Dancing DJ Productions made our wedding planning streamlined, easy to navigate, and catered to our needs. My wife and I are blessed to have been paired up with DJ Allen and his humble, friendly demeanor instantly made us feel warm and confident he would provide an excellent service. And he definitely did. DJ Allen was always available and easily reachable via email if we had any questions. Nicole from Dancing DJ Productions also worked with us to get proper uplighting for our reception and all the prices were affordable and well worth it! Just to note, we added these uplights kind of last minute and they still happily accommodated us. DJ Allen met with us a week prior to the event and he would go over every little detail on the wedding timeline to make sure everything was accounted for. I often had questions that would spontaneously come up and he patiently answered all of them. I seriously have nothing else but good things to say about DJ Allen! Dancing DJ allowed us to customize playlists and request songs through their online portal, which was easy to navigate. If the songs are not searchable through their portal, you have the option to add your own songs. Since our wedding involved some Mandarin songs, Japanese songs, and K-Pop, we really wanted to make sure these were played during the wedding. DJ Allen made it happen. What's even better was that he always triple checked with us with YouTube links that he had the right version because some tracks were remixed or instrumentals. I really love the attention to detail. HUGE PROPs to DJ Allen for playing the Maplestory MMORPG Opening Theme during dinner; our guests LOVED IT!!!!! Lastly, the requested grand entrance songs were all played exactly where our wedding party wanted in terms of timestamps. DJ Allen was also able to take song requests on the spot from any person and played them accordingly. Not only that, the wedding dance floor was never empty and everyone was having so much fun!! It was too much fun that my guests shouted for more songs even after the last song was played and the venue had quiet hours. That's a sign of an amazing DJ that knows how to keep the party going (he definitely wanted to keep going but we had to respect the end time). After so many good reviews, I reached out, and we were able to connect with a couple different DJs that they had available on our date. Honestly, it's hard to choose a DJ just based on their sample mixes, but it was great that we got to jump on video calls with the different DJs to get a feel for who they are and whether we match each other's vibe. My wife and I eventually hired DJ Bryce to be our DJ for the wedding, and he was a hit! While we had friends MC, DJ Bryce controlled the music with a pre-seeded list of songs that we provided him for the ceremony, reception, and dance floor. He was totally open to us providing him with playlist links so that we could get the exact right arrangements. He also worked with our friends who played live music at the ceremony (Keyboard & 2 vocalists) and it was great! The dance floor was a hit all night! Thank you Bryce!!!! The DJ really makes or breaks a wedding reception and Bryce was the DJ of our dreams! He honestly had everyone on the dance floor at one point or another and the dance floor was never empty. He took our "play if possible" songs and created a playlist that kept the vibes up the whole time, being able to adjust as needed based on our guests were vibing with the song. Bryce DJs at clubs, so he can take a song and really take it to the next level by remixing it which truly helped keep everything feel so fresh. We even had our friends coming up to us during the reception saying how great our DJ was, which speaks to how great he is. Dancing DJ Productions was amazing and really brought the party to life. For 6 hours, the price was right where we were budgeting. DJ Dylan was so professional and quick to respond to any inquiries we had in the months leading up to our wedding. There was a little hiccup where the sound went out in the last chorus of a song, but DJ-D was quick to get it back up for the next song. It was such a smooth transition that I didn't realize the music went out until a couple moments later. I'm not sure if this is standard for DJs these days, but my husband and I really loved that there was a portal where we could choose the music for different parts of our event: guest arrival, reception, cocktail hour, dinner, must play, play if possible, and do not play. AND guests could request songs before the wedding too. I thought that was so much cooler than being limited to requesting music on the day of, or guests having to relay their song requests to us. My husband and I just got married last week at the Japanese Friendship Garden (JFG) in Balboa Park, and we're so glad we chose Dancing DJ Productions for our wedding! We worked with Nicole in the beginning, and she was always quick to respond with helpful answers to all of our questions. We got several quotes from different DJs, and Dancing DJ stood out as both the most responsive and the most cost-effective. Since we really wanted to highlight the JFG's natural beauty, Nicole helped advise us on how many uplights we would need to enhance the space well into the evening. When our original event rental company suddenly informed us a month before the wedding that they couldn't hang our paper lanterns, I reached out to Nicole to ask if Dancing DJ offered market lighting. While they didn't, she provided several vendor recommendations--one of which was Platinum. We ended up switching all of our event rentals to Platinum just five days before the wedding due to logistical issues, and we're so grateful for her help in pointing us in the right direction. Dylan was our DJ for the big day, and we had such a great time! He kept the party going all the way until the end. Our ceremony and reception were held in the Courtyard of the lower gardens, with our cocktail hour at the Earth Bridge. Dylan was able to set up sound in both areas seamlessly and handled last-minute changes with total flexibility, including miking my brother, who decided to play a piece on his cello the day before. When our event rental company needed an extra 30 minutes for setup, Dylan still arrived on time at 3 PM to make sure everything--including the 16 uplights--was good to go. A quick tip for other couples: I highly recommend going with Dancing DJ's uplighting. They provided the uplights at about half the cost of what our event rental company quoted. We're also both music people and had very specific song selections throughout the wedding. Dylan was able to easily incorporate our Spotify playlists, and he was even flexible enough to take a few guest requests on the spot! He had a good voice and enunciated well into the mic. He provided handheld mics for the speeches and placed them nearby to who would speak next.
