Buffet style service. As soon as I walked in the door I was asked what I wanted to drink, it was at my table before I finished selecting which of all the fixing's I would it. While I was getting my plate together, one of the workers was already adding and replacing what had been eaten by previous patrons. The food was deliciousssssssssssssssssssssssssss. The place is a bit smokey, you'll leave smelling like a deep south restaurant but after eating so well, its worth it. read more

No seasoning bland food looks gross I eat with my eyes before I eat and I wouldn't put ANYTHING on my plate there is no BBQ just fried chicken sides are runny and soupy if I could I would leave 0 stars I would definitely would not recommend read more

This is a buffet place. The food at this place tastes good although it doesn't look good. Mostly everything is fried. Not much of a BBQ place. We did not have any interaction with the staff other than the one time they brought water to our table. Not the place we would come back to. read more

While on vacation traveling on I26 towards Spartanburg we stumbled upon the best BBQ buffet! The service and atmosphere were a delight! The Mac and cheese homemade delicious! Dessert, A Must homemade German Chocolate and Pineapple pound cake!!! Fried chicken too! If traveling nearby you have to stop!! read more

NO BBQ. Super rude. Gross buffet food. Only meat was roasted or fried chicken. Greens tasted like soap

The food was excellent and at a very reasonable price! The staff were really friendly and treated our family nicely. I'm glad we found this place as we drove through the area! read more

Food was tasteless. The layout is very unorganized and no customer service. Unfortunately, i don't recommend

Off the beaten path, hands down some of the best soul food I've had! This place is categorized under bbq but I'm going to call it soul food based on what the options were the day we were there for lunch. It was a Wednesday we had the choice between fried chicken (every day) or turkey & dressing. Everything else on the buffet was awesome. Mac & cheese was homemade, green beans yum, fried okra, cream corn, corn bread, cucumber salad etc!!! BF said collard greens were the best he has ever had. Sweet potatoes just right with marshmallows, sweet & hot. Dessert was banana pudding with banana wafers! Sweet tea is on point. Water costs $.25 just FYI. I took quite a few pictures including price, menu's, interior & exterior because I think more people should know about this place & drive out of their way to go! Lunch buffet was $7.75 per person. PS the people working here are so sweet! read more

I don't think i have ever left a review before, but this place here deserves it. If you're in a 50 miles radius of this place, I'd recommend coming to this spot everyday for lunch. The food was killer, the service was incredible, and majority of the customers are regulars. After my first time trying it today, i realized why! MUST TRY!!! read more

I think this place could be ok if it wasn't so extremely dirty, and the owner lady didn't have such a bad attitude! Food is "ok" , but definitely not great. Seriously, the place should be shut down by DHEC for the incredible level of neglect to cleanliness! They were closed for a year due to COVID, but never cleaned the place!!! Seriously? WTF?!?! Shame on these people for not caring about their appearance and safety for their customers! read more

I have gone to the Mustard Seed the last 2 Saturday mornings for the breakfast buffet. It is the best deal in the county! We will be regulars. Hope to return soon for a dinner! read more

Great little place..the staff was nice and helpful. This was my first time there. Was greeted upon entering and the food was good.. I got three veggie plates to go and the price was reasonable. I will return. read more

What an awesome restaurant! We just left Charleston/Folly Beach and this was without a doubt the best food we had all week! And at a price of $7.95! We had fried chicken, turkey/dressing/gravy, fried pork chop - all homemade & delicious! Desserts included in buffet: key lime pie, banana pudding, peach cobbler, chocolate cake/chocolate icing - all homemade! The owners were a very friendly married couple that make all the food themselves and they seemed to enjoy talking with their customers. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by, you won't be disappointed. And if you have Dr. Enuf in your area, be sure to take them a case - or two! We are already planning a visit back this way to enjoy their food again. Their buffet changes daily too! read more

Awesome food! I love that you can still find family places that feel like home. Will definitely return to try other options.

Awesome food at a great price !! Can't beat it !! Different main course every day and always some great fried chicken. Definitely recommend this place read more

I've lived in Woodruff for years and have never driven down to the Mustard Seed. I went for the Mac and Cheese and stayed for the Spaghetti! Mac and Cheese was top notch, for sure, but that was some of the best spaghetti I've eaten. Now, I'm kicking myself for waiting so long on trying this yummy gem! read more

This lil hidden gem ... is the best we have had in a long time !!! The food was delicious and the owners were making sure, everyone is taken care of ... it was our first time there, but it will definitely not be our last !! read more

Hole in the wall on the way through town. Small buffet but everything on it was absolutely amazing. They even had fried chicken livers when we stopped in! You want a good country buffet, you come here! read more

Heard about this place and wanted to see if it lived up to the hype. It exceeded my expectations. The Soul Food buffet table looks small but it features all types of food from grilled, fried, stewed, salads, deserts and several fixings. They even use styrofoam plates which made us feel like we were eating at a relatives house. I tried everything on the buffet and every item was tasty and the appropriate temperature. If you're going on Sunday, get there before noon because this place is quickly becoming a local favorite. Oh and make sure you get the sweet tea. read more

Large tall waitress was not friendly. We had to ask four times for our tea. Only one of us ever got a refill. Breakfast food on hot bar was not hot. Water pooling in the hash, hard scrambled eggs, bacon deep fried and hard as bricks, sausages were undercooked but had been in the deep fryer too. Fried bologna was deep fried and had hot sauce coating. Grits was crunchy and greasy margarine in them. Biscuits were frozen and baked, not homemade. Gravy had lumps and was clearly a package black pepper gravy you buy in store, not homemade. Fst back was deep fried too and just as greasy. We could not eat the cold greasy food. That waitress was rude! Spoke to men and people of color, ignored all the rest of us. We will never go back. read more

Bring your stretchy big boy and big girl pants. The food is delicious but you will be full and sleepy within an hour lol. They are very friendly and they have multiple dessert options. $7.75 for lunch is pretty good too. Their mac and cheese is the bomb! Good southern food! Bigger salad options would be a plus for sure. read more

Great little hole in the wall place. We were traveling thru and looked on Yelp for a great lunch place. Everything we had was great! We had a whole Thanksgiving dinner...turkey, corn bread dressing and all the fixings. The yams were the best I've ever had! I tried to get the recipe, but no one would give it up! The fried chicken was great also. I think the menus changes daily. I think anything from here would be good. We would certainly stop in often if we lived in the area. read more

What a friendly place. Everything on the buffet was delicious. Fried chicken, Mac-n-Cheese, meatloaf, fried okra, all delicious.

Had the Buffett, delicious felt like I was invited to dinner at their home.. Friendly service and clean. read more

What a great find! The buffet tasted as good as it looked. I don't eat greens but felt like I should try theirs and they were good! The first greens I've ever liked. Great turkey and dressing, yams, potato salad, chocolate cake, and banana pudding... but the mac n cheese was amazing. Their prices are super reasonable and the owners were so friendly. We found something in common right away and really enjoyed their company. They have something different every day and their breakfast sounds great, too. Can't wait to return. read more

Talk about good cookin'. If you want a taste of the south, this is the place for you. Southern cookin', BBQ, family-like atmosphere, and more. It felt like I stepped back into my grandma's kitchen. Even during a pandemic, I felt safe to eat here. read more

Hot, dirty, poor attitudes and doesn't have bbq. Buffet has hardly anything to choose from

Great spot for anyone seeking a taste of traditional southern cooking! We came for lunch and had a buffet. The buffet didn't have tons of options, but everything was WONDERFUL... fried chicken, cube steak and gravy, chicken liver, meatloaf, green beans, collards, Mac & cheese, plus a cold bar with at least as many items. There were also four or so dessert options. read more

We stopped for lunch on our travels. The food was delicious. But as mentioned previously, I would consider the menu to be more southern than barbecue. The buffet had fried chicken, fried pork chops as well as pulled pork in addition to numerous sides and desserts. read more

Yum! So much good food! Buffet was awesome. I'm so glad Yelp told us about this place.

Every day the Mustard Seed offers a different buffet of homemade delights of scrumptiousness. Some sides are very simple but they are surrounded by tender, light biscuits, cornbread muffins, homemade baked mac and cheese, corn relish, potato salad from scratch, many salads from scratch, summer squash, and the fried chicken, fried chicken livers, country steak and gravy were worth the drive from Chicago! The dessert bar featured homemade banana pudding, chocolate cobbler, cheesecake, pecan pie, brownies, and did I mention they were all homemade? This buffet was all you could eat for $8.50. My only disappointment was there was no BBQ but once I saw the buffet, I forgot all about it. read more

This little gem is much more than a barbecue restaurant. It's more home cooking than anything and offers a tasty selection each day of the week. The food is very good...cooked right and flavored well. With a nice variety and price of around $8.00, the Mustard Seed simply can't be beat. read more

Mustard Seed - Barbeque Near Me - Woodruff, South Carolina

Home cooking at its best. I come on a regular basis the chicken is really really good along with everything thing else

We met there today for my husbands birthday. My daughter fell on the greasy floor and hit her knee really hard. Neither one of the owners came over to see if she was okay. As we came around from the Buffett I told both of them that the floor was slick and they should put a rug down. The man said "that floor ain't slick it's probably her shoes ". Not , "is she ok or yes we will definitely take care of that" . After we ate, my husband told the lady owner that she should write down our daughters name and phone number in case she has to see a doctor. Again - not a caring word came out of her mouth. No "Hope she's ok". Or "we are so sorry this happened ". We had been repeat customers but never again !!!! They were indifferent and rude. They better Hope she doesn't have a serious injury. I worked with the public for 36 years and I can't believe they continue to stay in business when they obviously don't care about their customers. Word of mouth goes a long way and I will tell EVERYONE about our experience there today! read more

We met some friends who were traveling on 26, and didn't want fast food. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but their food was delicious! The cost was very reasonable too, considering everything is homemade. The only reason it got 4 and not 5 stars, maybe it was just the day, but the lady behind the register barely spoke to us. It wasn't clear if we should have sat ourselves, or how the buffet worked. We just grabbed a plate and went. read more

Wow wow wow wow! What a great place! Friendly! And the pan fried chicken? I saw my Mom after first bite! All I can say is bookmark this place you locals! I am passing through on business and have to find way back again! read more

What fantastic home cooking! We found the Mustard Seed on Yelp as we were driving to the NC mountains. The reviews raved about the fried chicken and they were right! I'm a southern girl and have eaten a lot of fried chicken in my life and Vicky's is the best! The ribs were incredible, too!Loved the collards and sweet potato casserole. And let's not forget the delicious banana pudding and peach cobbler with homemade pastry crust. Incredible value. All you can eat - which can be dangerous! Excuse me, but I need to take a nap now! read more
