We did takeout tonight. Normally it's really good and we have everything in our bag that we asked for. Tonight that wasn't the case. We ordered a pound of meat, three 1/2 pound sides with extra sauce. There was no extra sauce and two small cups for a pound of meat. The food was okay, but the meat was extremely dry due to not enough sauce. The bag was tied off when my husband picked it up so we could not "check" it. While we will be back, we won't be leaving without the bag being opened and checking to ensure everything is there.

Brisket Friday for the win. Quiet place but it smells amazing and looks very clean. Will come back to try other options

It was May 9th, 2019 when I first drove into the sleepy little town of Simposonville, SC. It reminded me so much of Mechanicsville, VA I felt instantly comfortable. My wife wanted BBQ and so whatever wifey wants; wifey gets. Henry's smokehouse seemed to be about the only option in town. Thank God for the Yelp app! Without it we would have never found this place. I got the wife on the Yelp train so that's awesome. Anyway, let's get to it about the food. I thought it was A-OK! The ribs fell right off the bone and had a pleasant smoky flavor. The sweat potato mash thing was good and the Mac-N-Cheese hit the spot! I really got a kick out of the slice of white bread and pickle. That's how they do it in Texas so it was cool to see South Carolina represent. My sister got a pulled pork sandwich along with some fries and that was also mighty tasty. Would I go back? Yes actually, it's very possible since we have extended family in the area. Keep up the good work Henry's Smokehouse!

Henry's was Open On July 4th, So that's a positive. A party of six of us went in to have lunch. Unfortunately, we were unable to stay, because every meat they have is cooked with tomato (BBQ sauce), and I have a tomato allergy. I asked, Chicken? Nope, it's BBQ chicken. Hash? Nope, it's made with the meats they cook in sauce. Well, okay ... so, we left. I would suggest that Henry's provide at least one meat entree with no tomato products, for a few reasons: 1) Tomatoes are a common allergen. 2) Tomatoes are a nightshade, and many people avoid them for that reason. 3) Because tomatoes are fruits, diabetics are instructed to avoid them.

Best around Folks!!!

Wonderful food. Was my father's favorite restaurant. It has become a family tradition.

It's good everyday, but brisket is available on Fridays! Huge servings, and all the sides are delicious.

It's like the kind of bbq you got growing up as a kid in the 90s. Not bad. I don't mind the place. Good prices and quick service.

Ordered 1/2 of ribs and it was burnt, black and tough as leather. Sides average at best. Place was dirty stunk at back. One and done for me!

But these guys do make a BIG swing and a BIG hit. First off, customer service. Justin waited on me and asked right away if I was a first-timer, which I was, and at the end of a quest to arrive here. And so he gave me the layout in the menu, the NJ flown in Liscio's bread, and the Cooper American cheese and shaved sliced beef. It's the real deal and it does travel well, at least for 3-4 miles back home. It's a 10 inch sub, there are many options. I went classic. But check the pics of menu items (the Mort looks great, Mortadella coma?!) But the classic will fill. And it is tasty. Simple, authentic, tasty. That's why we are here. And the friendly customer guidance, beyond any expectations, when anyone is at the counter, they are recognized if regulars, acknowledged if first timers and the center of the universe for the counter man, (in this case, Justin). And, a couple of Dum-Dum lollipop treats for the wife who abstained for today. The sandwich was a hit. It's a bit expensive, but I understand we just beat a line out the door crowd at 11:15, so plan accordingly. I'll be back. Must try other items too. Beer and soda available. Worth the trip if authenticity is your bag, baby, if not, there's always Jersey Mikes, but support local, man! Get with the Harry's groovy and tasty vibe.

Tamarindo Latin Cuisine is an absolute gem! I came in craving something savory and left with a full…read moreheart (and belly). I started with the Queso Frito Con Mermelada De Guayaba--crispy fried cheese paired with sweet guava marmalade. It was the perfect balance of salty and sweet, and honestly, I could've eaten a second round. For my main, I had the steak with rice and beans, and it was everything you want in a comfort dish--tender, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. I paired it with a passion fruit mojito, which was refreshing, tropical, and not overly sweet. A perfect sip between bites. But what truly made the night was Nina. She was incredible--tentative, hilarious, and walked us through the entire menu like a seasoned guide with a heart of gold. Her energy was infectious, and she made us feel like family. Speaking of, my friend is Venezuelan and had never been here before, and excited to bring her family from KY to visit because it felt like home. Nina is an absolute gift to this place! If you're looking for bold flavors, warm hospitality, and a place that feels like home with a Latin twist--Tamarindo is it.

I've eaten at Tamarindo Latin Cuisine before and had a lovely experience, which is why what…read morehappened tonight was such a disappointment. Tonight was my mom's birthday, which also happens to be Valentine's Day. We had a 6:30 pm reservation and arrived a few minutes early. When we checked in, we were told there were 4-5 parties ahead of us and we'd need to wait. Fine. It's a busy night. I totally understood. I suggested we wait at the bar, only to be told they couldn't accommodate guests there. Weird, I thought, so my mom and I waited in the full-to-packed lobby area. For nearly 45 minutes. With a reservation. When we were finally seated, it was immediately clear something was very wrong. No parties were actually eating. Some guests were sitting with empty tables or boxes, clearly finished eating and just waiting to escape. But no food was actually being eaten. We soon learned why. The entire restaurant was being handled by one server, who was also bartending. Once seated, we waited about 20 minutes with no water, no menus for drinks, and no utensils before the server reached us. She was kind, professional, and clearly doing everything she possibly could, but she was completely overwhelmed and unsupported. Drinks took about 30 minutes. We ordered food at the same time. The food never arrived. We watched multiple parties leave without eating. Some may have walked out entirely, and honestly, I don't blame them. We ordered a second round of drinks, still hoping things might turn around. They didn't. By 8:45 pm, more than two hours after our reservation, we were told our food was "coming right out." But at that point, it was simply too late. I paid for our drinks and we left hungry. (And, man, I was looking forward to that mofongo.) This was not the server's fault. She was doing her absolute best under impossible conditions. This was a management failure, full stop. Understaffing a restaurant on Valentine's Day to this degree is not a fluke. It's a decision. It's a shame, because Tamarindo has a thoughtful Caribbean menu and, based on past visits, real potential. But execution matters. Tonight was a complete sh*tshow, and sadly, it's not an experience I'm willing to repeat. I truly hope the server got a stiff drink and a raise. She earned both.
