We had DJ Alex as the DJ for our wedding and he was amazing. Prior to the event he met with us and went over all the details to make sure everything was perfect. The day of the event, he absolutely crushed his DJ set. He had the dance floor crowded from the time the music started all the way until the end of our wedding. When the wedding was over and the music stopped, I saw many guests go over to high five him and acknowledge just how much they enjoyed the music. I also received many compliments about how good the music was. Beyond the music, he did such a good job as the MC for our wedding and he really brought the energy all night long. They offered free virtual meetings with the DJs we were interested in and they even provide a sample of what the music DJing would sound like with just a theme/era of music. My DJ was Alex! He was truly amazing! All of my friends at the party asked me, " Where did you find him?" I got lucky and found him by googling for a DJ. Alex called me and I immediately liked him. We met 3 times on Zoom. I was really impressed because he helped me plan my party, which was a bonus I did not expect!. He was so thorough and had great suggestions. He gave me the confidence I needed to go ahead and hire a DJ and throw myself an epic 60th Birthday/ New Year's Eve Bash! He offered me the additional choice to have him Emcee my party. We hired DJ Magic for our wedding, and while he was friendly, he unfortunately did not deliver on our requests. 1. Leading up to the wedding, we met with him weekly and spent significant time filling out the DJ website with every song we wanted played--songs that were deeply meaningful to us. None of them were played, which was very disappointing. 2. We asked him to make a simple announcement inviting anyone who wanted to give a speech, but specifically requested that he not approach guests directly or pressure them. He did the opposite, making people feel uncomfortable pressuring them to give a speech. 3. He did not play the correct version of our song as we were announced as husband and wife and walked down the aisle, nor did he play the correct song for our reception entrance. This was extremely disappointing and only further showed that he wasn't familiar with the website we had thoroughly completed. 4. During my husband's welcome speech, he was still putting his tie on, which came across as unprofessional. It also seemed like he was not familiar with the DJ website, despite us carefully completing every section with our chosen songs. Overall, the experience was not what we had hoped for, and it left us disappointed. read more

DJ Magic did a lovely job for my daughter and her partner's wedding reception. We had a BUNCH of special requests, many of which came in just a few days before the wedding (note that I'm NOT recommending this, but it just happened). DJ Magic took all of our requests in stride, and he was a calm and friendly counterpart to our crazy last minute race to the finish line! We followed his directions and made different playlists in Spotify that he could easily pull from. On the wedding day, he worked with the brides to get the timing of the entrance song that they were singing. We appreciated his hard work and helpfulness. In addition, we were having a bit of difficulty finding a version of Hava Nagila that we liked (we wanted it to start slow, get faster, not too long or short, etc) and Alex, also from MyDJs, stepped in and put together a perfect Hava Nagila mix for us! DJ Alex is the best DJ period! He DJed our wedding on 5/4/2024 and was masterful! Booking DJ Alex was also the most fun process. He jumped on a call with us, did a live DJ session via Zoom with no prep from us but managed to play all of our favorite songs. After the zoom session he sent us the music recording which we listened to for months leading up to the wedding. About two weeks before the wedding he did another call with us to go over the schedule, setup, music choices, and was so helpful and professional. At our wedding he was the best hype man and played all of our favorite songs. Per our request, he also customized the first dance song, father daughter dance song, and mother son dance song so they were shorter and much more fun to dance to. Everyone at our wedding was raving over DJ Alex's work and the dance floor was never empty. Just had my wedding yesterday with DJ Zuni and he did so good of a job that I had to write my review right away. DJ Zuni is a magician! He really knows how to work a crowd. We had 45 guests with mostly friends in their 20s and some parents in their 50s. Everyone had a great time. He knew when to switch up the genre. He knew when to hype up someone dancing in the middle of the crowd. It was incredible. The planning process was very organized as well. MyDJs sets you up with a web portal to specify your exact music preference and to pick your song schedule. They also do an initial meeting to make sure the DJ is a right fit for you. I liked that so much because I didn't know the first thing about picking a good DJ! Lastly, DJ Zuni accommodated a surprise song that I wanted to sing for my bride. We worked together to make sure my best man's piano was compatible with his system. We made sure to do a sound check with the microphone ahead of time. It worked out perfectly. So grateful to Aaron. Our DJ (Christian Baeza) was there promptly and set up on time, really professional there. Im not sure if he just didn't understand what we wanted, or what went wrong. We provided a playlist - If he would have focused on that, im sure my review would be better. He just didn't read the room well. He also played a song on the DO NOT play list. And he got a little rude about that to my sister in law, and then me. Once he finally started playing our songs, people were up and dancing. And we were feeling better about it. But we did miss out on a lot of songs we were looking forward to. We still enjoyed our party - the DJ experience just could have been better. The PhotoBooth was fun - hindsight, we should have booked it longer, or later in the party. That was totally our mistake! My DJs provided us with an incredible experience throughout the wedding planning process and made our wedding the most fun and beautiful event we could have hoped for. We hired MY DJs in 2020, two years in advance of our wedding. Much change happened during the time of hiring and our event, however, MYDJs was very accommodating throughout. After DJ Earl's passing, we were assigned a DJ which after meeting with him and some subsequent conversations, we did not think the new DJ was a good fit for us. MY DJs worked with us, which is how we got to DJ Hamm, who was the perfect DJ for our event. Very professional and very organized group. He played the songs we absolutely wanted to hear, but like a well skilled DJ was able to play songs that kept the vibe going. My wife also had a very customized request for her dad/daughter dance song, and DJ Hamm made it perfect. In regards to the photobooth, we could not have been more pleased. It was a hit with the children, and just like DJ Hamm and team, the Photobooth team was also very accommodating. Someone in our party knocked over there whole setup! But they just calmly picked it up and proceeded. Even more impressive, as the bride and groom, my wife and I did not have time to enjoy the photobooth. If you need a DJ to really hype up the crowd, DJ HOT CHOCOLATE is your man (does his DJ name already show how fun he is?!)! What really drew me to MyDJ's is of course DJ Hot Chocolate (I was able to see a video of him introducing himself, his style, and how he interacts with the crowd through the website). I also really liked they had a selfie photobooth to rent all day! DJ Hot Chocolate was so professional, responsive, and really understood the vibe that we wanted for the wedding day. We were able to do a few video/phone calls with him to make sure we were on the same page before the wedding day. He also had so many fun/unique ideas to keep the crowd entertained! My guests were totally wowed by him, and thought our wedding was one the funnest because of him! We are absolutely thrilled we requested to work with My DJ's San Diego, but more specifically due to our fabulous and amazing DJ, Alex. I originally spoke to Alex by myself and going through the DJ's list and listening to the introduction for each DJ, my fiancé (at the time) and I both agreed we had to have Alex as our DJ. Alex was not only professional, eager, and a great listener, he shared feedback, ideas, and offered to go above what we would expect an MC/DJ to do. He was thorough and did a great job following up with us. The day of the wedding, he so incredibly enthusiastic and on top of EVERYTHING and was always 10 steps ahead. My husband and I originally hired a live musician to do the ceremony and cocktail hour; however, the musician was stuck in traffic and wasn't going to make the ceremony. He was quick on his feet and prepared everything for our ceremony and did it perfectly! He would check in with us often and was responsive to our guest. On top of last minute ceremony fiasco, we scratched out the original chosen host of the the shoe game and asked him to run it and he did it perfectly. From before the wedding, to the end of the wedding, DJ Alex went above and beyond our expectations! I cannot express anymore in my own words how fabulous DJ Alex was- so I guess this might help. I had more than a handful of friends/family approach me at our wedding to share high compliments about Alex. In addition, My DJ's offered EVERYTHING we needed!
