DJ Paul Peterson was excellent!! We had him for our wedding this past August and he was such a great MC and DJ. Even prior to the wedding (which we actually had to postpone an entire year due to covid, but he totally understood and there we no issues with that), he was incredibly responsive and easy to talk to. He could honestly be a wedding consultant because he spent such a long time with us walking through our day of itinerary and even giving us cute photo tips. You could tell he has done a ton of weddings and knows exactly what to do. He even wanted to coordinate with all of our other vendors such as our photographer, day of coordinator, and our officiant, so that everyone was on the same page so that our wedding day would go smoothly. I created huge playlists for him that were each 10+ hours long and he was so great about picking and choosing what would go well at the cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. He was even super adaptable -- we had some guests who requested some Cambodian traditional music, which we didn't initially have on the playlists, and he was able to accommodate so easily so that all our older family members who didn't know English well would go up and dance too. I wish I could give this guy 10 stars. We recently just hired him for our wedding in mid July after reading his stellar reviews on yelp. My husband was persistant that he didn't want anyone tacky, but he also wanted someone that could fit in our budget. Well that a godsend Paul was. We looked at some of his prior work but it didn't give him justice. People were talking about how amazing our DJ was weeks after our wedding. I know some people from our wedding party went above and beyond and even voted him for the A-list wedding contest that is currently going on. And they even had to sign up for the website just to be able to vote for him, I did the same I hope he gets it. (he's currently 2nd but should be 1st) His value added package was amazing and we got mic's for the pastor and groom in the ceremony for free. He was professional and handled the night perfectly. If anyone is questioning whether they should pick Paul, go meet him and give him a shot. He charges low security deposits, and is a very friendly guy. He come with a whole packet and just wanted to inform us on our first meeting and we didn't feel pressure to sign with him at all. I have to admit we came into the meeting with our walls up and convinced he was going to give us a sales talk, when he didn't we actually went to the car, got our checkbook and put a deposit down on the spot. He had been the 3rd DJ we met with and by far the most affordable and blew all the other DJ's out of the water. I also sent him a list of favorite songs what weren't too well known to the general public, I noticed during the cocktail reception and dinner he added them to the playlist and it really made the night spectacular for me. He must have gone out of his way to add new ones to his collection. I also thought prior to meeting him, that he was "old fashioned" and had CD's, and I knew I wanted a more modern DJ. Well poop, I was wrong, he plays with the latest equipment and MP3's and maybe some CD's ( I can't remember, nor did I even notice) but the music flowed and he mixed the transitions flawlessly. Paul was sweet and had encouraged us to look around and make sure we were 100% on booking him since my husband wasn't able to attend the meeting. However, I knew my mind was already set. Before we left the coffee shop I had given him a deposit. Thank goodness I did because I later found out someone else had attempted to book him the same day! Paul had EVERYONE dancing including my now grandmother who was in her late 80s at the time. Paul is very professional. Top notch. If you need a DJ for your wedding, he is your guy. We came across Paul based off of a recommendation, and I couldn't be happier with our decision for a wedding DJ. He's extremely organized, his years of expertise made the entire event run smoothly, and everyone had an amazing time. Months before the wedding, Paul gave us a Google doc for us to fill in the details for our event. Seriously, every option you could think of was on that sheet. We remained in contact and a few days before the wedding we talked over the phone and went through the entire event from start to finish. Paul had every single detail in order, asked questions to make sure we were all on the same page, and offered a lot of great suggestions that made our wedding go from good to amazing. After our final prep conversation, I knew we were in good hands and much of my wedding stress melted away. On the day of, Paul arrived plenty early and was ready to go. Throughout the whole event he kept communicating our next steps ("As soon as your dad finishes his taco we're going to start the speeches."), kept us on time, and played every song we wanted plus requests from our guests.
