Had the medium ribeye and it was soooooo good. It was extremely tender and the side of the steak was lightly caramelized. there's a subtle charred taste to the meat. Most places I've been to over-salt the steak. Not King Tut's. Come here for the steak! I can't vouch for anything else here. I'm stuck on their ribeye. First time here was on a Friday night. Not very crowded, which to me isn't a great sign, especially for a weekend night. Ordered sirloin tips, rare, with loaded baked potato and salad. Tips and potato cake out wrapped in foil on a plastic plate with plastic utensils, and the salad was prepackaged in a plastic brown with lid. This tells me they are spending money on players, bowls, etc, and not paying a dishwasher. Decent draft beer selections. Food was good and served as it was ordered, but for what we paid and what we got, it was a little overpriced. Plus, karaoke started at 8pm and from that point on we couldn't hold a conversation, so it was time to leave. While I was able to scratch this off my "never been there" list, I cannot say if I'll be back or not. It was good but not great or spectacular. read more

My husband and I stopped in to get a bite to eat. All was good. Cooked to perfection. Enjoyed the music that was playing also. The Lady that was there was very friendly and nice to talk to. Ordered takeout for the second time from here last night. Last time was over a year ago and I was unimpressed, but thought I would give it another try. Still unimpressed. Just like last time, my steak was overcooked and under-seasoned. Ordered it medium rare and there was not the slightest hint of pink left in it anywhere, so all the real beef flavor was cooked out of it. The potato salad is not bad, but the salad was pitiful. Menu says it comes with tomato, cucumber and shredded cheese... only there was no cucumber, no cheese and only one chunk of tomato. Basically a bowl of iceberg lettuce. Texas Roadhouse serves a similarly sized steak, with a MUCH better salad, and a side for half the price, so I think two strikes is all I need on this place. read more

No frills dining with phenomenal food. Located in a strip mall on NE Main Street in Simpsonville. I have passed this location many times, but decided to give it a try after hearing great reviews from many. When you get your food there is no question that the owner previously owned Steak Out. All items are served on plastic plates and plastic bowls. Seeing the food brought a sense of nostalgia to me and took me back to my 20's when Steak Out was open. Don't let the plasticware fool ya though, the food is on point and the servings are enormous. My hubby and I ate for less than $50 and we got all of the food seen below. Oh. My. Goodness. I found out through Facebook this place was owned by the original owner of Steak Out and I knew immediately I had to try it so I came the very next day. Everything was AMAZING just like I remember. The steak tips, rolls, potato, everything was spot-on. I met the owner and spoke with him about the rolls. Even though Sunrise Bakery is closed down now the recipe is the same. Everything was incredible and they have a great selection of beer and wine. I cannot wait to come back!!!! They had a Valentines special on Rib eyes, baked potato, salad and a roll, $59.95 for two. And dessert! This restaurant was ok... A little spendy but ok. My husband ordered a steak medium rare and it came too rare to eat. His baked potato was just warmed up, to where the butter wouldn't melt. The rolls were a little hard on one side and we had to ask for butter for them, but were good. He also had a side salad, that was really good, crispy and very fresh.I ordered the Salmon and it was absolutely the best I have ever had, char grilled! So flavorful and moist. A little lemon would have been nice, but no big deal. I ordered veggies and potato salad as my sides and the broccoli and yellow squash was PERFECTLY STEAMED. The potato salad was different..kind of sweet but tasted great. I had the cheesecake for dessert and it was enough for two and creamy! I also ordered coffee and they put the cream in it for you. When it arrived, there was not enough cream for me, so the really sweet waitress brought me a small container of cream to add...perfect! Everything came in little plastic and Styrofoam containers, which seemed expensive to me, but understandable due to the COVID time. I think it is a great place to try. A very basic menu, but the food is consistently good. Service is a bit slow, it seems like there's never more than 1 server who does a great job but obviously can struggle refilling drinks and taking orders when they have multiple tables. The burger is delicious!! Menu items are often unavailable, and there's minimal ability to customize what you order (for example, i asked for extra tomatoes on a burger and was told all their meals are preassembled with only 2, but they'd check if there were extra tomato slices in the fridge). Several times, I've paid extra for the side salad only to receive old lettuce (it was red) with no vegetables. Some nights they have special prices on wings, ribs, or the burger, so always ask! 4 stars because it's honestly overpriced for the food and slow service. read more

There is a reason the parking lot isn't packed. However when you pull up and get out of the car it smells really good. Once you get inside that smell goes away. The steaks are very poor quality. We order two different size rib eyes and they were exactly the same size. When I questioned the size difference the cook argued with me and then brought out two steaks that were clearly two different sizes. One thick and one thin. He claimed that the steak reduced in size when he cooked it. I was already disappointed about the salad that was pulled out of the fridge in a plastic container. However the $17 steak was also on a plastic plate as well. The salad was a bowl full of lettuce and one grape tomato chopped in half. I didn't eat my meal and they did offer to refund it. The kids sliders had cold unmelted cheese. However the burger did taste ok. All was good well done when we asked for medium well. I guess it's hard to get steaks that are so thin to medium well. I was excited to try the new restaurant in town; my husband was skeptical. I like supporting my community but, I LOVE supporting small businesses. We walked in and were looked at like we walked into the wrong side of town. I wanted to leave but, we decided to stay. I understand times are changing and technology is forcing us to change with it but, the kiosk ordering didn't match the menu offerings. It was clean, neat, and organized. My husband got the 9 oz ribeye entree and I got the salmon. and drinks our total was $45.00 We were instructed to get our prepackaged salads, dressings, and cheese from a cooler. I didn't find a salad without brown lettuce and the one I finally settled on had 1 1/2 grape tomorrow on top. The silverware was sitting out in a sorting tub exposed to everything and there was food on some of them. We self-serves our drinks from the fountain. As we sat trying to remain optimistic, I mentioned to my husband how weird it was to be in a restaurant and not smell food. He agreed. Our food arrived on plastic plates, nothing wrong with plastic plates but, once again the menu didn't match the experience. The steak was average, the salmon was very dry and tasteless. In the middle of our meal, a group of people walked in of a different ethnicity and the same guy that ignored us when we walked in, went out of his way to greet them. We cleaned our table and left the restaurant to nothing... no thanks for coming, how was everything, hope to see you again... nothing. Needless to say, this was my first and last visit. No one should walk out of a business after spending their hard earned money feeling the way I felt. As a business owner myself, this experience reminds me just how important excellent customer service is to success. It can make or break you. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. The chef here at "King Tut"- was the head chef over al of the "Steak Out" locations... His nickname is "Tiny" and he can flatout cook a steak! Got a flier and thought we'd give it a shot. I got the ribeye sandwich and was super disappointed. The steak had little flavor and was on a warmed up bread with American cheese. Not worth the 13$. My wife had the salmon with sweet pot and the sweet pot was "the worst sweet potato she ever had" especially at almost 20$. My mother-in-laws meal was also disappointing. Although we are stuck inside and can't have date nights as usual. This restaurant really delivers to your door and to your tummy. We wanted a good steak and were tired off the same spots. I was able to order directly from the restaurant, and not go through a third party food delivery. Needless to say, the steaks tasted as if were straight from a wood fired grill. I ordered medium rare, and lo and behold, I was given a medium rare steak!!! It's not often takeout or delivery steaks are actually what you order. I threw in an order of 6 wings to try them out. I really underestimated that small order. The smoked wings were phenomenal!!!! I loved every bite I ate. I ordered cheesecake for dessert, but my tummy can't handle another bite. If it's as good as the rest of the meal, I'll have myself a great little late night snack. I thought I was tired of delivery and takeout, but King Tut grill has renewed my palette. This was 4th time we had eaten take out from there. Normally I have it delivered. But tonight I picked it up. I got the 12oz NY Strip $25.99. More expensive than Outback. But food has had such great flavor in the past and good cuts of meat. Today the meat was over half the weight in fat and it was medium rare instead of medium. Burnt on the bottom side and didn't have any flavor that we are use to from KING TUT. This picture is of all the fat that was left. It was so tough I could hardly cut it with my steak knife. Could this be a new cook ? IDK, but for these prices is simpsonville they really need to have consistent cuts of meat. My g/f had the philly Cheesesteak and it was good. Nothing special. First things first you order at a kiosk and have to get your own salad, drinks, and sides. The steak was extremely fatty and not marblized fat but fat, low quality cut and it had that burnt grill flavor. You also get your own silver wear and it was filthy and you could see where other people sorted through it too(they set it aside) and it wasn't water spots but actual food particles stuck to it. Both trash cans were over filled and that given said it wasn't a rush hour time frame either. There were 4 other tables and 2 folks at the bar and that's it. 32 beers on tap. Bud light, Michelob ultra, and other generic beer is not what I would be bragging about having on a tap.
