While visiting Greenville I tried the breakfast buffet here. Server was really nice and place was clean. Food was pretty decent, I was looking forward to the shrimp and grits but somehow even sitting in the heating bin the fish was cold. A shame cuz they were fried perfectly. The food is amazing! Too many "southern style" restaurants use WAY too much salt! Not here! The collards are cooked fresh - never canned, you can sure tell that. The mashed potatoes and gravy are anything but simply that. Every style of bean is flavorful, well-seasoned, and perfectly tender. The meats are cooked "just right". Their code of cleanliness is not matched anywhere! Every single employee is nice, helpful, smiling and able to describe each item on the buffet. (Even the patrons are among the nicest and friendliest you could hope to meet anywhere.) I would shout "eat here!" From the rooftops if I were able! My friend and I eat in, and then also get a "to-go" box for later, it is THAT good! They keep the buffet items stirred and refreshed constantly - no dried out tops here - ever! I was down visiting my sisters family in South Carolina and my brother in law picked this meat and 3 buffet, Fhinney's as his choice lunch for Father's Day and raves about how good it was. It was not yet completely slammed but getting busy. Price wise, it's pretty inexpensive but many items fell flat for me; the lettuce was browning on much of the salad bar lettuce and the fried chicken was over cooked. I will say the cabbage and yeast rolls were excellent, the meatloaf, green beans. Mac and cheese were pretty decent. Overall, it was just pretty average for me. I like the buffet aspect, but it's expected you will lose some quality for more quantity as a general rule. read more

Came in for breakfast on a rainy Sunday and this hit spots in my heart that I didn't realize were missing. I lost my mom a few years back and they had every single item she used to make on Sundays that I've never been able to make the same at home myself.
