Wow. Incredible find. Supremo Tamale was off the charts delicious…read more Personable, fast service. Authentic A+. Don't hesitate to stop in.

Ok so I was so excited to go here. There is something really comforting about a tamale done right!…read moreThe glowing reviews and pictures seemed promising. The restaurant itself has a lot of character, it full of textures and colors, had a cute little fountain outside. It just feels homey and welcoming. The menu...is hella pricey for a tamale. I mean even with inflation these days I could get a tamale at most spots where I live for like half the price. I just told myself it's Sedona just except it lol so I went wild and got their extra special tamale with lots of topping to make it a more complete meal. I chose the chicken mole for my filling. I also got their dairy free horchata. First thing the horchata was delicious! Creamy, great texture, not to sweet, seasoned just right. Extra points for being dairy free as milk is not my bodies friend. The tamale however was a major let down. I was so close to just sending it back, but was on a time crunch and starving. The masa was so salty. The mole sauce was barely existent and had no complexity or flavor really. I didn't taste the chocolate or the Chile . Just blah. The toppings and horchata helped make it possible to consume despite the saltiness. So overpriced salty tamale gets 2 stars, ambiance 5, and horchata 5, which is why this place gets a three stars overall. I wanted to love this spot so bad, and maybe it was a bad day, or the wrong thing to get...but their name is literally tamaliza. Their tamale should have rocked my world.

Oh what an INCREDIBLE offering (all gluten-free, all vegetarian menu) in Sedona. Esp for those with…read moregluten sensitivities, it's a safe haven. Service was amazing too - attentive, friendly & joyous. Menu is innovative and while we didn't vibe with the taste of every item we tried, we enjoyed how healthy and gut friendly the food was. They say all their food is prepared in-house and is never from a can. Their dessert selection is amazing (tried the freshly baked vegan, GF scone which was soooo yum). The chocolates were good too but a tad overpriced imho. And omg, the seating in this restaurant is something else... there's PLENTY of inside and outdoor seating, incl their magical garden area.

went after a chilly & rainy hike at devil's arch & it was a lovely place to warm up! absolutely…read moreloved the atmosphere & decor. great allergen-friendly & healthy food selection (i am gluten free & i believe everything on their menu is gluten free & vegetarian!) i got the activate "who needs coffee" latte & MAN was it GOOD! i did get it without the coconut oil, but i was worried it would taste too earthy but it genuinely was better than their actual hot chocolate (& tasted more like hot chocolate)! description: an infusion of supercharged vitality with supertonic chinese herbs & nutrient dense mesquite pod flower, chlorella, cacao powder, chaga, reishi, astragalus, rhodiola, cordyceps, magnolia bud, gynostemma, ophiopogon, eleuthero, shilajit, bamboo leaf, luo han gua, sea salt, in house made almond milk with coconut oil & maple for food, i got a side of 3 bean chili (navy, kidney & turtle beans, celery, bell pepper, onion, garlic, minced jalapeño, & cilantro) & a side of roasted sweet potato. i will say, the food was a bit cold BUT the workers were more than happy to warm it up/remake it for us. both dishes were great -- the sweet potatoes were soft & the beans were delicious. my sister also got the three bean chili & enjoyed it, my dad got the fiesta bowl & ate it all, & my mom really liked her corn chowder stew. we got two dosas, but didn't really like them at all/find them to be an authentic dosa. we also had to get some chocolates, of course! i chose the honey banana chocolate truffle (did not like) & maple hazelnut ganache blonde truffle (LOVED!). we also got the maple café mocha (my dad liked it), honey raspberry tart truffle, maple roasted pistachio blonde ganache truffle, maple lil peanut butter cup (my sister liked this one), & the maple chocolate chai truffle. they also offer a selection of medicinal/herbal/hippie/crystal products which were fun to browse. fun place! would recommend & come again if we ever visit sedona again. their outdoor patio seems lovely but it was cold & rainy.

Wow, what an incredible meal! My hubby made a reservation exactly one month ago because this place…read moregets packed, and now I completely understand why. I feel so lucky to have tried it! The elote appetizer was bursting with a charred corn flavor and coated in a creamy, tangy sauce with just the right amoun of spice. The goat cheese balls were crispy on the outside and warm ant flavorful in the inside, and the freshness of the veggies with each bite was absolutely balancing. For the mains, I had the smoked pork cheek, which was unbelievably tender and savory. My hubby's shrimp and pork belly dish was cooked nicely. It was juicy and well cooked shrimp with tender pork belly that combined nice with the sauce. Both dishes were easily 9/10 or higher. The salsa deserves a shoutout too. It was fresh and chunky, with a nice balance of heat and flavor. We finished with the Mexican chocolate pie, and that was rich and decadent, and not overly sweet. Absolutely to die for. MUST TRY!

Our first visit to Sedona was magical except for two less than impressive things: the roundabouts…read morethat was worst than going to the dentist and our take out food from Elote Cafe that was only good to vortex it down the drain. (Please look at my photo of the sad leftovers). We had written down all of the suggestions of things to do in Sedona and Elote Cafe was at the top of our list of things to do. Apparently getting a reservation at this place is super difficult to get, so we decided to order takeout. Elote dip, pork cheeks, green tamale, carne asada, pork belly tacos and corn cake for dessert. The elote dip was enjoyable especially when eaten with chips, the green tamale was better off used as a trampoline at a kids party (it was spongy, flavorless and possibly good to scrub your dishes), the carne asada was dead like the cow it came from and flavorless, the pork belly tacos were barely edible because of the overwhelming sour taste of lemon, and last but least was the corn cake, it was dry and about as exciting as a retirement home party. We wasted our money thinking that a place with a waiting list to get on would be an experience just like everything else we experienced in Sedona but instead Elote Cafe is a bad tourist trap that has as much charm and taste as Del Taco. Save your money and look elsewhere for some great Mexican inspired food even if it means you need to travel to Tucson.
