I have experienced years of back and neck pain, and Tania Burgos is by far the best myofascial massage therapist I have experienced. From her calming presence to her guided breath-work to her caring check-ins to the warm neck support pillow she provides, her thoughtfulness and attentiveness are unmatched. It's evident she cares about "the whole person." I experienced each movement as intentional, deliberate, and restorative. And somehow even with a massage lasting 90 minutes, her energy is sustained such that the last touch feels just as relieving as the first. I've never had a massage before but after being told I need one by my chiropractor, I looked around and found this place! Not going to lie, the outside is a bit weird as you have to ring a doorbell and then walk up some steps. BUT...once inside, it is a little heavily oasis full of all the aromas and vibes of a calm-me-down. My massage therapist brought me back and I told him why I was there and that I hadn't had a massage before. I also disclosed I really don't like being touched and am nervous about this. He was respectful and kind and honored my privacy as I got ready. First, I love how this location is the perfect quiet neighborhood but near so many great shops and Eastern Market. I love being able to patronize my local businesses. It is extremely private inside, peaceful, and always smells great. They offer complimentary beverages before or after any service you receive. I usually get a Swedish massage. I've had the service done by two different masseuse, one man and woman. Both treated me with so much care but were firm with their hands. Solid massage! I'll be back! We did a couples massage (kinda funny they confused our names but that's not a big deal haha). Therapists did a great job on both of us. No complaints on the service at all - just wish there were some amenities in the space - like hanging out in a relaxation space after the massage while you drink water (there is a salt room but that's an extra service) or a sauna for beforehand or something (that would make is an easy 5 stars for me)! I've never had a massage that was so terrible. His motions were jerky, rushed and rough, he had a scratch on his hand that was scratching against me. I did my best to give him the benefit of the doubt, waiting for any type of technique but it was just terrible. Every time I did start to relax, a commercial would come on completely disrupting the mood and he said "Alexa, play relaxing spa music" at least 3 times. Maybe a playlist...? I came here on a recommendation. A quick yelp search, and I saw five stars and I felt like "wow great" got cupping and a "massage" it was the worst cupping I've ever had. Cupping is one of those things if you do it regularly, you know exactly how/ what it's supposed to do. The therapist fumbled their way through the cupping there was no real deep tissue massage afterwards. literally midway through the cupping i started to think. I had an excellent massage from Xavier. I didn't know this place existed, but I was wandering around Union Station, killing time, when I stumbled upon it, and I was in desperate need of one. I always have an intense knot on my right shoulder blade, and Xavier worked it really well, and I feel so much better now. He's not at this location all the time, but if he is, I highly recommend. The other masseuse, Yan, was super friendly. It looks like a mall massage shop, so I was a bit surprised at the prices (but then I figured there was a Union Station upcharge), but further research shows Mustard Seed has a full service establishment downtown, and I'd like to visit that location as well, especially since they offer reiki. I was bit thrown by the name, since it's also the name of a local consignment shop. But Mustard Seed is definitely worth it, and I look forward to returning. read more

I've had a lot of massages, at very expensive upscale spas and no-frills hole-in-the-wall Chinatown places. This place is among the best of them. It's definitely no-frills, and I usually go for the 20- or 30-minute chair massage. Xavier, whom I've gone to for nearly four years, is simply amazing. He uses the perfect pressure, immediately finds all my problem areas, then uses not just his hands but his arms and elbows to smooth and knead until the knots are gone. Yes, it's weird to get a massage in a train station. But Xavier makes up for it. I always make massage therapists work hard (I have deep knots in my back that are hard to work out) and most of them just do a so-so job. This time I also had a weird pain in my collarbone area - I was actually thinking about seeing a physical therapist about it. Xavier worked out the knots and the collarbone thing is much better! He's also the perfect combination of fun to talk to and quiet when you want to just chill - he follows your lead. The salon itself isn't really a salon - more like a storefront. It's surprisingly quiet given its in Union Station - being on the 3rd floor means there aren't a lot of people walking by and making noise. Because of the setup, you can get chair massages or table massages (clothed). The online scheduling is also really nice. I highly recommend this place. Just don't take up all of Xavier's spots so it's hard for me to get one ;) read more
