*Experience during Covid-19* Mutt's is a solid buffet style BBQ restaurant in upstate South Carolina. To be safe through the pandemic, you cannot self-serve yourself at the buffet. When you go up to the buffet You will tell staff what you want and they will make your plate for you. We also had an awesome waitress, who after we got our initial food items, would often check in to take away plates or bring us other items from the buffet we'd like saving us the trip back to the buffet. The buffet has quite a variety of items to choose from (and even a separate ice cream buffet cooler you can choose from for dessert). I sampled many items from the buffet (first time here) and the standout items to me were the mac and cheese (soooo good), fried chicken, hash and rice, and pulled pork (gonna need to put some sauce on it though). I left full and satisfied and would def return if I'm in the area again.

    Fried chicken

just now The staff, for the most part is friendly, most of them, but my last experience was not good, because this is around the third time or fourth time I went there to get a chicken dinner, which included sweet potato crunch, potato salad, two breast, something very simple. The breast was very dry. The sweet potato crunch was one big clump of brown sugar with stringy potatoes, the fried chicken, the skin looked white from sitting out too long when I called the next day, they told me I had to wait to get my money back prior to that a guy name. Aiden had told me the day that I called that if I come back the next day he will give me my money back when I get there , he tells me the district manager has to refund me keep in mind I did not use a card I paid cash so I asked him the district manager has to refund me $13 you can't refund me I'll call the district manager and he said no being that I was going out of town I told him that I would ask him to call the district manager but to no avail so I have to wait a week when I come back to get $13 cash I will not go to this establishment anymore. The one in Greer is the best the mutts in Mauldin has never been able to prepare the food like the one in Greer the Greer location has never missed a beat, and they accommodate you at all times they were super friendly, and always willing to go above and beyond

Ok, here I go.....I so wanted to love this place. Based on the reviews, my sons and I were so looking forward to eating here. We were going to go to the Greer location, but were told that the Mauldin location was better. So there we went. First impression, good because the lady at the front counter was absolutely wonderful! She was friendly and very welcoming. We got there in the early afternoon, so it wasn't crowded at all. The train that goes around the restaurant is so cute. Very nice atmosphere. Now, the food....There isn't a large variety of food, just the basics that you would have at a barbecue. The green beans : Not fresh. You can tell they came from a can, and needed more seasoning The collard greens: From a can, not fresh collards, and bland The fried chicken : Tasty The fried baby shrimp : Tasty The ribs : Very tender, but no smoky flavor or seasoning The sauces : Cold and watery. I wasn't impressed by any of the sauces. Sweet Baby Rays tastes way better My son's enjoyed the macaroni and cheese, fried chicken and fried shrimp. They didn't enjoy the ribs, and didn't try the other sides. Maybe we went at a bad time, but overall I am not impressed. I gave it a 3 because of the friendly hostess, nice atmosphere and for the fact that some of the food was tasty.

This is one of several Mutt's in the area and it has very good food and service Folks. Now if You don't like the All You Can Eat Buffet Style, Serve Yourself, then don't visit. I was very Surprised how Good the Fried Chicken was!!! Also they have good options of Veggies too. Nope Didn't Have Room for the Desserts, so You are on Your Own!!!

Hands down the best buffet food I have ever had in my life, regardless of cuisine!!!! Better than the swanky ones in Vegas, AC and other casinos, this place is legit. I would dare to say they have top 2 best fried chicken I have ever eaten.....And I have eaten A LOT of fried chicken! Their BBQ was fall off the bone good. The reviews dont lie, I would go 50 miles....maybe more out of my way to eat here!

The menu and the food was why I came here. I am originally from Greenville, SC and as a child my…read moreparents and grandparents would take me to a Carolina Fine Foods or a Pete's restaurant to eat a hamburger plate (which is a meal). It would include a burger as the entree with fries and Cole slaw. Whenever you ordered a plate that is what you would receive with an entree sandwich, hotdog, etc. The food would be cooked fresh! So I came here with that expectation and they did not disappoint me. The customer service was friendly. The young ladies at the register took our orders with a smile. One told me this location was not connected to any others. They offered a wide selection of food. They have a hot bar served during the week for breakfast and lunch. You do not see many places like that anymore. Ryan's, Quincy's and Shoney's are gone who were popular hot bar Restaurants. They have Seafood which I never knew a Carolina Fine Foods would serve perch, shrimp and other items. So check them out, my hubby was excited and definitely wants to return to try the other food. I ordered a hamburger plate with onion rings and he ordered a Cheeseburger plate with half fries and half onion rings.

I've not ordered their short orders, but I don't care to try. I was disappointed because I really wanted buffet southern food and this appears to be the only location in the Simpsonville/Fountain Inn area to have a buffet (besides Chinese restaurants). The service was excellent and the atmosphere is basic cafeteria style where lots of elderly locals gather for lunch. Was very clean location, but just wasn't suitable for my taster. Great location however. One would have to try it to give their opinion and not necessarily accept my opinion on taste.

Y'all. We eat at a lot of Indian restaurants and at this point, it's difficult to stand out. When…read moreI tell you Persis stood out, believe me. We were in Greenville for the week on vacation. We had already had "okay" Indian delivery from another place in town on Monday. My wife was shopping at a store in the plaza, so I decided to go check Persis out rather than wait outside a dressing room. Saw they had Masala Dosa on the menu and promptly forgot which store my wife was in. The masala dosa was amazing. Crisp on the ends, good flavor, the masala in the middle was just spicy enough and nicely done. The tomato chutney had nice spice, and the coconut chutney was good also. The sambar was probably the best I've had in my life. I probably would have fought you for it. The lady managing the place was outgoing and welcoming and chatted me up while I was there. She heard we were traveling and told us we should come back on Friday for the buffet. Unlimited dosa? I ain't dumb. We went back two days later as instructed. The buffet was large and had a great selection of veg and non-veg selections, as well as a dosa station. Here are my highlights: Tawa Vegetables- basically griddled seasoned veg mix. These were a stand out item for us. Simple veg but done really well. Eggplant with green chilis - this was suggested to be spicy, but I didn't find it to be so, and I'm a bit of a weenie. It had good flavor, and Baingan Bharta is my all time favorite, so it was fun to try a different yet similar dish. Veg Biryani - light and well cooked. I enjoyed it very much. Butter Chicken - Y'all, this might be the first time in my life I've seen someone make butter chicken with texture and richness to this level. When they say it's their signature dish, I understand why. The chicken was grilled and had *actual* char marks, giving it actual texture and flavor. The curry tasted amazing and had so much butter that it was richer than Jeff Bezos. I almost couldn't finish it because it was so rich, but Mama didn't raise a quitter. 10/10, would eat again right now. There was a fish dish that I didn't try and a Chana Saag I just never made room for. There were many choices across a wide swath of foods and flavors. The Chai they had was also excellent. Apparently they make their own Chai Masala rather than a mix. The staff was friendly and checked on us many times. Overall, 10/10 and would go back to Greenville just to eat here again.

It makes me think that it's a cost cutting measure and they're trying to dupe their customers. Service was non existent because of another cost cutting measure: 1 waiter.
