And the vibe was fun BUT work needs to be done on customer service and explanation on the gringo challenge.

If you dine-in, you get chips and free sauces which is a fairly new concept to me. We got the 4 tacos and ramen which was more than enough for two. Tacos were flavorful and done well. Ramen looked oily and heavy but it wasn't too bad. The ramen noodles itself was a bit too soft so a thicker brand may have absorbed the noodles better. All minor things. Thanks, Fish's, for bringing downtown Chicago pricing to a North Side bar whose décor suggests the…read morelast improvement was switching to indoor plumbing. At the recent Oktoberfest Torchlight Parade, the 'carny folk' bartenders at Fish Heads, randomly announced, "No single mixed drinks; doubles only." How thoughtful. Usually, I get to decide how much I'm drinking before a bar decides how much I'm spending. My Maker's Mark and ginger beer was $16. Last year, I paid $9 for that drink at Track 2 during the same parade. The North Side has a proud tradition of strong drinks and fair prices. You've kept the strong drinks and replaced the fair prices with the charming assumption that everyone on the parade route is a sucker. My, what a Richard move. I love a good dive bar. But for $16, I expect a rooftop view, or at least evidence that someone has recently given a damn. To whoever devised this inflated, mandatory double masterpiece, I offer a traditional blessing: May the fleas of a thousand camels find your beds, and may the exterminator announce, "Sorry, no single treatments. Only doubles." Happy Oktoberfest.
