Do not stop here if you're looking for a "quick bite to eat." I think the Keystone Cops could do a better job of running a bar/restaurant! We arrived about 1:15 on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Staff seemed kind of harried, but we were seating on a pleasant, shaded deck outdoors. Someone took our drink orders (along with 2-3 other tables) and seemed to hand them off to another server. We waited, and waited...about 10 minutes later our drinks showed up. Then we placed our lunch order and overheard the server explaining to another table that there were two parties on the back deck totaling 23 people!!! Luckily, we weren't in a hurry, but we waited, waited and waited some more (did I mention we WAITED?), and about an HOUR later our patty melt was delivered. It was a disappointment: thin patty, dry and overcooked, served between two pieces of toasted WHITE bread with a thin schmear of dressing and cheese. We upgraded to onion rings as a side, and the dish came with 5 onion rings that were lukewarm. I'm giving this place a couple of stars because, guess what? The service improved after the 23 people on the back deck left! Check was delivered and our card was dealt with quickly. We ordered a piece of carrot cake to go, and it was awesome. The reviewers on here are right; the "slice" of carrot cake can feed a family. (Although we wondered why the three teenage boys from the back deck went to get ice cream from the convenience store next door.) If you are going to run a grill properly, 1) instruct the staff that "it might be a wait", 2) comp the meal (or at least a second drink) if it takes more than a half hour to deliver food, 3) serve decent food! And probably most important, recognize that patrons are waiting...waiting...WAITING! Don't ignore the fact that you are having trouble serving people. We'll never be back. read more

Food was meh and service was horrible. My food was delivered by someone other than our server. I was done with my dinner before we even saw another server. We had to get another server to ask about my husbands burger. It was plain and no ketchup on the table for fries. Goodness had to ask for ketchup and waited til he was half done with his burger before that showed up. Finally, when we saw our waitress asked for water- she acted like it was inconvenience. The table next to us had an employee who was off for the night. She saw our glasses empty and got a pitcher to fill them. My husband asked for a manager and the woman not working got our bill and we paid with her. Very great experience, on our way to grand canyon stopped in a random restaurant and was very pleased. The pretzel appetizer was delicious and big enough to share, had beer cheese with it. We also got cheese curds which were okay nothing crazy. The French dip was very good with a nice tender meat. The Caesar salad was decent. Lastly the donut hole dessert was very tasty. Disappointing. Something has clearly changed in the last couple of months with the kitchen staff. Our burger from last night couldn't be eaten. The first bite had a bitter flavor to it. I had to spit out and was unable to eat the rest of it. The previous week I had the top sirloin steak. It passed its shelflife and had a vinegar taste to it. Well....I really wanted to love this place as the choices in our neighborhood are few and far between. We rode our bikes, which was cool and there's an awesome dog friendly patio. The place is clean and has a rustic charm. The vibe is great. The place is cute! The staff were friendly. There's a full bar and the pours were relatively generous. But...the food left something to be desired. As someone who doesn't eat beef or pork, there were only a couple of choices, not counting salads. No fish, we were hoping for Salmon. There was a chicken sandwich and one chicken entree called Caprese chicken that comes with vegetables and a baked potato. The chicken breast was the smallest one I've ever seen and severely overcooked- tough. It was topped with 2 thin slices of tomato and some Mozzarella cheese. No sign of any balsamic. The chicken was hard to cut let alone chew. Very disappointing to say the least. The vegetables turned out to be some sautéed cabbage. Way overpriced for what was served. My husband had a pizza with chicken. There were 4 or 5 tiny pieces of chicken on the whole pizza and musta been half of the other half of the chicken breast I had because the pieces were small, tough and hard to chew. The pizzas are tiny and my husband inhaled the entire thing and was still hungry when we left. Forget about any leftovers. All-in-all, we agreed we'd love to love this place so we'll give Mustang Grill another try and maybe go with drinks and appetizers. This is exactly the type of place we wanted and need out here....just need to up their game on some of the food items. read more

I would say that this place is on the up and up. The In laws went here a month or so ago and told my wife and I their thoughts. So it was one of those let's try again mentalities. We walked in and the place has a very cabin ish feel to it. There is a fire place in the middle with hardwood floors and the bar has some TVs up for sports. The greeters were friendly and welcoming. The service was good. Our waitress check on us pretty often and made sure we had drinks and water. I was bummed when I ordered an old fashion and asked specifically about the ice they use. I was told they have the big single cubes, but they dont. My drink was then sitting at the bar and the bartender eventually brought it over. The food was good. My wife got a NY strip and asked for rare. It came out rare some blue. It was pretty good. I got the mixed bbq plate and it was also not bad. I wish there was a little more food. My mother in law got some chicken tacos that she also enjoyed and said the flavor was good. My father in law ordered full rack of ribs and that definitely came with a big portion. The ribs there tastey and pretty tender. My brisket was flavorful and not dry. I'd say we all were satisfied with the food. My recommendation is to add mac n cheese to the sides list. Yall sell a brisket mac n cheese, but will not allow me to have a side of regular mac and cheese. The salad bowls that are used would be the perfect portion control for the mac n cheese side. I really was hoping the try the mac n cheese, but I did not want to order a full plate price, nor have that much of it. Also get some "old fashion" ice cube molds. They make a huge difference with the drink when you have one giant cube or ball of ice compared to chipped iced. We shall return and support the local area. I will start by saying, I was there on day one. Boy, that was a fun evening. The panic in everyone's face as it was now go time! On day one, I was hopeful they could turn some things around and they have done better since. I have been back several times as this is a great local spot to grab some food when you do not want to make something yourself or if you need a break from the campfire cooking. Best food in Parks! I have seen some inconsistency since opening in both the menu and the finished food(sometimes it is better than others). The drinks have always been good (Old and New Fashioneds) with the exception of a little stale wine my wife got one time. However, it is getting better and with any new business, there will be some kinks to iron out and they seem to be putting in the effort and I have seen improvement. I think the decor works with the area and the overall theme and the staff has always been friendly with us. Being a local, I have no problem recommending this establishment to people when they are in the area. Especially to the vacationers next door. Thank you for bringing back that business! Basically this place has a lot of kinks to work out. Chips were stale, queso was Mediocre. "Shredded chicken" tacos were just cut up chicken not shredded and that was second choice because they were all out of Al pastor. Also the tortillas were so dry it made it almost impossible to actually eat the taco. Alcoholic beverage was small and over priced but it was good. Brisket Mac n cheese was good but not enough meat. Everyone here is super nice, especially Carol!! Our Airbnb host recommended this restaurant and they really did have the best burgers and fries. We also had some doughnuts that look like beignets (powdered) and hot chocolate that were good. We ordered the brisket plates, four tiny pieces of dried out jerky in each one (see pics, and how thin yet dried out the meat is; so it does not hang, droop, nor even bow), the "loaded" potatoes only have some cheese thrown on top, they are not loaded with anything. We stopped by to check out this new place in Parks recommended by our very close friends, it didn't disappoint. The decor was a very nice laid back, rustic country feel with an open concept. has seating inside and outside, a nice bar area, the staff were very friendly from the time you enter until you leave. Our server Barbara was super friendly and attentive, we look forward to getting her again on our next visit. Food: wow... we had the appetizers of the burnt Tri-tips platter, then our main meals arrived; Mixed BBQ platter, French onion soup, Prime Rib-Dip and the Mustang Burger. ALL were amazing! Stopped for lunch on our way back from the Grand Canyon to Sedona. What a wonderful surprise. From the time we walked on we were greeted with the friendliest staff. So much variety of pizza but we went with an old standby, supreme pizza. The owner came out and we swapped pizza dough recipes. I will definitely try his version. Pizza crust was fabulous, crispy and chewy. We had a fabulous Italian dessert, Zeppole. Brought back memories of how my Nonna made it. Can't say enough good things about this place. Easy to get to from the road with two huge driveways and plenty of parkling. The first thing we saw when driving up to the restaurant was "Welcome Hunters" since we are in high country (over 7000 ft), and it's deer/elk season at the moment. Since I really don't like giving a poor review....I will just say we (my friend and I) ordered the full rack of ribs dinner, and we had to send the first order back only to receive another order with the same problems. The burger was well seasoned and tasted great, the bun could use some work but enjoyed it! The cheese curds were just okay. The waitress was friendly and although having a tough day that we all have she was still trying hard to give us a good experience. Adult drinks were okay, but nothing to write home about. The GM & one of his staff members was absolutely AMAZING. They went above and beyond, without any hesitation. We are here for a work trip, rented a VBRO our car got stuck. We called the restaurant to see if they delivered as we still needed dinner. They told us unfortunately they do not deliver. 5 minutes later the GM gave us a call and said he would deliver our dinner no problem !! He absolutely saved us from starving for the night !!
