So much promise and so much potential.....oh well. Drove by and was impressed with the exterior. Checked reviews in Yelp and it has a 4 star rating so I went inside. Didn't realize this is a BUFFET. Cost is only $13.50 and includes a drink and dessert so I gave them a chance. Lots of options to choose from and I ate 3 plates of food so I tried A LOT! Inside is really cute. This is a log cabin and they have a shelf near the ceiling and a train track runs around the perimeter of the restaurant. Server was very friendly and keep the tables clean. However the food was just AVERAGE AT BEST. BBQ meats were OVER COOKED and even though the restaurant had only been open a couple hours they seemed to have been sitting in the heat lamps too long. Food was a good value but I won't be back.

Is this an all you can eat buffet or just put a plate together and sit?

It's all you can eat. The server will give you an extra plate when you're ready for round 2 or 5. Lol

They have a large selection and almost everything is home made. We were greeted promptly and welcomed with a friendly smile by the cashier. We ordered ribs and a side of pork. We were disappointed with the ribs . It was the end cut and they were overcooked and dry. Very disappointing compared to prior photos I have seen. The nightlight of the visit was the cobbler. It was wonderful. Served warm with a scoop of ice cream. We would return and hope for a better serving of ribs.

That's why Game Day will be seeing me again and again. Unlike most BBQ joints with the focus being on the meat and little attention given to much else, Game Day is thoughtful about everything. Beginning to end. We were told that they make as many dishes in house as possible. Right down to the Oreo Banana Pudding (which I did not try, we'll make that an excuse to go back). He said no instant pudding mix here. As someone who has created made plenty of custards. I admire this. I had the Pulled Pork Plate with my sides being Collard Greens, Potato Salad, Pork Crackins. If you know anything about me, you know I'm a sucker for house made pork cracklins! The pulled pork was delicious, served naked just like I like it. Why smother it in sauce when you can have the sauce on the side. And you can try ALL the sauces that way . The Collard Greens were out of this world. The perfect blend of sweet heat and a hint of vinegar. Potato Salad was legit. Not trying to pretend to be fancy or complex but just good classic potato salad. The owner offered me some vinegar sauce for my Crackins and wow, the combination of the crispy still popping hot pork rind and the vinegar sauce was over the top. He was right. Hubby had the Redneck Cubano and said it was amazing as well. Thanks for the hospitality and bomb grub Game Day, we will see you soon!

It was lunch time and I wanted to try a few different things to see what they were doing here. I got a brisket sandwich, which was ok (I did not discern any smoked flavor) but the portioning was underwhelming. The cheese did not add anything to the sandwich. I also ordered a hot link and I ended up adding several slices of the link to the underwhelming sandwich to give it some substance. And lastly, I ordered a mac & cheese eggroll - ok, but nothing special. This was a take out order and I got the hot BBQ sauce, which was pretty good. Overall, the BBQ here is just middling and I've had much better. Maybe some of the other menu options would change my mind, but doubtful I'll return. One other item of note - this business will add on a 2% hospitality tax, a 2.5% take out tax and a 2.99% credit card surcharge to your bill (if you pay by credit card). I don't know if these additional taxes are manditory state or local taxes, but I would presume so. When the anti-tax morons scream and cry about property taxes and income taxes, this is what you end up with. And everyone is adding credit card surcharges now, so no surprise there. There is of course an additional sales tax added on the order, which I presume is the standard state sales tax. For those of you who are mathematically challenged, there is also an handy Suggested Additional Tip chart at the bottom of your receipt, if you are so inclined. It's based on check price before discounts and taxes and will tell you so.

Right away, the service stands out. We were greeted and immediately offered a sample of brisket, which set the tone. The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and the ordering process has a really smooth, well thought out flow that keeps things moving without feeling rushed. We sat on the covered patio, which was clean, comfortable, and a great place to enjoy a meal. Now, the food. This is where it really shines. I'm a bit of a BBQ aficionado, so I'll be a little nitpicky, but none of this takes away from how great it was overall. The brisket was phenomenal. We tried both lean and fatty--both were excellent. If I had to critique anything, it leaned slightly salty, but the bark, smoke, and overall flavor were outstanding. The pulled pork was just as impressive. Tener, moist, and packed with flavor, with no wasted bits. The Texas sausage was incredibly flavorful, though slightly on the mealy side texturally. That said, the green chile cheddar sausage was an absolute standout. Loaded with flavor, chiles, and cheese. A must-order. The sides were the only area that didn't quite keep pace with the meats. The beans were a bit undercooked and lacking depth of flavor. The slaw was fresh and well-balanced, but not particularly memorable. The corn pudding was solid, but again, nothing that stood out. The sauces also deserve some recognition. All four were fantastic, each with its own unique profile. Honestly, I could've just sat there sampling them on their own. They paired perfectly with different meats and added another layer to the experience. Overall, this is an incredible BBQ spot. While it may not quite reach the level of some top tier Texas joints, it absolutely rivals them and stands out as one of the best you'll find outside of Texas.

When I came in, there was no line which was amazing! They let you sample the meats before you get it. You gotta get the brisket! Literally the best brisket I've ever had. I sampled a burnt end piece and fell in love lol The brisket was so juicy, tender and well seasoned. It had a nice crispy crust and just melts in your mouth. The pork ribs were also very good! The crust was so good. The meat didn't quite fall off the bone but was still delicious! The fries were also perfectly crispy, hot, and balanced out the bbq well. They have plenty of seating bunch of picnic tables outside and quite a few tables inside. They also have a bar inside. I wish I lived closer so I could come back more lol I'll definitely have to shop by again next time I'm in the area.

Order at the counter and they hand it to you and you take it to the table. No table service. Now for the food. Four pulled pork plates and a 1/2 chicken plate. I had one of the pulled pork plates with cucumbers salad and their sweet potato crunch. For those that don't know I am a bbq snob. We have smoked many a pound of pork. This pork was ok. It was however chopped which does change the taste. Also it was a bit dry and had gristle. I had several large pieces of gristle on my plate but the others did not. Could be due to I was the last one. The sauces were a yellow and a ketchup based. Actually mixed them and found them to be good. I usually do not like the mustard sauce. Mixed it worked well. The cucumber salad was very good and was given in abundance. The sweet potato crunch also surprised me and was delicious also. Now the sweet tea was absolutely naughty. Wow it was so good. Over all not a bad meal. Bbqing for a large operation is tough and my old school way would not make production so I have to take that into account. Typical old school BBQ joint with long tables and order at the counter. You will leave smelling smoky no doubt. Plenty of parking except right at the rush.
