They are now charging for drinks ,hash is no longer on the bar ,no calabash shrimp on Wednesdays and fridays and a lot of other menu items going AWOL . Sad but For the price it's no longer worth it . read more

The service is and has been outstanding. We eat here maybe 4 times per year, but for years. We've never been disappointed with the food (know it's a buffet); the service (for a buffet the staff will take care of you); ambiance, it is made out as a BBQ joint (we love the train and watching the young ones when they spot the train). They have cold salads, greens; I have never had an issue with the Mac & Cheese (it's not my Mom's, but it's good enough). Ribs, chicken, pulled pork, fried fish, on-and-on, the selection is not bad. As for the quality, I would rate it better than average (at least one and a half stars above the Greenville/Anderson area china buffets). They have desserts that the others in our party have and enjoy (sorry but I am a snob about banana pudding- this isn't the flavor I like). Besides, if I still have "room" I am eating more ribs and bbq. The facilities are very clean, parking is not an issue, and the building is large, has never felt crowded. At my job we were given a catered Christmas lunch by Mutt's BBQ of Easley. The menu was pulled pork, pulled chicken with a bun, ribs, green beans, mac and cheese, sweet potato soufflé and lemonade or tea. You could choose either pulled pork or chicken. I chose the pulled chicken. The pulled chicken did not have any seasoning at all, it was dry and tasted like canned chicken. The green beans tasted like they just opened the can and warmed them. The mac and cheese was just that Macaroni with some cheese sauce, I didn't try the sweet potato soufflé. The best part of my meal was the lemonade, it was delicious. I appreciated the gesture of a Christmas meal, but Mutt's BBQ will not be on my list of places to dine in Easley. read more

I was hired as a waitress before getting cussed out by the owner. Temper tantrums are frequent and the employees have to deal with it every day. I tried to stick it out but crying after being completely and shockingly obliterated to the point others could hear... yeah that's what people don't see. Don't give this man your money. I also fell on that last day but said nothing so that I wasn't sent home. And this all happened on my birthday. I feel for the employees. Another waitress left after being screamed at the night before I left. This was all about me asking why I wasn't being scheduled for my job. I was told someone else was hired for the floor because I did the register the best. $12 and hour. $12. And that was supposed to be more than enough coming from my boss. There are a lot of amazing people that work at that restaurant. The entire issue stems from the owner, Greg. I will move on and make more money. Things happen for a reason. read more

My family and I visited this restaurant today. Loved the food, the ribs were fall off the bone delicious and corn on the cob so sweet. I am getting hungry right now just think about the food. We were not happy at all with the waitress, Kristy. We all watched as she approached every other table in the restaurant asking if everything was good or if they needed anything. Not one time did she come to our table or even acknowledge that we were there. In my opinion she needs to acknowledge every table, especially if she is the only waitress. Thanks to manager Greg for accommodating my family during the loss of our love one. The staff delivered the food in a timely manner. During the delivery process, the worker dropped a macaroni and cheese cassorole and he notified Greg on what happened. Greg made another cassorole and bought an extra one to our gathering to ensure that we had enough food. Greg went above and beyond to make sure everything went well for our gathering. Mutt's built a new building next to their original restaurant. It's super nice!! The food is always outstanding. The buffet style lets you fill your plate with what you want. The fried chicken and ribs are my favorite! Even though I am a regular customer I learned that they change the menu according to the day of the week! Did not know that till tonight when I grabbed a few hot wings. Something I have never had before and we're delicious. Service is always outstanding and friendly as well. Food is good. Variety of vegetables, meat and desserts. The only complaint I have is that they didn't get the memo that summer is gone. The temperature inside the restaurant is colder than outside. They had the fins running and air conditioning on. It was cooling off our food before we could eat it and it made it uncomfortable as well. I asked one of the waitress about turning the fan off but she said she didn't control the fans but she would ask someone to do it. Someone did turn off the fans but I could still feel cold air and must have been coming from the air conditioning. She came by later and asked her if the air conditioning was on but she didn't offer any solution, she was just defensive and said she told them about the fans. I don't think we will be eating there again anytime soon. Maybe in the spring and summer. read more

I have been going to Mutt's BBQ for their buffet since they were in their old location next door. Their new location is very clean but a little smaller. My favor things from the buffet are the collard greens (when they cook with the ham) and the fried chickens. I want to love their ribs but it's too dry for me. Their dessert selections are limited. I do enjoy the ice cream. Staffs are nice, but sometimes is slow to go around and give out the 2nd and 3rd plates. The price is ok because the drink is included in the buffet price. This is a favorite with us, especially when family visits. We arrived at 1210 pm on a Wednesday. There were 12 ppl seated, lots of seating places nicely spaced and clean. We were immediately addressed. Staff was pleasant. As usual the food was good, moist and classic southern cuisine. The fish is my favorite. Their fried chicken is crispy with awesome batter. However the breasts are always dry-overcooked. Nice desert bar with cobbler , cookies and ice cream.-Among others. Their drink selection is limited but has enough to do the trick. The main buffet is okay. But as my username says I review ribs and this place doesn't disappoint. Not only are their ribs fresh, but they don't put the sauce on them. They actually have the sauce at your table so you can put as much as you please. Although they do have their bad moments they're definitely a good place if you want ribs. We visited Mutt's today on our way back home from a camping trip in Devil's Fork. A fellow camper recommended it and we truly loved it. We love BBQ and we were so hungry after a very light breakfast. The restaurant was very clean and the service was awesome. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. It's an all you can eat buffet so go hungry and be ready to eat. We are from the midlands and were so surprised by the different flavors from what we are used to in BBQ around here. It was smokey and excellent, very tender and moist. The sweet potato casserole was by far our favorite and was different from any we had ever tried. It has a crispy topping and is so yummy. Spicy greens, potato salad, pasta salad and a scrumptious mac and cheese round out the exceptional food line up. To finish out they offer a delicious peach cobbler, chocolate crunch and banana pudding. They also have a freezer of all sorts of ice cream treats and you can choose one per customer. We will definitely go back with big pants on and take our family. It was superb all around!!! I'm a very easy going guy who can handle a lot of stuff. I work retail, so I tend to lean toward the good side when it comes to being served by people who have to deal with the public. But, today at Mutt's BBQ I came close to being "that guy". I went in around 1 pm and asked for a plate for me and a carry out for my wife who was home sick with this crudd that's going around. The lady working the register charged me for my plate and said to just come back to her before I left to get the carry out for my sick wife. So, after eating my meal I went back to her and said I'd like to get the carry out for my wife now. She informed me that I couldn't have a piece of chicken and the one rib that my wife requested of me because they were "running low". It was around 2 pm now and I believe they close at 2:30 pm. There was no one in line for food and there was plenty of both types of meat at the bar. I questioned her as to why she couldn't have just one of each and again I was told, "BECAUSE we're running low". Her rudeness escalated when I called my wife to see if she wanted something else. When my wife said that she didn't want pulled pork or pulled chicken, and to pick up chicken from somewhere else, my patience with the lady's rudeness ended. I asked her, "So a customer is not a customer unless they're eating in?" At that point she turned and walked away from me, and disappeared around the corner never to be seen again. I wasn't asking for a discount and was willing to pay whatever the price would be for the carry out. Money wasn't the issue. My "suspicion" is that since it was almost closing time that they wanted to hold on to those items for themselves. Again, I say that is just a "suspicion" on my part since there were no customers in line anywhere for any of the food and it was so close to closing time. I met the owner of Mutt's several years ago when I served him at my place of business. We had a good conversation about the food industry and the event that he had held there with Ted Cruz, which I attended. He came across to me as a very nice guy, and I did my best to serve him well. But today, I am most disappointed in the service that I received from his establishment and will think long and hard before ever going back. After being home for 3 days sick in bed, my wife is returning to work tomorrow. We will however, probably never return to Mutt's. We're getting a lot of new restaurants in Easley and Mutt's just fell to the bottom of the list. Maybe the best BBQ buffet going. Typical buffet includes, BBQ pulled pork and chicken. Fried chicken. Mac and cheese (of course!), hush puppies, corn, slaw, ribs, pasta salad, banana pudding...you name it. The best part of the buffet? Everything is really good. Come for a late afternoon dinner/lunch thing and you'll be good for the day. Sometimes the waitstaff consists of local boy scouts or church groups which is awesome. I've been to Mutt's in Easley a few dozen times, and yes, I'll be back. :) It is a dedicated buffet - so wear your stretchy pants. No, really. You'll want to have as much of the sweet potato casserole as you can eat. (I love that stuff). Heck, one year for Thanksgiving, I got a pan of it for my meal at home! The ribs are pretty good. The pulled pork is even better. And I LOVE to play with the sauces for my pulled pork. The food and the service are *never* a problem there - my only issues have been with loud Loud LOUD screaming and running children. Definitely not the restaurant's fault, it's just an observation. Side note, why do parents let their kids run around a restaurant? What happens when I (someone not tiny and currently in a cast after surgery) trips over one of the little darlings {cough} and falls on them? I digress...
