Zachariah B.

A little rough park but good enough for a few hours when the weather is good. No fees to get in. Plenty of bike trails to ride. The campsites are basic sites.

Don't get a ticket...Leave the booze at home.

I was super impressed with this park! There's a gate to the entrance, which is open as of right now…read more8-8pm(sunset). After the gate is closed if you need to be let out, you have to call the police. But there's so much to do here! Not just the swimming area! There's a hiking trail, playground and walking trails. Beautiful views and plenty of space to social distance yourself. The trails are available for no fee as far as I could tell, but the swimming area near WhoaZone is $5. They do not take cash, only debit/credit card. The swimming area has a playground and picnic areas. I think there's a spot to cast your kayaks off over there too, but I stayed near the beach and didn't explore anything else. I saw vehicles with kayaks going over on the other side. If you have water shoes, I'd say bring them and a beach umbrella as there's no shade. The sand isn't too uncomfortable to lie in, there's just cigarette butts here and there. But I definitely recommend visiting for the day or even camping if you're into it!

Someone recommended this to me as a "sandy beach". It is a beach, and there is some sand, but the…read moreshore is probably a 50/50 mix of packed dirt and sharp pebbles. OUCH! The rock bottom extends out a couple of yards into the water, where it turns to clay. For swimmers, the rockiness is less of an issue - get past the rocks and swim/float your heart out, but the rocks along the shore make it significantly less enjoyable for babies. Running along the shore and splashing in the shallow water is painful without water shoes. For a true SANDY BEACH, check out Twin Points Park at Eagle Mountain Lake or Little Elm on Lake Lewisville instead. Twin Points is nicer, if you're deciding between the two. Pros: it's a pretty spot, with nice views. Plenty of parking - $5 per car. CREDIT/DEBIT ONLY. There is a dock for jumping off (which we didn't notice until we were leaving, sadly!). Not very crowded on a Saturday in August. Pretty clean, other than the bathrooms. Alcohol permitted (or if not permitted, certainly not regulated). Days swimming at the lake are SO MUCH FUN! Aside from the rocky shore, the only big negative was how gross the bathrooms were. We were there pretty early, so clearly they aren't cleaned daily. Also, the whoa zone is SO EXPENSIVE!!!! It looks fun but I cannot wrap my head around the fact that people pay that much to be there. It's $22 a person for ONE HOUR! Mon-Thurs they also offer a $50 all day pass. For our family of 7, I consider that cost prohibitive. Overall, it was a fun day at the lake, but Meadowmere Park is just not the best DFW has to offer.

Our experience with the site and staff caused us to cut our stay very short. We arrived at our site…read more#165 and tried to squeeze into the space. It was a pull-through, but we couldn't because a wood pallet and a piece of plywood was blocking the end. We looked for the hook-ups and couldn't find water and sewer, so we called the office. They sent someone out, and he found the hook-ups under the neighbor's deck. The site was covered in dried dog feces that we had to walk on to get to the electric outlet. He also said that he didn't think we could extend our slides, so we had to move. The only site that was available was a back in at the rear of the park between two permanent residents. It was Friday night and we had nowhere to go, so we took it. I contacted Sun Outdoors to let them know of the conditions. The RV community manager for the company got back in touch and seemed to actually care. Kudos to Ashby! She tried to keep in touch and make things right. On Monday morning we received a call from the front office saying that we need to clean our site due to dog feces. She claimed that a cleaning crew couldn't get around the site because of it. I went out to walk around the site and found nothing. I called her back to see if she had the wrong site and she stuck with her accusation. I let her know that we would be leaving the next day (5th) when we were supposed to stay through the 16th. Again I reached out to Ashby to let her know of the situation and she agreed to cancel and refund the remainder of our reservation. We were so relieved to get away from there. I have shared facts in this review based on our experience.

I was quoted one price then charged a different higher price, lots are very small, no picnic table,…read moreno fire pit, no grass, just gravel and the door opens just a few feet from the neighbors spot. I never opened my awning or unpacked a lawn chair for the 8 nights because it was so small. This is not an RV park, it is a mobile home park with 95% permanent residents. I would not bring a family with children to this park. The residents trash the restrooms / showers early daily, and the service staff cleans them, just hope that you don't need to use them before they are cleaned. Some of the restrooms / showers have one small hook for a towel others have none. There should be several hooks for a towel, your bag / backpack, clothing, and no table or shelf to place your toiletries. Must use the back of the toilet, only flat surface, otherwise place your items on the wet floor. No office staff after 5 pm or on weekends. Stay away from this place unless you like ghetto style trailer park living.

A good 5 starts well deserved! It's unfortunate to see previous reviews but I can start by saying…read morethat this place has new owners and the girls at the front desk are the sweetest southern women in Texas! (Judy, Robin and Betty) We stayed for 4 months and we're on the waiting list for about a month. But we knew this was the location we wanted to stay at so we waited. This place is safe, the neighbors were very welcoming and we had no issues during our stay. In fact we had a family emergency and trusted the people here so much that we gave the front desk keys to our place just in case there was an emergency when we were gone. The front desk gals are amazing like stated above, the maintenance guys are fast and attentive (also will be the first people to greet you) and Chris takes so much pride in maintaining the parks garden. We had a premium spot (43 foot trailer and 2 vehicles, with two dogs) we didn't have grass on our spot but that was ok! There is 2 VERY large areas to walk your dogs in. & If we wanted to move to a different spot we could have but we really enjoyed our neighbors so we didn't move. There is grass all around the park in addition to the large area and lots of poo stations set up conveniently around. Also really appreciated the propane refill on sight. Not to many places open on the weekend for a refill... That being said, we highly recommend this park! Everyone was very respectable and enjoyable.

We went for a baseball World Series and I have actually been to these fields before, just never did…read morea review. The fields are great! One of the best baseball fields to play at in my opinion out of several other locations we've been to. Covered bleacher seating for guests and room for your own chairs if you choose to sit closer to the baseline areas on each side (home and visitor). Clean bathrooms and just overall, the park areas are well kept. Amazing playground for kids/players to hang out. Fields are labeled to find easier. Amazing concession with fresh grilled food you can order (burgers, sausage on a stick, etc). We also had the opportunity to visit and play at the Softball Complex fields. Very nice fields and a batting cage area before the main entrance (on the small parking lot side). At these fields the sun comes in way more even with some of the covered bleacher seating (Bring your portable fans, stadium chairs for convenience, small cooler, etc.). Not as much room for your own chairs at these fields like the other baseball fields. Some of our team parents sat behind the last row of bleachers, near the trash cans so it was kinda tight. Plus when people walk back and forth it can get more crowded. There are also small areas with turf next to the bleachers that is good for bringing blankets to sit/lay (good area for smaller kids, teens and even adults if you like the picnic style type of seating/vibe.
