Everyone I spoke to was really nice, and I was able to get my flute serviced quickly. The instrument repair person is there on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They did a pretty good job, but definitely didn't polish my flute, which I was kind of disappointed about, especially since I asked it to be thoroughly cleaned (this was also indicated on my service ticket they typed up). I was able to polish it myself after I got it back with a silver polishing cloth that I had to purchase. They have a huge variety of instruments, accessories, and books! It does seem to be more catered to guitars/percussion, but they still had a decent selection for woodwinds and brass. They also have tons of teachers that do private lessons. I will definitely be returning if I need anymore repairs done, as they did a nice job with those!

While I was in town visiting my son, he mentioned that there was a music store not far from us that he'd like to visit. I wasn't prepared for the size of this place-it's far more than just a "music store." He had a gleeful look of awe as he admired the selection of brass instruments and was able to play a few of them too. He'll be ready to make a purchase soon, so he wants to know for sure which one is just right. If you don't quite know what you're looking for, or need some elevated service, you might find someone, you might not. It's a more laid-back approach to customer service-we had to seek someone out for help. But I suppose I prefer that over an in-your-face sales person trying to close a deal.

If you rent a violin it comes with rosin, shoulder rest and a shoulder strap to carry the violin case. If you know you want to have an instrument for years then buying it is the best option but if you're not sure then renting is the way to go, as well as rent to own. Their lobby area has a couch and a couple chairs. It can feel a bit cozy when there are many people. It seems like a popular place towards closing time on Saturday. Staff were friendly.

The price is very reasonable and they have two options where you can just rent or pay the portion of rental towards purchase. The customer service is really good and they measure the size in house for which an appointment can be made online. The instruments are of very good quality, we really enjoyed looking at all displays.

I just left the Bookman's Store on Country Club and Southern, and I was abused and disrespected by…read moreone of their staff members. I was shopping, and waiting for my trade offer for some items I brought in. I asked to look at a Collector Comic Book that was locked in a case. I asked the staff member if I could take the book out and look a it because I wanted to make sure nothing was cut out of the comic. He immediately became defensive, and his attitude became hostile. I said "if there is anything cut out it's not worth $25 and I want to check. If I damage it while looking at it, I'll pay for it." His response wasn't helpful or understanding, it was pushy and abusive. "You should just get these while you see them. No one has these, and I've never seen one in our store since I've been here". I said "I have been collecting comics all of my life, and if there is anything cut out, it's not worth $10 to me". Again, instead of being friendly and asking anything helpful or asking questions, he was pushy and forceful, and became even more irritated when I pointed out the water damage on the back of the comic and told him I didn't want it. He was very unfriendly from the start. A toxic person, to be as kind as I can be. I received notice that my trade offer was ready, but I cancelled my trade offer, and walked out of the store with the items I had brought to trade. I WILL NEVER RETURN AS LONG AS THAT PERSON WORKS THERE. When I advised the staff of what happened, they seemed disinterested in doing anything. I asked them "how can you allow a person who treats customer this was to work here, and why would you want to work here if the business allows this?" They all looked at me with blank stares on their faces. A manager did talk to me, but it was the same attitude as the rude employee. He didn't introduce himself my name. He didn't try to find out the name of the employee. His attitude, like the rude staff member, was an attitude of not wanting to be there, an attitude of feeling irritated that they have to actually talk to a customer and assist them, an attitude of superiority and entitlement, an attitude that their customers do not matter to them and that they don't respect people in general. I advised their manager on duty that I work as a customer service consultant, and the employees treatment was unacceptable. He did offer complimentary credit, but did not indicate how much. I declined and told them honestly "I don't care if you pay me a Billion dollars in cash, I don't want it if that person works here. What he did was unacceptable and he should be fired". I am sure they won't do anything, and I want everyone to know that Bookman's is a TOXIC company who does not appreciate their customers, and they will screw you over and abuse you if you go there.

James is the manager at Hampton..ultra controlling insecure rude n pushy..talked a whole bunch if…read moretrash about previous employees who worked there..great loyalty there James contacted DM...she was nice enough to refund some money..but defends n approves of this bozos behavior ..I've spent plenty of money on instruments n instruction and this DM..Stephanie...I think it is ..us ok with this overgrown juveniles behavior..and the nerve..all I asked was an apology and she wouldn't issue one..and they still send me coupons n texts for advertising..go fly a kite and send Jimmy back to the used car lot....awful experience..stay away from that store..I will tell everyone I know in the mysic community about this debacle until I get a response...still waiting

Love this place - the work they did on my Bass was nothing short of a miracle…read more The owner is kinda sorta weird in an eccentric way and his wife gets nervous when entering the shop but the work they do rebuilding wood instruments is top notch. I personally know musicians in other states a that will ship their prized possession here just to get it repaired and tuned. Don't expect immediate turn around; good work takes time but the rewards of getting it done right the first time will pay dividends for years to come.
