The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles does not accept credit cards, but they do accept money orders and cash. I made an appointment online, and I was shocked that I could make a same-day appointment. When I arrived, I was the only client; I signed in to their digital kiosk and was immediately called. Their staff was professional and courteous. I got my vehicle's title in less than five minutes! I was relieved and happy to experience a transparent and efficient government agency.

Both times have been to get the title to a car (separate cars) that I own. Why I always lose the titles when I have them is beyond me, but also my fault lol. Both times have been in and out. Process is very simple, very inexpensive, and the staff is always helpful, polite and professional. I give them my documents (letter of lean release from the bank) and $5, and they give me my title. Statements with addresses need to be current. So now watch, there is a new 15 year old driver on the road. Of course he'll be with an adult until he gets his license. If this is your first time making an appointment, you need to plan out since vacant slots can be rare. Sometimes you have to look a few months out depending on your or your kid's schedule. As for the bathroom, it was clean and well kept.

I made it very clear what I was coming in for because my mom was going to be out of town. Every single time, I was told that I did NOT need her there and that everything would be fine. What makes this even worse is the way the employees handled it. Instead of admitting they gave incorrect information, they talked down to me, acted annoyed, and basically tried to make me sound stupid for following the instructions THEY gave me in the first place. It honestly felt like they were trying to gaslight me into believing I misunderstood them when I had asked repeatedly to avoid this exact situation. The incompetence and lack of professionalism here is unreal.
