1 Star - Deeply Unethical and Exploitative Clinic My Dr Now is, without exaggeration, one of the most unethical and money-driven clinics I've ever encountered. They will find any possible way to charge you -- and they're getting remarkably creative about it. You will be charged just for filling out the intake paperwork, so do yourself a favor and decline it. Without a single discussion, they'll start running tests like 12-lead ECGs and urinalyses, only for you to discover later that you've been billed for every single one. There is zero informed consent, just a constant stream of surprise charges. You will also be charged a convenience fee for them being open weekends and later hours. It wont matter what time or day you are seen, you get charged. Their business model is transparently predatory. Even routine prescriptions are a setup -- they'll give you one refill or none at all, forcing you back in for unnecessary "follow-up exams" just to renew essential medications. I watched an elderly man plead for his cardiac meds, only to be told he needed a full exam despite being seen four weeks prior. It was heartbreaking and infuriating. To make matters worse, I was offered to have my "annual exam fee waived" if I left them a 5-star review -- which is not only dishonest but potentially illegal (quid pro quo). Spoiler: the fee was not waived. These clinics are expanding quickly, but make no mistake -- they are not here to help people. I'm having ADMINISTRATIVE trouble w the greater organization, encountering indifference, disconnect, & ridiculous word games. For instance, I was TURNED AWAY at the counter, unable to see my doctor for importand/urgent medical care after arriving at my appt. Even though I had registered my appt & confirmed multiple reminder texts, NEVER did I get any head's up that my insurance would no longer cover their clinic. I had NO CHOICE than to cough up $99 right now to see the dr. My Dr Now claims my insurance provider dropped them a week or two prior. My insurance company insists My Dr Now dropped them. I'm seeking answers and accountability for NO NOTICE of this radical, seemingly instantaneous change. My Dr Now member services MANAGER said they didn't & would never "turn me away." (Yeah, right, they canceled my appt there at the counter unless I instantly produced money. No accommodations, no clear answers about what changed from 2 wks ago & all my paperwork validation of insurance, just "sorry, not our fault-- you always have the choice to go w insurance or pay up front. It's YOUR choice, WE wouldn't turn you away. Then, No I can't get you more answers, your concern isn't my dept. ​ On-site Dr & personnel are fantastic!! But the word games and refusal to to assist w my confusing situation leaves me feeling invisible & without reliable medical care. What if I wouldn't have had a payment method on me? Wonderful experience. I'll just be up front and say it was a long wait and setting up my profile with a bad Wi-Fi sucked. But other than that it was great. The staff was excellent. Up front Sylvia was very kind, helpful and professional. In the back the Medical assistant Amelia was awesome. Very kind, friendly and helpful. I felt like she was my new best friend :) After a wait in exam room ... Ashley Ortiz came in and helped me. I was able to call and easily make an appointment that fit my schedule, Business hours are outstanding! Deanna at the front desk cheerfully greeted me upon arrival, and got me started on the required paper work. Upon completion, she quickly got my profile into their system. In just a couple minutes, Amelia took me to a patient room, very friendly and professional, took care of the usual tasks. Provider Mary A. was quick to follow. The follow up with this provider is non existent. I tried for over a week to get a medication refilled and was not able to. Even though it is a maintenance drug, they refused to fill the prescription, and my labs were current. This clinic and the various hours created to provide their patients the convenient hours for those that aren't able to do Monday through Friday nine to five are fantastic ! Haneen Ahmed, is a phenomenal nurse practitioner who listens and follows through with her staff and her assistants that work with your insurance carrier to get you the specialist referrals necessary to help with specific treatment you may need in a timely manner. She has a positive and sympathetic personality. She's very attentive, easy to speak to as well as caring and empathetic to the needs of myself, her patient. She really listens and helps you come up with a health plan that is right for you. Her staff are delightful and professional as well as maintaining a hygienically clean clinic. Plenty of parking spaces as well as disabled parking spaces. The online process on My Dr Now website or App is very simple and quick to setting up appointments to registering when you first arrive making your ability to see Haneen that much faster. It's so hard to find a good doctor anymore. My boss recommended My Dr Now and I am extremely grateful she did. Dr. Daniella is AMAZING. She takes her time with you and suggests any resources that are necessary. She was able to get my autistic daughter to let her draw labs on her and convinced her to take vitamins daily within the first 20 minutes of meeting her. I have been trying to get my daughter to get labs and take vitamins for many many years and never succeeded. This lady is a miracle. :) read more

Sitting here in the exam room a 10:40am with a 9:40 am appt. Pre checked in, I did my part. I had to complete all my health forms again because they don't have it on file. 2nd time. I want to share a negative experience I had not in today's visit but my last one, at which I attended with my domestic partner. He was presenting with a sore on his groin that was extremely painful. We were asked to give blood for an STI panel which was a misrepresented drug test which came back positive. The doctor declared the blemish the result of an STD and our "lascivious homosexual party lifestyle" and loudly speculated amongst other staff where we must be hiding our (nonexistant) injection marks... the accusation rocked the very foundation of our loving committed exclusive relationship, an accusation which ultimately led to the dissolution of our partnership. No antibiotics or treatments were prescribed. Hours later my partner was doubled over languishing in extreme pain with no help to be found. The sore ultimately turned out to be MRSA, as we had suggested. He could have suffered permanent injury from one discriminatory doctors negligence. Not to mention the emotional harm she inflicted. I went to My Dr Now to get tested for Covid. Immediately I was greeted by three of the most kind, helpful ladies who could not be friendlier. My wait to see the doctor was relatively short considering that I was a walk-in. I was greeted by Daniella and Ashley who were awesome. Due to lack of insurance I could not afford the Covid test. One of the medical receptionists went above and beyond to help me in obtaining a test that I could afford. Was so touched by her generosity and kindness. At the end of my visit all five ladies thanked me for coming in with genuine warmth and friendliness. I received the best customer service and highly recommend this medical practice. read more

They are the worst company and doctors office you could ever go to. I would never let anybody I know come here. Every time I have an appointment scheduled I still have to wait for an hour to be seen. Not only do you have to wait long periods of time. The staff is super rude and every time I go in there I feel I don't matter to the physicians or nurses. They are only there for the money not the people. It wasn't just me, either. My boyfriend has also had the same issue. He had an appointment scheduled and he wasn't seen til an hour later. After being seen, the doctor tried to send him by ambulance to the ER. Although we drove there instead. After being in the hospital and discharged an hour later. He was told that there was nothing wrong with him. The ER doctor even laughed at my boyfriend and was like "why are you here? There is nothing wrong." He was sent to the ER because of a misreading on My DR Now's machine. Which the lady he saw failed to do correctly to get a correct reading. Afterwards I tried making a complaint to management. They completely ignored me. They did not return my phone call. I had to call them. As I was trying to let management know about their staff and how they are incapable of doing their jobs. I would like to see improvement on the staff. She was rude the whole time like her staff and she did not care to listen to my concerns. The doctor there and office staff are great. Unfortunately, dealing with the call center and corporate policies, I have to find a new doctor. I was running out of my thyroid medication and down to just a couple of pills left. i just got out of surgery and needed just one refill until I could get back in for my labs to be done. I called to speak with my docto office and the corporation informed me that I was unable to speak with the office and would need to make an appointment and they did not care that I just had surgery. I got upset and she just kept repeating the corporate policy to me. This is not a way I want to be dealt with when just needing a refill for an extra month when just coming out of surgery. I got the sniffles and started feeling bad, with a runny nose and typical feeling like I had a head cold. I went into My DR Now on Ellsworth And Brown, next-door to Bashas grocery store. It took forever to get to see the doctor, which in this case turned out to be Geri or Jeri, which is a PA. I asked her if my symptoms looked like COVID. Her assistant had done a Covid test, but told me that she couldn't tell the difference between a common cold and Covid. I would have to wait three or four days to see if I had Covid. She said she would send me a prescription of Augmentin to my pharmacy. I got home and waited all day yesterday and all day today and no call from my pharmacy. So I called them and they said they had not gotten any prescription from this facility for me. I called the MY DR NOW facility main number and got the message back that they would get it to the pharmacy by the end of the day! I'm angry because I could've had that prescription yesterday and perhaps been on my way to feeling better. But here they are going to wait until the end of the day and not even make it a priority TO GET THAT PRESCRIPTION IN. It should have been done the minute that PA had a minute between patients because they dropped the ball. The second issue I have with this place is that there is nothing on the front door stating that masks are mandatory. I went in with a mask and the receptionist was wearing a Mask. So pretty soon a couple walks in with a woman coughing and coughing and spewing virus all over the place, And she was not wearing a mask. She sat they're coughing for a while, obviously very sick, but not covering her mouth while coughing, until she was called up to the receptionist and the receptionist at that time finally said she had to wear a mask and handed her and her boyfriend a mask. But the damage was already done. I am amazed that this place does not have a signed stating that masks coming into a facility like that are mandatory. The CDC rules are that they are supposed to post that masks are mandatory. I asked them why they don't have a mandatory mask sign, and was told that the doctors and staff decided that it was not necessary.!!! Sorry, but I have to say that I would avoid this place like the plague because now not only do I have a cold, I may be getting Covid too, thanks to the maskless Coughing woman and the waiting room. read more

I purchased new insurance when I moved to Arizona, and when the primary care provider I had chosen through my insurance company's website turned out to be no longer affiliated with them, they referred me to My Dr. Now. I needed referrals to several specialists, as I am recovering from throat cancer and pituitary tumor surgery. I was a little put off by the office I visited, but the doctor I saw seemed like a nice enough guy and he said that if I set up a MyChart account, he'd write the referrals and they would appear there. To make a long story short, half of the referrals were with specialists who would not accept my insurance. In one case, I set up an appointment with an endocrinologist and waited three weeks, only to be told when I arrived that they wouldn't accept my insurance. At first I thought it was the insurance company's fault, but it turned out to be a problem with My Doctor Now. I then got a replacement referral, but when I called them they would not take me either. I had to request a third referral, and they referred me back to the first office, despite my having told them previously that they wouldn't take me. I'm dealing with an extremely comfortable situation that can easily be treated by an endocrinologist, and two months after my frst attempt to book an appointment I am still untreated and my situation has become even more painful. I had a similar situation with several other specialists. In fact, out of a total of ten referrals received, half of them were useless, and one was for a doctor I did not request. The urologist to whom I was referred was, frankly, lousy, as was the colorectal specialist. Finally -- and I think this is particularly sketchy -- one of the specialists my doctor referred me to is apparently a close family member. Isn't that a conflict of interest? I really regret going to My Doctor Now in the first place. I'm tempted to call it the "Jack in the Box of Medical Providers," but even Jack in the Box gets their orders right. The fast-food mentality is very much in evidence, however. This is not a place to go when you need serious medical care. I have been fortunate to have received excellent medical care in the past, and I should have taken a little more time and found a legitimate medical group that provides quality care and referrals to qualified specialists who will actually take my insurance. I will not be going back to My Doctor Now, and I would suggest that anyone seeking a doctor look elsewhere. read more

I was see at the Ellsworth and Brown location on 11/21/21 by Jerri FNP. While I was at the clinic everything went well she was thorough with her exam give me a diagnosis of double ear infection and severe sinus infection, she verified the location of where I wanted the RX's sent, when I showed up to the pharmacy about an hour later they said they did not have any prescriptions for me. I then called the phone number on my paperwork only to get a voicemail saying that they are closed (they close at 4:00 on Sundays) I leave a voice mail explaining that the pharmacy doent have an RX for me in there system. It is now Monday at around 10:30 a.m. And I still hadn't received a phone call, so called them. After many phone calls and even me driving back to Md Now and my husband camping out at the pharmacy for 2.5 hours he is finally on his way home with my prescriptions at 8:45 p.m. This company is so unprofessional and once you leave there clinic you are no longer "first priority" per customer service rep. read more

I was so happy with the health care I was receiving from my dr now on Broadway rd and ellsworth. However at the beginning of the year after my husband tested positive for covid and then our daughter then tested positive, however she was never given any kind of medication. Our daughter was in and out of their office almost 2 a week due to nausea and extremely tired. Again she was tested for covid again and again was positive, After her going through through this almost 2 months straight and she finally got medication to help her. I take myself into the dr on 5/11/21 due to increasing pain in my back. I go yesterday to let the dr know what is going on. I let him know everything that has been going on, he let's me know he'll send me to an orthopedics office. Now with my insurance, I know I have to get a referral. With that being said I did ask if there was anything he can give me to help with this horrible pain. His answer all he did was shake his head no. I can not believe that a doctors office that claims they are a place for primary care. How is this casting fit patients when first, they keep making your daughter suffer with covid. Second if a patient is in pain why can't this office help their patients until they get in the specialist they are needing since we have to get sent to a specialist for EVERYTHING, I do understand that. Will be looking for another family doctor for sure now. No, my pain to me is not worth a trip to the er. Im only at a 7, but it's enough to make life a living HELL right now. I typically have had nothing but wonderful, customer oriented service with the variety of providers I've seen with My Dr Now; I began seeing providers at the Elliott Road clinic, then moved three years ago, and have received inconsistent care. I go to the clinic on Main and Dobson in Mesa. The front desk staff, and the majority of providers have been professional and compassionate. In general, I value the business model of this practice and the timeliness of their care. On Sunday, February 2nd I saw a new (to me) provider, Maureen Gay, NP. My appointment was as a result of an emergency room visit from a fall, wherein I'd broken my fibula and my wrist. I had requested medication for pain during my visit, due to the orthpedic injuries. Broken bones are very painful. In spite of having an active list, dosage, etc. of all my medications, Nurse Practioner Gay assumed I was drug seeking, accused me of methampehtamine abuse, failed to do a follow up blood pressure re-check, did not check my pulse, breathing, etc. She became hyper focused on her power ... to deny me appropriate medical care. I am 40 years sober, have many medications which are prn, etc. She failed to make any attempt to check my file, my intent, etc. She was grossly unprofessional, made assumptions, and seemed to make judgements about who I am. I wouldnt take a wounded dog to see her. I've made several calls to find resoution; while the customer service techs are sympathetic, I've yet to have any resolution to this unprofessional and uncaring event....that She was Paid for. Be very cautious when you arrive ... and always have documentation and/or another person in the room with you. read more

I have never left a review on anything before and I downloaded the yelp app just to leave this one. This place is horrible, they don't care about you at all. The PA looked at my issue and told me if it gets worse to call him the next day. I woke up in a lot of pain not being able to see clearly and I waited until they opened at 8, I called and talked to the customer support people and they were worse then the in office staff! I ended up not being able to talk to the PA and they said he will call in the prescription in a few hours! I asked if I should just go in and they said "that's your choice" and HUNG UP ON ME......... it's insane! I have used this place for years, if you get out the door for $99 you're lucky, they go on the up sell attack every time. The conduct of the physician's is hit and miss, one day you'll get a highly skilled and polite Doctor or PA to work with, and other times, you get someone who I wouldn't even allow them to exam my dog. Today I had one simple task, please help getting my prescriptions filled, simple right ? No, I was told I need a mask (I have COPD) so I put a mask on, the next person that came in, didn't need a mask ? So obviously I was curious, so I asked the physician about the requirements and she first said I can't answer that and then proceeded to give me a total bs story explaining to me how she was offended and I made her feel trapped ? Judging by her unfriendly and unprofessional conduct, this was going to be a very short visit. So then I call the main number to offer feed back and I got, oh we'll have to call you back, the manager is busy, ok, but no call back. As I've said it's hit and miss, at one time they had a physician on staff that mistakenly doubled a dose on one of my prescriptions, when I brought this to their attention, the attitude was no big deal, that person doesn't work here anymore. I started going to MyDoctorNow in Mesa on Main St. about a year ago after a friend of mine referred me. Then my job changed and the one on Ellsworth was closer. So I started going there. The facility was clean, and for the most part private. The doctor did ok, but see, I was there to get my IUD removed and for whatever reason the doctor couldn't find it. So she sent me to get an ultrasound at one company(Simon Med(fuck them)) and they tried to make me pay my coinsurance up front $500.00. So I called the doctor's office and they sent me to EVDI, I literally sat there for 1 hour for them to bring me back into another waiting room for another 45 minutes for the tech to tell me that the doctor GAVE THEM THE WRONG ORDER!. They needed a vaginal ultrasound ordered, and my doctor gave them an abdominal ultrasound, and it would take FOREVER to get the doctor's office on the phone to get the correct one. I haven't called the doctor back to reschedule because I am afraid of what my reaction will be. read more
