Visiting Sedona is magical in itself, but discovering ChocolaTree Organic Vegetarian Eatery, a…read morecharming little restaurant tucked away in the desert that makes you feel as though you've entered an enchanted forest, is pure paradise! A friend from New Jersey (and I'm from California!) recommended this hidden gem, and when a lovely woman named Navi from A Nu Key Tours picked me up in her Jeep, we were off on an adventure! Navi asked where I wanted to go, and I excitedly told her about ChocolaTree. During our conversation, I asked if she had eaten. She said yes. Then I asked, "Have you ever tried vegan food?" She replied, "Not really." That's when I had an idea! I asked if she would be comfortable joining me at the restaurant. She sweetly agreed, although she mentioned that she would probably just have some tea. Little did she know, I was already thinking this might be the perfect opportunity to introduce her to the wonderful world of vegan cuisine! But neither of us could have anticipated what was awaiting us. The moment you drive up to ChocolaTree, you feel as though you're entering an enchanted forest. Surrounded by lush greenery, it's almost impossible to believe you're still in the middle of the Sedona desert. With every step, you feel as though you're wandering deeper into the woods, leaving the outside world behind and discovering a magical little paradise hidden among the trees. There's something so special about finding a place that feels completely removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The contrast between Sedona's magnificent red rocks and this lush, peaceful sanctuary is breathtaking. We decided to turn our visit into a little culinary adventure of its own! I ordered the Green Goddess Salad and the Vegan Pesto Margherita, and what a delightful experience it was to share these dishes with Navi. Every bite seemed to add a little more love to our hearts and a little more sparkle to our eyes. It was one of those beautiful moments when food becomes more than nourishment. It becomes an experience that brings people together. And just when we thought the afternoon couldn't get any sweeter, we finished with two little pieces of chocolate that practically melted in our mouths. Oh, what a heavenly way to end our meal! Sometimes the smallest bites leave the biggest impressions. And to think, what began as a simple ride to a restaurant turned into an unexpected adventure with a lovely new friend, delicious food, and a magical setting that made the day unforgettable. Sometimes the most magical moments happen when we least expect them. Sedona reminded me once again that paradise isn't always a destination. Sometimes it's an experience, a connection, and the beautiful surprises waiting just around the corner. ChocolaTree, thank you for creating a little piece of paradise in the desert. You didn't just feed our bodies. You nourished our souls.

Everything was gluten free and soy free with dairy free options. My mom had the quiche with broccoli and cheddar cheese (not dairy free) she enjoyed it. I had the savory toast. With a poached egg. Also good. They also had an artist there playing acoustic music. His voice was very raw and beautiful. I don't know if he plays there often. But if he does, I would suggest going to see him. His name was Damiyr

Also party the reason we ended up there since parking was hard to come by. As an Asian, I gravitated to the Chicken & Kimchi Rice Bowl immediately. The bowl was packed with protein. Not a problem to have... but there was too much sodium in the bowl and only a short line of rice at the very bottom. There was definitely more than just chicken in it. There was also an herb that didn't quite belong making it more Mediterranean tasting than Asian. I also didn't find the kimchi. I doubt there was any actually. Same went for the burrito, it was very protein heavy. Again, not a problem to have but I was seeking balance. I suppose it's not the same for everyone. The lattes were okay. It's the same as any other latte. The service staff were nice and friendly though. Bathroom was located at the far back of the neighboring store. Be prepared that it is a one-stall bathroom. Make sure to knock if it's locked. In my case, I did knock but I guess I wasn't heard cause the person inside just took their time. I would have loved to enjoy the next door store but I wasn't happy with my experience already so off we went.
