brands that are more reliable in ingredients...less GMO/bioengineered products... it does beat out Whole Foods any day. I went here twice on my visit to sedona and had great anxiety both times due to the large number of customers AND EMPLOYEES who were not wearing a mask. The employees set a bad example and dont even try to enforce wearing a mask, as you can see in the picture. Some people are giving Natural Grocers a hard time about their mask policy, and I can't imagine why. I went in this week and about half the customers weren't wearing masks. Masks are required in the city of Sedona, so there is obviously a social problem going on. This is still one of my favorite places to buy health foods. We were looking for kasha for our Thanksgiving dinner. What is kasha? It's a grain, used by Russian Americans in San Francisco. Unfortunately, nobody in Arizona has heard of it. Reviewing grocery stores feels a little odd, but the staff at this location are so damn good, it feels criminal to not review them. I'm not as stoked on the Whole Foods up here in Sedona as I have been with other WF stores across the county, so I was looking for an alternative. Enter Natural Grocers. While their selection may be limited by comparison to WF, they make up for it in service and quality. The suppliments department is overwhelming to say the lead, but the staff members that work that area are like human encyclopedias. It's inspiring. I don't think I've ever met a friendly employee here. Today was the worst. I don't know his name but he was a youngish, tallish, whitish, male with a cockeyed baseball/trucker cap on his longish, curlyish, brown haired head. Ughhhh! He was just out n out so rude! I tried to engage in a tiny bit of conversation and he said he didn't care. Well I said "you probably don't care" and he said "yep"! Ughhhh he pretty much was throwing my produce down the belt and then stopped in the middle of my order and gave me total. I'm like "that's the rest of my stuff"! I was able to find everything that I needed, thanks to the great service I received. I was really happy I went to this instead of WholeFoods. This is small store with a lot of great items! I was able to find my favorite Majestic Garlic spread from near where I live-MURRIETA, Ca. If you haven't tried it you need to! The raw pickled garlic is also amazing. The prices were pretty good and I was able to find some great vegan items. There are great organic items at fair prices! Coming from hawaii, I was very delightfully surprised this store. They have a huge selection of supplements in 4 aisles which is the most I've ever seen in any health food market. Everything else they carry has several selections and priced very reasonably. The store is clean, well organized and lots of parking. Wish we had a Natural Grocer in hawaii! read more

The only place to grocery shop in Sedona What a great company, every little detail about it! Bring your own bags or they will provide you with recycled carrying material. Their prices beat everyone in town for quality food choices. They are good to their employees and I have heard people say that they like working for them. As somebody who really doesn't like going into Whole Foods unless I have to, I was ecstatic to see that there was a Natural Grocers in Sedona. We went in here for a few things throughout our trip including protein bars, hummus, and kombucha. We were really impressed with their selection of vegan bars and snacks, and it seems like they have more than the other NG stores near our home. They also had a few local products like vegan ranch dip which I was excited to see. The store was clean enough, although the bathrooms were not. The staff were friendly and answered all of the questions we had happily. Dirty bathroom aside, we really liked this location and plan on going back when in Sedona. read more

When Grocers opened, we had New Frontiers, until they got gobbled up by Whole Foods and everything went down hill. These places rule school. I've been to the one in Prescott and now here in Sedona; choosing to review the Sedona one since it's pretty much one of the only reasonably-priced places for anything in that shameful tourist trap of a town- and it's a freakin' health food store! I couldn't believe some of the deals compared to other health food stores (Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, the like), and they have most everything you'd need for a full grocery shop instead of having to go to TJs for this, Fry's for that, Whole Foods for that. I'm just disappointed they haven't opened up in Phoenix. Oh yeah, and they have a "community area" where you can chill for lunch; besides seating, it includes coffee, a microwave, and even a stove! To give you an idea of price, the woman and I went in for lunch- between the two of us, we got three frozen meals- two were with non-GMO wild caught salmon, and one was an Amy's brand frozen concocotion (read: generally pricey). She also got a bag of frozen, organic raspberries. We filled both of my 64 oz. containers with reverse osmosis water up front. Hearing all that, what would YOU guess the price point to be? NOPE, YOU'RE WRONG. The answer is just under $13. $13 for an organic lunch for two? Try beating that at any fancy-pants hippie diner- and you don't even have to "tip the hips!" So, yeah, love these places. read more

Oh yeah, this place is fantastic! Clean and well stocked and I have never seen so many varieties of kombucha in one place! They have an enormous vitamin/supplement area and I was able to pick up some items that I usually have to obtain via mail order since they are a bit esoteric. Plenty of great, fresh organic produce and lots of unusual and healthy snacks. We got a bag of tortilla chips that were made with adzuki beans and they were delicious. If you're in the area, come here rather than Whole Foods. A great selection, nice people, and crystals by each cashier to smooth out any rough edges. read more

A new store, which mostly overlaps with supplying the same needs as New Frontiers (which has been here for a long time.) Some prices are cheaper, and has a slightly different selection, which overall is smaller, but nice to have a second organic grocery option in town. Prices are normal for organic type groceries in the area, which seem a bit higher than than the national average (almost as much as big cities like SF), but that is typical of Sedona. I think the price complaints in other reviews are from people comparing the prices to the low end grocery stores in the area, which is inappropriate, because they are clearly a different market and offering. read more
