DJ Jaime and Mat were the BEST team to work with! They made me feel so at ease leading up to the wedding. Mat helped me with the timeline and gave me great tips of how to make the reception flow seamlessly and totally improved all of the transitions throughout the night. The dinner music was SO GOOD and SO FUN and got everyone ready to party! We didn't stop dancing or get off the dance floor for 3 hours straight. I was getting double quad cramps but couldn't stop dancing because I was having so much fun and the music was too good! Everyone was telling me all night and after the wedding how good the music and the DJ was. Thank you Jaime for playing all of our annoying Gryffin requests and making my wedding dance party dreams come true! If you want your wedding reception to be a huge, dancey party where people don't stop dancing, hire DJ Jaime and Mat at MVMNT DJs! We wish we could get married every weekend so we can party and dance with our friends and family again! :) THANK YOU!!! read more

We worked with Mat and Mike for our wedding day in Napa and they absolutely killed it. Many of our friends said it was the best wedding dance they had ever been to. Music selection was top notch and the service the provided was all around superb. Highly recommend. They made our wedding day one to remember. read more

Had an absolutely incredible experience with MVMNT DJs for my wedding in August. Mat and Jaime walked us through the process and it made the wedding a breeze. Jaime was our DJ and absolutely killed it !! Our dance floor was full the entire 2 hours. We had some specific requests as to the type of music and at what point during the night and Jaime nailed it. He was also great at making sure the whole wedding flowed properly and made sure everyone heard every word throughout. Can't recommend enough. read more

We had a great time working with Matthew and Luis to put on the music for our reception! They were very easy to work with, paying extreme attention to detail and ensuring they were informed of all the details before our special day. We experienced no technical difficulties and EVERYONE danced!! It was an amazing wedding for us, and it wouldn't have been the same without DJ LG! Thank you MVMNT DJS! read more

Let me just say that MVMNT DJs are the best at what they do. We had DJ Rufio serve as our MC/DJ for our wedding in Oct 2020. From the beginning, he was there for us and made sure everything went smoothly since the world had descended into chaos due to the pandemic. Even though we took every safety precaution, little did we know that we were going to get hit with 50 mph winds on our big day which was entirely outdoors. Despite the tornado like conditions, DJ Rufio's excellent sound system cut through the wind and our vows were clearly heard, the music was excellent, and we had a great time dancing the evening away. We highly recommend MVMNT DJs for any event and they should be the top of your list. read more

We used Matt for our wedding at the Mark Hopkins - we were referred by numerous friends & family and we've attended weddings he had played and he really kept us dancing. Matt was professional, fun and was so easy to work with! He asked what we really wanted for our wedding, we said a real party and he delivered just that. He knows how to read the room and keep the dance floor full and knows his stuff. I would recommend him over and over read more

Where do I even begin! One of the most important parts of my wedding for me and my fiance was the music. Before I even started looking, I knew I needed the BEST of the best. The first thing that drew me to MVMNT was that they seemed to keep up with music trends. When I first talked to Mat I felt like he understood my vision, I didn't want the typical songs you hear at a wedding. I wanted it to be music that WE enjoy with our loved ones. Mat completely blew it out of the water. We danced with our guests for over 3 hours. Afterwards, people kept saying "every time I thought about taking a break from dancing another good song would come on!" I was BEYOND happy. To make the experience even more amazing, I had asked Mat to insert a voice clip in the song during my father-daughter dance. He did so without hesitation and it was one of the most amazing moments of the night. Something I will get to watch over and over. There wasn't a dry eye in the building. Mat even took the time to send me the clip so I can have it forever as well as a video. I would recommend Mat and MVMNT DJs to everyone planning an event and looking for a phenomenal DJ! read more

Music was an extremely important part of my husband and my wedding plans! I love finding the perfect song for each of life's moments and crafting intentional playlists. When we had our first call with Mat, we knew immediately that he shared our passion for music and would perfectly create the right atmosphere and ambiance for each part of our wedding. We also threw a unique challenge at Mat, for our ceremony, we wanted to blend live piano from one of our groomsmen with a ceremony playlist Mat would oversee. Mat was a great resource, even joining us for a meeting with our pianist where we hashed out all of the audio logistics. Mat has an excellent diligence for his craft, he is meticulous about the little details from playing each song just at the right exact time to hiding necessary cords seamlessly. Mat executed the perfect vibe for our wedding, perfectly blending my love of ABBA, my husband and my love of Odesza, top hits from the year we met, plus relevant music from today. Mat heard me loud and clear when I said no cheesy wedding songs! And he shared my sentiment! There was never a song played that didn't perfectly fit the vibe. I think my favorite music moment of the night was when Mat played Zombie by the Cranberries (with him mixing of course), and all guests, young and old, ran to the dance floor to sing together in a big circle, head banging the whole time. What a moment! Thank you Mat and MVMNT DJS for creating the perfect atmosphere during our entire wedding day! read more

Matt DJ'ed the ceremony and reception for my wedding on October 15, 2022 and I would highly recommend him. We spoke with Matt about a week before the event and he was lovely to talk to and put us both at ease. All of our requests for the event were incorporated, from the songs that were incorporated into the ceremony to when we wanted the fade-outs for the official dances. We decided to incorporate a band after we'd already contracted with Matt, and he was extremely flexible with that arrangement, staying throughout the event to DJ during the band's breaks. Our guests were on the dance floor all night! read more

When looking for a DJ for our wedding, we specifically needed a DJ that spoke Spanish and English. When talking to a friend, she referred us to DJ Mike Ramirez and we are so glad she did. DJ Mike did a phenomenal job!! He was very communicative from the first call. Before the big day, he set up multiple calls to make sure he had a clear understanding of our vision for the wedding. On the day of the wedding, he was very professional and arrived early to set up his equipment. Not only did the play exactly the music we hoped for, he kept the day running smooth by making announcements to the guests. He checked in with us multiple times throughout the day and kept the dance floor packed. A DJ makes or breaks the wedding and DJ Mike made the day perfect. Would definitely recommend him if you want a memorable event!! read more

We had a wonderful experience working with MVMNT DJs for our wedding. They were professional, super responsive and easy to work with. DJ Jaime is so cool, he got everyone onto the dance floor, even the 2yr old babies!! read more

Your search for a wedding DJ is now over. You go with my man you will have the night of your life!! Extremely professional, amazing preparation, meticulousness is unmatched, also one of the friendliest person you'll ever meet. All my other friends who got married were all "meh" about their DJ experience, and Ive been to so many weddings where the DJ was mid, which made me nervous. BUT DjRufio/Mat cared just more about the details of my wedding than me, so after just 2 meetings, he covered every single detail and I was so confident that everything will turn out great. My guests have been raving about how much fun they had. Mat, thank you for making one of the most important nights of my life also one of the most fun read more

Mat was an absolute professional start to finish but by wedding day I felt like I had gained a friend. He was wonderfully intuitive, even though we didn't give him a playlist at all. We love all kinds of music and he blended multiple genres seamlessly, keeping me on the dance floor all night. The classics, country, R&B, all of it! His communication was timely and straightforward. I felt our special day was in the best hands. Mat kept every wedding event on time and my guests engaged. Even when we had a last minute change because of weather. He kept everyone informed and never skipped a beat. Our wedding would not have been the same without him. You will not regret going with Mat of MVMNT DJs. read more

Highly recommend Mat and MVMT DJs! Mat was the DJ for our wedding - he spent time getting to know us as a couple and understand what our vision was for our wedding. He was super easy to work with - he is super friendly, very organized, detail-oriented and very responsive. He kept the wedding vibes going and knows what kind of music to play, and how to provide reminders and cues for the guests without overly interrupting the event. We had him host a trivia game during the reception and he was so awesome! We gave him an outline of a script, but he nailed it. He has a natural charisma and made the game a lot of fun - its very easy for reception games to fall flat, but he got our guests involved and kept the game moving so guests felt like they were engaged the entire night. It was such a pleasure working with Mat - definitely recommend MVMT DJs for your next event! read more

We hired Mat (DJ Rufio) for our wedding in March 2020. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him throughout the year to get everything just right! We live out of state, but had our wedding in Sacramento where we both grew up. I was reluctant to hire a DJ from across the country, but after one online meeting with Mat I was sold! He listened to everything we asked for our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception (which was a very eclectic range of music) and made it seamless. The dance floor was packed all night and I could not have asked for a better party! read more

We had the pleasure of having Mat as our DJ/MC at our wedding in April 2023 and he was amazing! From start to finish (pre-wedding to wedding day) he was approachable, had great communication, and was very professional. My husband and I had a blast on the dance floor along with our friends and family. We highly recommend booking MVMNT DJs...you will not be disappointed! read more

We hired DJ Mike Ramirez for our wedding that was on 5/15/21. He was recommended through a family friend and we loved working with him. We had to postpone our wedding from 2020 due to Covid and he was flexible with our rescheduling. Communication prior to the wedding was so easy and he understood the vibe we were going for. He reviewed our day of timeline and song selection beforehand. DJ Mike had our guest dancing and happy the whole night! Him being bilingual in Spanish was a plus and played a great mix of Spanish and English music. We rented silent disco headphones for the end of the reception and he transitioned to being our silent disco DJ and got some many compliments from all guests. Thank you DJ Mike for making our wedding day so fun, memorable, and special! read more

We hired MVMNT Djs for our wedding this past year in Winters, CA and we could not be more happy. We were lucky enough to have Jaime make all our Bay Area hip/hip and RnB, funky dreams come true. They were 100% professional every step of the way and I would hire them again in a heart beat if I had the opportunity. Thank you guys so much! read more

DJ Rufio was awesome! We hired Mat for our wedding and it was the best decision ever! He came highly recommended through our wedding planner. From the moment we met him over Irish coffees, we knew we were in good hands. Aside from the music and the awesome mixing, he took care of all of the little details (announcements and whatnot) throughout the night and even facilitated a last-minute secret task one of my groomsmen contacted him about. Highly recommended for any event! read more

Our incredible venue, The Haven in Tomales recommended MVMNT DJs and now we know why. From start to finish Mat and Jaime were with us making my husband and I feel confident that we were in good hands. It helped that they are regulars at our venue, and so they know how to set up the sound system. From the ceremony, to cocktail hour, dinner and dancing, the music kept the party leveling up at each important moment. It was loud and clear, no sound issues. It was the perfect background to a gorgeous day. Once we hit the dance floor, Jaime took the music to the next level and we partied all night. They were great in that they used playlists my husband and I came up with, as well as Jamie adding his own expertise and flare. The dance floor was never empty. Mat and Jaime also helped get us excited and feel relaxed during our final call prior to our wedding, as nerves were kicking in on our end, they made us feel confident, and kept the laughter and energy high. Could not recommend enough. read more

Mat from MVMT DJs is one of the best wedding DJs in the Bay Area! My wife and I had Mat as the DJ/emcee for our wedding, and he exceed our expectations. He got the dance floor packed all night. He is able to read the dance floor and the crowd's energy, so you will never be left with an empty dance floor. Mat also pays attention to the little details, and is willing to help with little things even though it's not part of his job. He will make sure your wedding day will go as perfect as possible! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND hiring MVMNT DJs for your wedding! Mat was absolutely amazing to work with. He really took the time to understand our vision for our wedding and executed it flawlessly. He is extremely detail oriented and everything ran very smoothly on our wedding day. The ceremony was beautiful - the sound for our outdoor ceremony was perfect. My husband and I loved that we didn't have to have microphones in our pictures! He also has the slickest setup for his equipment! During the reception, he was so on point with our timeline and made announcements and got our guests' attention at the exact times as planned - and he worked very closely with all our other vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page. Prior to everyone's speeches during the reception, he talked to every single person to familiarize them with the microphone they'd be using and also made sure they knew exactly when it was going to be their turn. Mat also had the best lights that he broke out in the later hours, and he even took a special song request at the end of the night which meant a lot to my husband's family. Lastly, the most important thing to us was that our guests danced - and thanks to Mat, this definitely was the case! Everyone had a blast dancing all night long, and my husband and I cannot be any happier with Mat and the memories he has helped all of us create. Thank you, Mat, for an amazing wedding day! You absolutely crushed it! read more

Mat DJ'd our wedding in Healdsburg in October and he did an AMAZING job! When we were picking our wedding vendors we were really choosy with picking people who gave us good vibes. Mat is awesome. We've been to so many weddings where the DJ was obnoxious or made it about himself and this was so not the case. He really worked with us to make sure that he was playing exactly what we wanted and was super communicative throughout the entire process. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in three different places on the venue property and he was able to make it all work. We also had so many other things going on at our reception outside (photobooth, smores station etc) but a lot of our guests never left the dance floor the entire night since he was throwing down awesome beats the entire time. Our friends and family had so much fun and we genuinely loved every minute of it. Best dance party ever :) read more

We booked Jaime for our wedding after a recommendation for MVMNT DJs from a friend. I only met with him once before the wedding, but I was also in contact with Mathew regularly to make sure all of the details were perfect. He made the planning easy from start to finish. Now I have to mention a couple of reasons why Jaime deserves five stars-- I am a total music snob. I love music, I love to dance, and the music was probably the most important part of my wedding to me. I let Jaime and Mathew know what I had in mind: 80s music, cumbias, indie music, and hip hop. Jaime made it come together perfectly. My friends, family, and I had so much fun and they all remarked that I didn't leave the dance floor the entire night (even when I probably should have). My husband's father hadn't danced in something like twenty years and even he was bustin some moves (some credit goes to the bar for that one). It was amazing. And last, Jaime really came through when things got hairy. Of course, I heard from everyone that things go wrong on the wedding day and you just have to roll with it. We were supposed to have mariachis play during our cocktail hour, but they were super late. I, of course, started to panic when I found out, but Jaime had already heard and was already setting up to play outside. He totally set us at ease. That is the kind of dedication and professionalism that really shines. I highly recommend booking MVMNT DJs. read more

These guys are unbelievable! DJ Mat did my sisters wedding last year and he was so good that we decided to hire him for ours. Though he wasn't available, DJ Jaime took his place and was PHENOMENAL. He was spinning 90's and 2000's hip hop per our request and our people were on the dance floor all night! Thank you guys so much! You made our wedding into an epic dance party! read more

Music is really important to us so it was important that we found someone awesome for our wedding. We hired DJ Mike Ramirez (via a friend's recommendation) for our wedding and we would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat! He was so easy to work with from the start, and we felt comfortable from our first meeting. Mike was proactive in guiding us through a typical wedding structure and what songs we specifically needed to pick (first song of night, first dance, entrance songs, etc). He gave us some great ideas for activities and helped with the flow of the night, but was extremely flexible in catering to our reception schedule. Mike was also detailed in what he needed and what he would bring to the venue, and everything was set up perfectly and on time. The actual set was great. We had compiled a list of songs we liked - Mike started with those songs and mixed in a good balance of songs that were tailored to our preferences. Mike made sure that our wedding reception was unique to our style and vibe rather than being pushy about the type of music he played. Our family and friends had an awesome job dancing all night! read more

We absolutely loved working with MVMNT DJs for our wedding at Old Sugar Mill! We love our music, and it was definitely a priority for us to find someone good for our wedding. We really wanted a DJ that was an actual professional DJ - who knows how to spin and would be up to date on the latest rap, pop, hip hop, and r&b. Being a good DJ takes serious skill, we didn't want anything cheesy or someone just randomly clicking through a playlist. When we found MVMNT I was SO RELIEVED, since they seemed to meet our needs perfectly as legit DJs who spin in Sac and the Bay. Mat's communication was super prompt and professional the entire way through the process. He made us feel super well taken care of and seems like such a genuinely great guy who is passionate about what he does! Mat set us up with Jaime Hernandez, and he was such a perfect fit for us. He shared mixes of his work after our initial phone call and I knew we found our guy! On the day of, things went super smoothly. Jaime kept the dance floor going the entire night. Guests raved about the music- one even wanted to buy the playlist! Highly recommend this team for weddings or any special occasion that includes music and dancing! read more

Mat and Trevor made our wedding happen! We spoke with Mat over the phone and met with Trevor in person. They both asked the right questions, even those that we didn't know we'd need! Mat is responsive, listened to our music ideas and even gave us valuable input. On the day of, Trevor made sure we were taken care of, from the ceremony to the formalities of the reception and to keeping the dance floor LIT. Shout out to DJ Rufio! We have known Mat now for a few years and been to several of his events. He was our first and only consideration for our our wedding. Right out of the gate he put us right at ease with his calm and soothing demeanor. We immediately felt we were in good hands. While his resume speaks for itself, Mat's approach and attitude sets him apart. His communication, set up, and addaptability was on point despite having two very unique venues. Mics all worked, everyone could hear everything from the music to the vows. Come dance time he kept the party going and really helped make it a memorable day in all the best ways. read more

For our wedding we hired DJ Mike Ramirez and he was just awesome! Very professional and very organized. I've known Mat a long time, so he was an obvious choice for our wedding. But he far exceeded our expectations! He came out to Sacramento to meet with us and talk about what we wanted. I ended up giving him only 3 "must play" songs and asked that he feel the crowd and just make it fun. He ended up using one as the last song and honestly I don't know how he knew that it would be a perfect song to end on. Thankfully he took a video and I'll always have that memory. His music mix was perfect and both the young and young at heart were on the dance floor most of the night. I'm so glad I trusted him to just do this thing. He went above and beyond by making a playlist for us to play at the after party. We got rave reviews from our guests, too. Would highly recommend him to anyone! read more

These friggin' guys. From the moment we met Mat and Jaime we knew we made the right choice for our wedding DJs. Mat was super communicative and gave us plenty of time for song and mood selections. The MVMNT team also worked closely with our day of coordinator to make sure that the timeline was rock solid. Of course all that planning and talking would be nothing if Jaime didn't bring it on our actual wedding night, and boy did he. All of our specific songs played on cue and Jaime kept cocktail hour light and breezy. When it came time for the dancing to begin, it never stopped. Its been a couple weeks since our wedding and we are still getting compliments on how fun it was and how so many folks were on the dance floor! Thank you guys! read more

We knew from the first time we talked to Mat that he was the DJ for our wedding. Mat sweats every detail - from taping down his gear, to making sure that everyone can hear the ceremony perfectly, to keeping everything on schedule. We told Mat the number one thing we wanted was a dance party. And, man, did he deliver! Everyone was dancing nearly the whole time. Mat did a great job of going between oldies for the fam, newer songs, and our requests. If you are looking for a DJ for your event, look no further! It's DJ Rudio read more

DJ Mike Ramirez! Is there a word count for these reviews? :) DJ Mike Ramirez is incredible! My husband and I had heard Mike DJ a few times and immediately knew how awesome he was. We started to plan our destination wedding to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico when we realized that one of the important things we both wanted to make our wedding what we wanted, was the music. Our wedding planner told us that the "DJ" down there wouldn't necessarily be an emcee, they wouldn't announce things, and they would just play music. Since the music was vital, we threw out the idea of having Mike come from NorCal to DJ our wedding. We thought it was a bit of an outlandish request but decided to ask anyway. Within one day, Mike replied with an enthusiastic "I'M SO DOWN!" Mike was...EPIC! He was extremely professional. He was very willing to work with us on the playlists/what not to play. He contacted the venue to ask what kind of sound system and equipment they had so he knew what he was working with and what he would need to bring. He even brought those tall glowing sticks like they have at clubs! That was one of my favorite memories of my wedding! Mike was able to find a specific song that I danced to with my dad, which is not an easy song to find. Mike emceed it so well too. He didn't butcher names, he was having so much fun while emceeing and DJing, he got the crowd to dance, and honestly, Mike and his wonderful talent of DJ/Emcee made our wedding what it was... A tropical destination wedding on the beach of Puerto Vallarta with family, friends, drinks and LOVE! Thanks Mike! read more

We had DJ Mike Ramirez and he was the best! Such a great personality and really set the tone. He went above and beyond with our requests and was sweet, despite me being a bit of a bridezilla. Mathew (aka DJ Rufio) was everything we could ask for in a wedding DJ. He met with us beforehand to get a sense of what we were looking for and he worked with us every step of the way to make that a reality. He was friendly, helpful, and best of all an incredible DJ! He kept the dance floor packed from the first song all the way to the very end of the evening, mixing songs together to keep the energy alive. Not only that, but he managed announcements and AV equipment the whole day so we were able to focus on actually getting married. All in all I cannot recommend him highly enough. "This was the best wedding DJ we've ever experienced!" - said ALL of our wedding guests! We loved the entire experience of working with MVMNT DJs and our wedding dance floor was fun and fresh! People couldn't stop moving! In our initial meeting DJ Rufio had the best energy and asked us great questions to nail our style and what we wanted out of our big day. We could tell that he had the best equipment, knowledge in all the technology, and new how to infuse it all to make the best sound and experience (uplighting also available)! He brought our music vision to life and had all guests (no matter what age or preferred music genre) dancing ALL night! His communication throughout was incredible and he was always prompt to respond! We could tell his preparation was thoughtful and he worked well with all of our vendors. You can feel the passion he has for his craft and he was always so happy and fun to be around! The man behind the mix sets the tone for your guests and DJ Rufio is THE BEST. We also got to interact and work with another MVMNT DJ, DJ MIKE RAMIREZ- he was fantastic at pointing out things we may want to include in our reception and had good energy both in his personality and music!. We hired Mat/ DJ Rufio for our June wedding. He was professional and kind throughout the whole process. He helped us organize our reception timeline and coordinate the music to fit our crowd and style. We had several compliments from guests on the music selection and flow of the night. He made sure people were enjoying themselves which allowed us to have a beautiful evening. As the bride, his professionalism and flexibility is what I needed on my big day. He checked in on us throughout and was willing to change our timeline if needed. I think most of our guests (young and old) never came off the dance floor because they were having so much fun! I highly recommend Mat and his team for all your DJ needs! read more

We hired Mathew for our wedding and we could not be happier with how things turned out. During our DJ search, we interviewed multiple DJs. Mathew came to our initial meeting call extremely prepared. We could immediately tell Mathew not only cared tremendously about his craft, but also his clients. Throughout the planning process, Mathew was extremely responsive and accommodating. He helped us edit the songs that we wanted for our wedding and first dance -- trimming songs down to length, looping certain areas, and removing expletives. On the day of, Mathew was extremely detail oriented and prepared. Our wedding had a complex setup, with different areas for the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and dancing. Mathew and his team handled all the setup, transitioning people to the different areas, and we didn't have to worry about a thing. We gave Mathew some general genres of music we liked and things to avoid, and Mathew chose an amazing playlist of songs and kept the beats going all night. Working with Mathew and his team was amazing and we can't recommend him enough! read more

Mat was our DJ for our wedding in San Ramon in March and he was AWESOME! He met with us prior to the wedding to really get to know us and talk to us about our likes/dislikes and the overall vibe for our wedding which was really great. I felt completely confident with him. Right up to the wedding we were making a few little tweaks and had live musicians come on board at the last second, and Mat was easily able to accommodate them and their equipment, and he was perfect with all of the musical cues. For the reception we also got his uplight package and they were really great! Really pushed the look of the venue to the next level. For dinner and dancing he played an awesome mix that kept tons of people on the dance floor and I had people come up to me afterwards and say that they didn't expect to dance so much, but the music was so good! And that was exactly what my husband and I wanted!!! We highly recommend Mat and MVMNT DJs!!! read more
