Checked in with the online kiosk and it told me there was a 2-2 1/2 hour wait. That's not express by any means but that's okay because they send you a text when your spot comes up. There's also a link to a tracker that tells you how long until they're ready for you. So I drove all the way back home and waited until the tracker said 30-45 mins left and then I drove back over. When I got there it said I had 30 minutes. I was totally fine waiting in my car until they're ready for me. The lobby was really packed anyways. About a couple minutes later, I receive a text saying they're ready for me at kiosk 3. Cool, so I immediately go inside. I was just right in the parking lot so it only takes me a few seconds to get inside. I locate station 3 and walk over but there are a couple people there already. I look at the board that shows who is up next and I don't see my name. I take a seat and wait for the next rep to open up. While I do that I pull up the tracker and now it says I have "missed my visit". When the next rep goes up I explain that I was suppose to be next at station 3 but there was someone there. The lady at the next station tells me that they called my name and since I didn't show up they moved onto the next person. I explained that I was waiting in the parking lot until I got the text and then I immediately came inside. It had literally been less than a minute. I had the text that showed that. The lady said when they're busy they call your name and if you're not there they moved on. Okay, fine. But I should be next then right? No. She said it was too bad and I would have to join the queue again. I'm completely shocked that they would do that. What is the point of having a text sent if by the time you walk inside it's no longer valid. Luckily the lady at the station I went to decided to help me and she was very nice and professional but the one at the station next to her was as just so unpleasant and did not care whatsoever. I would never recommend this place. Just go to the regular dmv. Way cheaper and honestly you'll get in way faster. This place use to be express but not anymore. read more

Lived here for 5 years and I have come to this place twice one being by myself and the other with family members trying to get registered vehicle and a title change I guess the lead Erica on the floor was more worried about the time the lady was helping us because they have to meet quota. To the lady was helping us thank you but Erica should maybe be more quiet when talking rudely. Will not be coming back. Doesn't take much to be nice! read more

If I could give it negative stars, I would. I had the displeasure of attempting to get an ID for my MIL, who's id expired around the time her husband died, so it is out of date. We signed in, said it would be 10 minutes, waited 50 minutes the first time. Needed different paperwork. Went and got said paperwork. Signed in again. Said it would be a thirty minute wait. No problem. We waited hours. It took about between 30 - 57 minutes per person. Meanwhile 3 people, all male, are in the managers office. They come in and out. Helping no one. During this time period there were only 2 people who consistently ran the line. Finally we are rejected again because they will not utilize any federal paperwork (not ss benefits, not IRS, no ss letters) as varication of address for residency. I asked to speak with the manager (hoping she would know what documents we could use besides the ones that they have listed) at this point we had been waiting 57 minutes from the person in front of us to be called, and the manager (who I saw walk in with food 40 minutes ago, was "on a call and could not be disturbed". I had to leave there before my mouth started running the shots, but this is not a good way to run a business. If you run a business that claims to be better than the MVD" do that, but make sure it's true. Also, if you are aware that so many women are having trouble getting ids in this state, why aren't you advocating for them?! I've been a customer since you opened. I've brought family and friends to your business. But guess what? You won't get another dime from this woman. read more

MVD Express Las Cruces NM 6/28/25 Wonderful. Savannah helped me renew my Real ID drivers license. She was polite, professional, informative and courteous at all times. She was not just helpful to me but made sure other people who came in were greeted and helped to get started with their issues. I will pass along my experience to friends and associates and business clients. Billie Jackowiak. read more

A very rude a disrespectful custOmer service representative. It is the last person helping customers. Prices are horrendous and absurd.

Outstanding customer service. Leo was extremely knowledgeable, as well as patient and polite. B. Contreras read more

These people don't answer the phone, I've called 4 times and stayed on hold for over 20 minutes with no answer. Then when you go in to the DMV express, there's employee's standing around with nothing to do. It's very frustrating when all you want is a question answered. Customer service no stars read more

While we appreciated Tiara and her friendly helpful attitude, Leo could not have been more rude. It's frustrating for everyone to have to comply with forms and fees. To get an employee who clearly doesn't like people does not help the process read more

The staff is timely and kind. They make the experience simple and easy. Big difference from big California dmvs. I was in and out during my visits and that doesn't happen where I'm from. read more

I read so many bad reviews about the las cruces office, I felt I needed to write a review on my visit there: I was a walk-in--no appointment--I was greeted and told they would be with me shortly--I was helped by a young lady named tiara within minutes--the dealer I had purchased my new vehicle from had failed to include required data on my original "customer order" --it took 2 tries, and nearly half an hour for the dealer to correct the problem--tiara even got on the phone with them to explain what was needed--she was super!! the atmosphere in the store was light and friendly/courteous--everyone I saw was treated professionally and promptly--I was offered a bottle of water, which I gladly accepted, and a piece of cake, which I declined--hands down worth the convenience few, to not have to endure the folks at the state MVD-- read more

Leo provided exemplary customer service, including title transfer, vehicle registration and driver's license. He is really good at his job - friendly knowledgeable and professional. Be aware though, that MVD Express is not a state agency, but a for-profit company contracted to provide vehicle-related services. You will pay a premium for those services, much more than those charged at the state MVD. Be advised that companies like AAA will provide some of the same services free-of-charge if you are a member. read more

Take NOTE! This place is NOT an official State DMV!! DON'T GO HERE! Unless you like giving organizations money for no real reason. They will charge you for "Convenience Fees", telling you that it's the cost of the service. In my case, a VIN inspection that IS necessary to have done when you're new to the state... but does NOT cost anything if you go to an official DMV. This place will charge you contrived fees that the state does not charge. I naively paid for a VIN check to the tune of almost 80.00 because it was presented as if that is necessary state fee. Come to find out when I followed up with an OFFICIAL DMV that the same service doesn't cost a penny. Not one. If I had realized this place is nothing more than a mere car dealership for everything license in New Mexico I never would have gone here. (I refuse to pay for undercoating too). Because I was not given the information I needed over the phone (they won't answer) I chose to go to a different licensing agency that is not that far away. Who knew?? Moving is expensive and I've had to fork out so much money for everything related to our move. They hide the charge by calling it a "convenience fee" of 35.99... 35.99 x 2. Convenience? For who? Just because you say you donate to charities doesn't justify taking advantage of people who might not have a lot of resources themselves. Especially under false pretenses. Shame on you MVD EXPRESS!!! If I ever went back again, shame on me. Lesson learned. read more

I had to change my car registration from Texas to New Mexico the young man help me with this and even put my new plate on my car. I would have given him a tip but I didn't want to get him in trouble. Poorly trained staff. I made three trips here and never got the same story from anyone I dealt with. What a waste of time!

This MVD Express is convenient for those who don't want to wait in line but willing to pay a fee. Beware that if you don't have the proper documents or in its original form for some, you will have to come back with it. I made several trips. The only good part is that I didn't have to wait all day just for them to say that. read more

They need more staff. Waiting 2 hours is crazy. One person says only 2 people more now it changed to 4 people. Make your mind up.

I would give it a no star! Don't blame covid-19 for the people work habits moving slow! Not moving fast enough! People wait 5 hours just to get a freaking License really.. why not separate the people getting there License from the people getting their license plates you have so many people work their have a system! Be creative. I know this is the land of tomorrow's! No excuse for this amount of time waiting! I hate this place! Sucks but I have to come here i have no choice! read more

Wow what an awful experience. I have gone here twice, the first time I interacted with two aggressively rude employees who couldn't actually do what I needed to be done because of paperwork issues on my end. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, it is annoying to be in the middle of a paperwork process to find out that the customer doesn't have something they need and to stop. But then I went back today and another employee was yet again EXTREMELY rude to me, unhelpful, and argumentative. She was condescending and approached the entire interaction with a "How Can I Not Help Her" attitude instead of a problem-solving attitude. Both times I have come to the MVD Express they have been confusing about the paperwork they need and just all in all aggressive and RUDE. On a happier note, my trip to the MVD (NOT EXPRESS, just the regular ole MVD) was quick and helpful, plus the employees were all extremely kind and friendly. So clearly, use the MVD and not the MVD Express for all your needs! read more

Easily the worst experience of my lifetime, trying to get new plates on a few vehicles coming from out of state. I understand it is not the employees fault. They have to follow a state mandated procedure. My frustration is more with the process than the people here. There must be a way to stream line, so you're not waiting over three hours, during 4-5 visits, to get NM license plates. read more

Just moved here from Chicago and this place is heaven! The ladies here bust their butts to multitask and provide quality service to multiple people at the same time... despite the extra fee for Express service it's a deal compared to corrupt Chicago. So Las Cruces count your blessings and appreciate this top notch customer service establishment! I love New Mexico! read more

These guys are professional idiots and scammers. They take your money then ask questions that disqualify you from getting whatever you came for. It's cheaper going to the MVD, easy to make appointments and maybe only wait 30 min at most. Don't waste your time with this place, you'll just get screwed and say to yourself, I should have listened to the other crappy reviews. read more

I came here initially because I needed to replace a lost drivers licence and by the time I got off of work the regular mvd was closed. The gentleman that helped me that day was super friendly and helpful, he made sure that I had all of the necessary documents and apologized profusely because they couldn't issue licences that day (technical difficulties) but he gave me a temporary licence in the mean time. The next day I came back because my trip the previous day had been so positive I figured why not spend the extra and not have the headache of then regular mvd. I didn't get the same man that helped me the previous day and it was all down hill from there. The woman who ended up helping me acted like I was an inconvenience and she couldn't be bothered with helping me. She was short with me, rolled her eyes, and was generally unpleasant. Not only did I spend an extra twenty something dollars, but I was made to feel like a nuisance while doing it read more

I never thought I'd say this, but the state-run MVD is actually a better choice - both on your wallet and on your heartburn. After giving their staff member the same information three times - constantly being cut off by them did NOT help me convey it, I barely got to finish a sentence before she interrupted over and over - I finally gave up even trying to get a simple question answered on what I needed to bring in for a title transfer. Thank goodness I called first, rather than driving across town for this headache. read more

September 17th @ 2:00 I called to ask some simple questions. The person that answered named "Ben" was rude, throughout my entire call. I asked about talking to his supervisor because of his lackadaisical attitude and his solution was to just hang up on me. All he could say was "yeah" and "huh", where do you get these people and how are you still in business? This employee couldn't be bothered to take the time to use the correct verbiage to answer a few questions, how would one expect him to be able to form a correct and informative sentence. I tried calling back to speak with a supervisor and my phone call was never answered. read more

Long story but the Las Cruces office took a minor issue and made it more complicated one that could have been solved by a quick phone call to me. I drove through a snowstorm last night to get to Cruces from Albuquerque for a Saturday appointment....only to find out they couldn't help me on a Saturday with my particular situation. It's been a mess. Hopefully the office on Menaul in Albuquerque will resolve the situation. I spend part of my time in Albuquerque and part in Cruces and this was explained to office staff and the call center agents and no one ever bothered to tell me I should go during the week and not a Saturday for my situation. Isn't this why people pay extra fees to use MVD Express? read more

It took us a total of six trips to get our drivers license changed and tags swapped over from another state! The first time we showed up to change our drivers license we each needed 2 pieces of mail with our new address. We came back and I had to return as they did not like one of the forms of mail I brought with me. 3rd time I finally got it. We came again (needed title) to get license plate and lo and behold we needed the vehicle so they could do a VIN inspection (another trip home cuz we drove our truck and not the car). Then we were informed they needed the title for the truck, which is not paid off, So they had to request it from the bank! Thank goodness we has the bank address or that would have been another trip. Looks like we will still have to make yet another trip once the title is received! By all means make sure you bring your social security card with you for identification when applying for license (although we all know that SSN are Not used for identification!) coming to this place has tested our patience! Come here only if you want to run back and forth and feel like you want to a scream! The only good thing is when you return the same day you don't have to get another number! read more

First off, this is the DMV so you can't expect it to be an amazing experience. Why is this place still in business. Its all about power with these guys. They don't provide all the information you need to complete your transaction. Closing hours on their website say 6pm, I walked up at 517pm and the lady(Ericka) closed and locked the door on me as I walked to the door(Mind you I'm active duty army, and in uniform!). I think the customer service in this place is awesome. They are always willing to help. I understand it gets packed sometimes which makes it take longer.. I'm giving three stars because of all the extra chargers that come with this place. I understand a charge for fast service I don't understand the multiple chargers. There is a 29.99 charge for every action you need to perform. New lic and a registration on same visit =60 dollar charge not 29.99. No happy with this place. read more

Whoa! Stay away from this business if you're hoping to "Get In, Get Done, and Get Going" as their ad implies. Needing to register your vehicle? STAY AWAY from MVD Express. Called in advance to ensure I had all the items required to register my vehicle there. Recorded the call, which is Kosher in NM. Specifically informed their rep I need an accurate and complete list, as we'd be driving in from a long distance (near El Paso) to register a vehicle. Got to location with EXACT set of items I was told was required, only to be turned away because there were two items that are required that I was not informed of: 1. The actual vehicle itself (my assistant drove her car with the items she was told she needed); and 2.) a "certified" copy of the dealer's bill of sale. All I was given by the dealership (a new car dealership) was a pink and canary copy of the bill of sale, which they (and apparently everyone else) deems to be same as "original". When I called the dealership they had never even HEARD of a "certified" copy of a bill of sale--after having sold hundreds of thousands of vehicles all over the nation. The RUB: If you use a place like DVM Express, you will be held to a HIGHER standard than if you go straight to the Motor Vehicle Department. My dealer was told this--not me. His take-away was that the state doesn't trust companies like DVM Express to collect and submit true paperwork, potentially depriving the state of part of its registration fees--so they make DVM Express AND ITS UNWITTING CUSTOMERS jump needlessly through hoops. God only knows why they needed to inspect my vehicle, either. This would be the fifth vehicle I've registered in NM and never once was I required to have the vehicle with me for an onsite "VIN Inspection" (as their rep claimed she needed). Again--probably the state not trusting these types of companies or their customers. The BOTTOM LINE: By far the easiest, fastest, and LEAST RESTRICTIVE way to register a motor vehicle is to go to the STATE DMV--not a for-profit shop like this. Even if you have to wait in a short line, it's MUCH QUICKER than having to go back and forth with rank amateurs. You'll not only save time, but money, too. On top of the double-talk and the state fee, DVM Express charges an add-on separate registration fee (their fee). Of course, they're entitled to a fee if they provide a service. You be the judge if you think this is a valuable service or not. read more

Came in to get a replacement driver license. The MO of the place is that it's supposed to be fast and efficient, but even though there was only one person ahead of me and there were three people working the desk, none of the people was actually working. Moreover, the desk staff was rude. If they are going to charge $52.50 to replace a drivers license the least they can do is to provide a service. read more

I read all the reviews but at first thought my experience was going to be great. I got seen within seconds, and when I wanted to renew my expired (my fault) registration I gave the clerk all the documents and thought all would be well. She then proceeded to let me know that my registration was suspended 2 years ago for lack of insurance. I had to contact my insurance company to have them send proof that I was insured during that period. He sent the proof right away. The clerk then told me that I needed to do something else since my car was insured out of state. I explained that it was not; it was insured here. After talking to her, it appeared that the insurance agent sent the wrong information since my son was in college in CA and had a car there. I had to call the insurance agent again to let him know he sent the wrong policy. As I'm on the phone, the clerk tells me she got it (obviously it was in the original email and she decided to look at the whole thing). I realized after talking to my agent that they were saying I was uninsured during the period that I initially registered the car, and the policy I provided at that time covered the period that they said it was uninsured. When I asked about that, I got blank stares and no help. Then the clerk was talking to another clerk and asked if I had to prove I was insured since that time, 2 years ago. He said that no, I only had that one period of time that I was uninsured. At that time I had to state to make it clear that I was NEVER uninsured, and obviously the problem was on their end since my agent said my coverage was good the entire period, and specifically the fact that during my original registration I gave proof of the time period they are now questioning. This is also the first place I've ever been that doesn't send out notice when your registration is going to expire. I know that is totally my fault, but it's almost like they just want to make that extra fee. And to think that I've been driving on a suspended registration for 2 years and the MVD didn't care. Class act!!! read more
