This restaurant is okay. There's not really anything great, but not anything particularly bad either. The burrito bowls flavor needed some love. Al pastor generally has a good profile to it but this just felt greasy and "Ortega" like. It was super compensated with refried beans aka it was a bean bowl more than a burrito bowl. The tacos were sad. It tasted like boiled chicken and onions. The servers were nice, but inattentive. We were the only ones in the restaurant, but had to wait for refills or other items. They were nice and gave a complimentary dessert. For the price, it is okay. I would try to find another spot, but it is slim pickings in the area. read more

Came in and they said we just closed. But they mad me a $17 burrito to go. Didn't know it was going to cost $17 otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. That burrito was gringo at best, totally flavorless try using some spices and salt. It might be better. I know what good Mexican food taste like. This was absolutely terrible. Food was okay. However, I got short-changed on my bill. I asked to confirm there was a 4% cash discount like the sign near their door said and they said yes. My meal was $14.23 (which as far as I could tell was the credit card price, so I expected 4% off) and I gave a $20 bill. After a few minutes, the server walked over, dropped the receipt with a $5 bill, and dashed away. So not only did I not get a cash discount, I got charged extra! I realized that with the server gone, a complaint would turn into my word against theirs. It wasn't that much money, but the fact that the restaurant would even consider short-changing its customers made me decide to never come back again. Was a place we thought was safe for granddaughters with celiac but the last 2 times we've ordered take out they have gotten it wrong even when we've specified allergies and told them "no gluten" they do tacos on flour tortillas after corn is specified, we request queso sauce on enchiladas (it's gluten free where as their enchilada sauce isn't) and we get their red enchilada sauce. Etc... Get the food home and the two kids cannot eat it, have to cook them other food and they're NOT happy campers. I called to express my disappointment and was offered a gift card but no refund. We just moved here from Texas so I'll admit, we weren't expecting much when it comes to Wisconsin Mexican food. However, we were homesick and decided to give this place a try and were immediately disappointed. The sign says authentic, but there is nothing authentic about a side of Ranch dressing with the chips and salsa or with beans that taste like they came out of a can. The food was not at all authentic nor was it very tasty. We've been going here since they opened and we have always loved it. Unfortunately it's no longer our favorite. The menu has changed and some of our favorites are gone. Food is lukewarm at best and prices are through the roof. The food itself lacks the flavor it once had. We had asked if it was under new ownership and we were told new management. ?? This was my first and last time here. Mediocre mexican food. I ordered the "al pastor" tacos. The tortillas were cold and looked like they were warmed in the microwave...they fell apart as I ate the tacos. The horchata was sub par and tasted like milk...no flavor. The salsa tasted like tomato paste. My table was broken so as I'd sit and put my hands on it or would bump it my drink would spill. The waiter asked me if I wanted a menu (ummm yea, how else will I know what to order). Just not my kinda Mexican food. They need to add more flavor and step up their food game. read more

Pleasantly surprised on a recent late night visit. We were planning on eating at the Freight House, but got there minutes after the kitchen had closed for the evening. Desperately hungry, we stumbled into this little place that still had the "open" sign on but only one car in the lot. Luckily, the host said they could serve us! The Host ended up being our waiter too. He quickly brought us some very good Chips and Salsa and took our order. I had a combination with a Pork Tamale, Beef Enchilada, Refried Beans and Rice. the Rice and Beans were standard, but the Enchilada and Tamale were outstanding. Diane had the Chicken Fajitas. The couple of bites I stole were excellent. We washed everything down with some very well made Margaritas! They are Wheelchair Accessible and went out of their way to be nice to us! One of my favorite places for Mexican food in la crosse, they are reasonably priced and the food is simply good I have never ordered anything that wasn't good, was slightly disappointed in the fajitas as they were on the higher priced side for what you got. But they make up for any short comings with awesome friendly service. read more

My wife and I went to the patio via the fence facing the railroad tracks, we sat at a table and the waitress waited on the table next to us. When she made eye contact with my wife she didn't say anything. We waited a bit and no one came back to our table. I then went into the bar and got a couple of drinks, later, two different waiters passed by us and didn't acknowledge that we were there, note there was only two other tables that had customers I don't know what the deal was but never did I have this experience before, Enrieca (the owner) is a very good person and I just wanted him to know what is happening at his business as I know he strives to give the best service possible and as a business owner myself I know things happen, I will be back as I have always been pleased with this place, Pete Conway read more

For legal reasons I cannot reveal where I work, however let's just say I was once a ride along for a delivery service. We were supposed to deliver several boxes of meat to them, but their head chef refused two of the boxes. It wasn't because the meat was expired or that it was the wrong product, but it was because their head chef was a man of quality who thought he could get a better cut of meat. Although it was annoying to load the two boxes back into the truck, because they are super heavy, as a consumer I respect that a lot. I also thought it was neat that, what we did give to him, he told the kitchen to immediately butcher the meat so that they could use what we gave him for same-day service. My wife and I have always enjoyed the food at Fiesta Mexicana, and that behind the scene experience has solidified My overall recommendation of this great Mexican restaurant. read more

Ordered food for takeout due to Covid-19. Girl on the phone seems like she wasn't happy to be answering phones and didn't seem to care about her job - didn't even ask for my name. She was rude and hung up immediately. Going there to pick up, the entire staff is standing by the front and seemed annoyed. The girl just says "what'd you get?" No thank you, nothing. There were 11 of us that met here for drinks and dinner. On the board they had Mexican Sangria. I asked the bartender what was in it and she replied she didn't know. Didn't offer to find out. I ordered it anyway. We went out to the deck. When others joined us she took their drink order and they asked that the table be wiped off. It had bird crap on it. They asked 3 times and she never did. It only got worse when we went inside for dinner. Food was bland. One person got the wrong thing. One ordered dessert and she visibly rolled her eyes. This used to be one of my favorite places, but after my last visit I probably wont ever be back. We walked in around 5:30 and the restaurant was HOT. I don't know if it was from the open windows or some kind of heating/cooling failure but it was uncomfortably warm in there. We placed our order, one of the people at our table specifically requested no sour cream and no guac. When the entrees arrived, there was sour cream and guac on the plate. When it was pointed out, the waiter took it back without hesitation and we repeated no sour cream/no guac and brought back another plate... with no sour cream and a double serving of guac. I ordered fajitas. It was basically a generous portion of chewy steak and onions. This might be great for some, but I was pretty disappointed to find a mere 3 strips of green pepper among the pile of onions and meat, no red. Other people had similar complaints, the chicken fajitas were chewy and dry and had about the same amount of green peppers, also no red. Everyone had leftovers (at least half of the portions we were given), but when the waiter came by to ask if we needed anything else we asked for the check. What was going to be our leftovers were whisked away - he didn't even ask if we wanted boxes. Water glasses were never filled. About the only good thing I can say about this last visit was that at least the table was clean. read more

The staff is amazing and after about two visits remember who you are. You get lots of food and the prices are good. We always have a pleasant experience. Great food and fast service. I've been here twice now and both times I've been impressed with the service, food, and atmosphere. In our most recent visit we were seated quickly, given chips and salsa almost immediately, and our waiter stopped by within a few minutes. We had our food within 15 minutes and were checked on several times. The food is very good and made fresh to order so asking to have items modified (e.g., no onions) is no problem. Prices seem right where they should be and there is a wide variety of things to choose from. Portions are generous.
