If you are looking for good BBQ at a great buffet price under $10 this is the place. Buffet has all the fixings, macaroni and cheese, green beans, hush puppies... Along with BBQ chicken and ribs, everything we had was good. To top it all off price includes tea/drink and selection of dessert, peach cobbler or pudding. Fabulous food at a price that keeps us coming back. Our out of town guests also love it. Sweet potato crunch is a must try. Very nice wrap around porch with outdoor seating. Clean. If you have any appreciation for BBQ, don't bother with Mutts. It consistently is placed on must-try BBQ lists and I honestly can't figure out why. The meat is flavorless and requires sauce to be edible. That's a cardinal sin in BBQ. Tried this place for the first time and loved it. Great food, great price! Even the drinks and desert came with your buffet meal. The sweet potato casserole was what I needed (great comfort food) and the ribs...the meat literally just fell of the bone Friendly staff I like going to places where you can tell the staff like there job. The kids were intrigued by the train that looped around the room. Definitely a bookmark when we come back to visit. You won't be disappointed. read more

Unfortunate and disappointing meal. Mutts used to be one of our favorite restaurants. We will never return after tonight's meal. Chicken was dry and the brunswick stew tasted sour (we were told it was prepared 1-2 days ago.) But that was not the worst. I requested to purchase a child's meal as the portions are smaller and I don't eat much due to dietary restrictions. This had been accommodated in the past. I was told no, therefore I didn't purchase a meal. My husband and son did. We sat at the table and I had 1 hushpuppy and a bite of chicken from my son's and husband's plate. The staff that denied me the child's plate came to our table and told me to STOP eating from their plates. Mind you he removed his mask as he reprimanded me! He told me I was rude for eating off their plate and I was STEALING from the restaurant! I attempted to defend my position which he then said I had to stop or leave the restaurant. He then told me If I continued to eat off their plate then he would call the police!! Never, ever again will I eat there. read more

Today was my first and LAST time visiting this location. I came on Saturday at around 2:30 when I noticed the white board that read "Saturday Buffet - Adults $11.99, Seniors $11.49 etc." My grandmother and I asked for two buffets and a side of French fries and when the prices popped up on the monitor the adult buffet registered to $12.49 and the Senior $11.99. Upon speaking to the manager he quickly dismissed us by saying "well someone was too lazy to change the pricing and there's nothing we could do." We continued to pay after the rude service and mentioned in fact that was false advertisement. How does someone change the day of the week on the white board but not the pricing? We will not be coming back. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER!! You cannot sit down unless you have paid for your meal. I was made to get up!!! When you pay for your meal, you must go through the line before you sit down!! Thus, when we got ready to pay....we were asked if we wanted to sit outside!!! There were no seats available inside. While their process may be acceptable to some, there is no indication anywhere, prior to getting your turn to pay....that you cannot sit down until filling your plate AND you may be required to sit outside. read more

This restaurant is truly awful. I love bbq and this cheap burger stand doesn't even deserve the title as a bbq restaurant. The service is awful too and it's just a pathetic excuse for a restaurant. I'm a college student at North Greenville and was just driving around looking for some lunch in Greer (I'm from Maryland) and I happen upon this place that I thought looked good. I was so wrong. Possibly the worst restaurant I've ever been to. I pity everyone who steps foot in that hell hole. read more

I LOVE MUTTS! I've been to all of their locations and love them all. Whenever I come to the Spartanburg/Greenville area for work I can't help but stop in. They have everything! I travel alot for work and have come here on so many different occasions, it's the highlight of coming down to South Carolina for work. Easily THE BEST buffet I've ever been to. Unlike other buffets, their food isn't disgusting and constantly sitting under heat lamps. There are always a ton of people there so the food goes fast and they are constantly replenishing it. All of their food is super fresh and filled with flavor. Each location is always packed too, filled with locals which is always a good sign. The place is super clean and lots of servers are constantly coming around to clean up table and refill ice teas, great service. They have such a huge variety of food available, it's a great way to sample alot of different southern food fare for dirt cheap. If you're visiting from out of town, you definitely have to stop here. I cannot recommend this place enough, two thumbs WAY UP!!! read more

My first ever all-you-can-eat bbq buffet. I have to admit, pretty solid. The prices were SO affordable. The ribs were tender and flavorful. I tried to take a bite size sample of everything they offered. There were plenty of side dish options, too. We forced ourselves to go through the buffet twice....ugh. Not my smartest moment - as I spent the following few hours in stomach stretching agony. My second round did include another helping of ribs, mac & cheese, and hush puppies. I figured I would get my fix for the next month or so just on this trip alone. But I hate to say I am craving another visit. The staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant was clean and staff members were constantly cleaning up. The rest rooms were also well managed. Overall, I was genuinely impressed and will be back....likely sooner than planned. I do, however, wish the had a hotter version of the bbq sauces...I prefer just a touch more heat. read more

I'm from the south and had the opportunity to travel. The barbecue here is ok. Nothing to jump up and down about. It's very bland with little to no flavor. The waitresses are very sweet and polite. However they are really just table cleaners. The building is a beautiful log house. The fried chicken is horrible. The skin was amazing however the meat it self was very tough and had no flavor. The Mac-n-cheese honestly tasted like was only noodles with American cheese. I am love barbecue and have tasted barbecue from MS, New Orleans to South Carolina. This barbecue is at the bottom. The price is excellent. We paid $37 for two adults and two kids. But the quality of food is not great. Best of luck. read more

When I have hungry company and need to feed them, this buffet is where I take them. Everyone gets full and I don't go broke. The ribs are good, but the amazing sides are better: mac and cheese, potato salad, even the beans are better than average. And if they'd rather have chicken or something else it is available. We hired Mutts to cater my daughter's wedding reception...Huge Mistake!! They were 2 hours late getting to the venue and setting up, after we placed 4 calls inquiring where they were. We delayed the ceremony more than 20 minutes and they finally arrived to set up 20 minutes after the ceremony took place. They brought cheap Styrofoam plates & cups with their logo after being told we did not want to use their paper products. If the service wasn't bad enough they packed up everything after about an hour, including the sweet tea & lemonade so our guests had nothing to drink. When told we were very unhappy & were willing to pay only half the bill until I spoke with the manager the next day, the moron they had "serving" call his manager to come back to our venue. The manager then tried to blame the bride, stating she changed the time of the reception...TOTALLY NOT TRUE!!! The manager was unable to provide any proof of the change as his wife who had taken the message could not remember with whom she had spoken to about the alleged time change. The food was mediocre at best, but the service was horrendous. It is obvious these folks have absolutely NO concept of customer service and all they care about is turning a buck. My daughter's reception was ruined when she was pulled from her guests to argue with the manager for over 20 minutes. Against my better judgment, we paid the bill in full to get rid of this jerk. Please take heart & NEVER consider this place for any catering job unless you're dead set on a hillbilly hoe-down with pork & beans from a can served up with some tasteless mac & cheese! And remember to bring your own drinks because theirs won't be sticking around!! read more

I travel about an hour and a half to get to Mutt's and it's well worth the travel. I've brought several groups of friends here and they like it too. Great ribs. The fried chicken is something special! Veggies are great and so is the pink lemonade and banana pudding. I'm an old Florida boy with a deep seeded love for Sonny's BBQ. That said, I've had BBQ in ALL the well known areas for BBQ (Kansas city, Memphis, st Louis etc). Mutts is now my favorite place for BBQ. The ribs fall off the bone and melt in your mouth. The fried chicken and greens? Haven't had this tasty since my granny died. The Mac and cheese was just right. Potato salad is a hit or miss for me. Mutts fires on all cylinders. The BBQ chicken is moist and tender. The desserts are meh but let's be honest, you're not there for the desserts. The only thing that could possibly make mutts better is the meat could be a bit smokier and some sliced pork shoulder would be nice. The fried okra was super crispy and flavorful. Service was good and attentive. Friendly place all around. The buffet was like $12 (lunch). How do you beat that? The sauces were all tasty but ultimately I settled on the sweet and Smokey.(Florida boy, remember?). I'll be back and bring friends with me. I live in asheville nc and BBQ had lost its way here. Too fru fru!! $17 for 4 tiny strips of brisket with some BS reduction of yak spleen compote etc??? Get bent! Mutts is what BBQ should be...tasty, reasonably priced in a down to earth atmosphere. The food is ok but the staff and owner are dishonest.They added $40.00 to my $23 order and will not give me my 40 back.Even when I showed up with my receipt and bank statement they still denied the facts.The girl who took my money lied and they chose to believe her because she happens to be the owner's daughter.The owner never returned any of my calls and when I went there for the 2nd time was told that I would not be getting the money back that is owed to me.He also told me I could never return to the premises.So if anyone goes to mutts in greer do not use a debit card because they can add whatever amount they want to to your bill and you can't ever get that money back.I got very upset.Not only did they steal 40 dollars from me but then called me a liar and told to leave.Nothing like this has ever happened to me in my 60 years. read more

During an exhausting drive, I passed this cute log cabin restaurant, thought for 30 seconds, and turned around. If I couldn't't find antiques, perhaps I would at least have some good bbq. I entered and found two friendly hosts, one explaining I could get to go, for here, or buffet, which is the best bet on Tuesdays . . . food, drink, and dessert for $11.99. I piled the plate with tastes of my favorites, but was disappointed to find NC-style chopped bbq I had hoped to escape. Luckily I found fried chicken and ribs. The first bite of pork rind was hard and flavorless. "At least I'm hungry." The okra was "eh". And then the unexpected . . . the most melt -in-your-mouth chicken I had ever eaten! I ate the thigh with relish only stopping to wipe the grease from my fingers with the aptly supplied paper towels from the table. The ribs were ok, but the bbq sauce was a proper tomato-based mix, not 80% vinegar I had regrettably grown used to. The mac and cheese left a nice full feeling, but not too full for sweet potato casserole, peach cobbler banana pudding, and chocolate pudding, little bits of each just to taste, that is. After all, what else is a buffet good for? They even have ice cream sandwiches, which I was too full to eat. I finished off my meal while watching the toy train circle above the patrons' heads.
