We had site 64, which was at the very end of the campground in a small loop with bathrooms in the middle. There were 3 sites in the area, and our site was extremely private due to the trees and because you have to go down a set of stairs to reach the table and fire pit. We parked our trailer at the top, which ended up being great, but I'm not sure if the site has a tent pad or not. Our site was tucked among the trees and had hiking trails leading in multiple directions behind it. It was clean, but the bathroom was full of those gross sewer flies (which maybe can't be helped?). The sound of the flowing river was extremely soothing and even drowned out the sounds from our [super drunk] neighbors. I'd highly recommend checking out the pictures of each site on the recreation.gov website. There are many beautiful and private sites, but many that weren't as private or level (if that matters to you). I'd also recommend booking as soon as the reservation window opens, which I think is in January, for the best sites and dates. The campground is almost always completely full as you get closer to the summer months. This is my new favorite spot for sure, can't wait to return next year!

We stayed in #8 for a cab over camper and we towed a bike so plenty of room on asphalt very level too. The table and fire pit area were cemented with easy access to put up our portable tent shaded area which came in handy when it rained. Our family live in Utah and they came up the week we stayed there since it was only a half hour drive from where they live for evening campfires and BBQ too. Quiet, pretty, warm, friendly campers. The outhouses look nice on the outside but our smelly overall. No dumpstations up there either. Made reservations a head of time which was nice guaranteed our spot since we traveled far too so can book online as well it was busy there. Overall nice place!

This park has a direct connection to the Bridal Veils park/trail as well. I did see a closed for the season sign blocking entrance into the parking lot areas, so you would have to park elsewhere and walk to this main area. Overall, nice park with easy access all around and a very easy trail. The view isn't as pretty as the Bridal Veils one, but it's much less crowded.

If you're close enough to the river, the sound of the water drowns out the cars driving by on the road. I came to this park last week when I wanted to get away from the apartment for a while. I drove up the canyon for a few minutes and drove off the freeway to see that the parking lot for Bridal Veil Falls Park was packed, so I took a left and made my way over to Nunn's Park. I didn't wander over to the campground area, but the park is pretty nice. The trees are finally green and the sun was out, so I was able to kick back and enjoy how beautiful this place is during spring. Oh, but I must say, they have ants that I haven't seen since rural San Diego. Those nasty HUGE black ants...yikes. I've only seen those tiny house ants around here, so it was a bit of a shock. If you stray from the view of the water and just look at the bridge and the road above you, it's not all that pretty, but I guess that's the benefit of having two parks so close together. If you get tired of one, just walk across the street to the other one. Provo Canyon would have to be the most beautiful thing I've seen in Utah.

Current Creek campground is a large place with 4 loops. My favorite is D loop because it's closest to the lake. Bathrooms have flush toilets but no showers. Each camp site has a picnic table, grill, fire pit and concrete pad. The camp host station sells ice, firewood and some bare essentials. The star of the show is the lake. Usually you'll find me sitting on the shore waiting for a fish to bite. I've caught rainbows and tiger trout. But even if you don't catch anything the views are spectacular. If you should get lucky and decide to keep your catch there is a fish cleaning station by the boat ramp. Directions, there are 3 ways to get there all involve a bit of graded dirt road. You can take hwy 40 to the Current Creek Road and drive up next to the river, then around the lake. Next option is to turn off hwy 40 at the chicken creek area and take FS road #82. The turn is just before the UDOT facility. Lastly you can take center street from Heber past the Timber Lakes community. There is no cell phone service at the lake or campground. :)

Mobile home parks tend to lean toward the longer-term residential type environment. Mountain Shadows tries to marry the two, and it's awkward. When we first checked in Friday evening, the young lady at the front desk was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. We were so excited to have found a RP park in town-a little "staycation" if you will. We got set up and quickly noticed that many of our neighbors appeared to be in for the long haul. And not too long after our arrival, the police paid a visit to one of the neighbors. That was a little unnerving. Later that evening, my son and I wanted to borrow some DVDs from the office so we walked down. The friendly face from a few hours earlier was gone and replaced with an extremely unpleasant, angry woman. She did not look up from her phone when we walked in the door and tossed it aside angrily when we came to the counter to check out our movies. She made sure to let us know a number of times that she was having a bad day and that things could not get any worse. She kept losing track of where she put things-dropping stacks of paper on the floor, tossing her pen in a frustrated manner and eventually throwing her hands up in the air and exclaiming "I give up!" We were very uncomfortable and felt like we were a burden to her. The next day, my son and I returned the DVDs and stayed to play pool-the first young lady was back, so we didn't feel to fearful of hanging around. Only one pool cue could be found, so we passed it back and forth. While we were there, we observed many interactions with guests and staff (the nice young lady and another young guy were manning the office that day). They were both very pleasant. Based on the conversations I heard, my theory about longer term residents was confirmed. Most everyone was there to pay their "rent" and talked to each other as regulars, not vacationers. On the plus side, it was very quiet both nights we were there. I'd imagine, since this is most of these people's homes, they don't prefer to stay up late socializing or throwing parties. However, the overall feeling of the place is dismal. I felt like I was intruding on people's lives by coming in for a short weekend stay. If you're looking for a spot to stay while traveling through, this may be a place to consider, but be aware of what the park really is. If you're cool with that, then you'll be just fine.
