Okra soup w/ goat meat spicy, pounded yam

As soon as you walked in the door, the music is so infectious. They have a backdrop where you can take a photo for your IG. They have a pool tables, ping pong tables, as well as the stage and Dance-floor(where you will find me). They have a event space, a full bar and outdoor patio. Whether you want a catfish basket, jollof Rice or (jerk or curry)chicken the food is extraordinary. With $1 wings, $3.25 wells, $3 drink specials and happy hour from 5pm-8pm everyday why not try it out? It's does take some time for your food because everything you order is made fresh but trust me when I tell you it worth the wait. If you're like me, with cravings around midnight, they stay open till 2 AM for the late night foodie.

RUDE RUDE RUDE! The chicken Suya I got was old and tasted like rotisserie chicken from Walmart that got recooked, ended up getting food poisoning. Called them to let them know, and this lady hung up right on me. I'm at the ER because I started throwing up and feel so sick, stomach turning upside down. Be careful of what you get on here, it's not that sanitary and the meat is probably stored for the next day. Place seems so dark with no good lighting.

I came here because my friends and I wanted Caribbean food. I was out voted in terms of where to go that's why we ended up coming here. I got oxtail with the rice and beans and plantain. The oxtail was salty and the flavor was not pleasing. It was actually gross. The cabbage was overcooked. The waitress was writing our orders down but messed up our orders and completely forgot one of the girls order. It was very apparent that she only cared about the older men coming in there because that's who she made sure she took care of. I knew better than to come here but since I was outvoted here we are. I hope their Nigerian food is better. Don't even waste your time on the Caribbean food. The margarita is not frozen

The only reason they got 4 stars is because they are always out of Mac N cheese other than that I love their food. The Mac is somewhat my favorite because it's just different. They fry their plantains beautifully caramelized buttery and sweet. The black beans and rice are so flavorful and the jerk chicken (yummy) taste so authentic, moist and tender. I will also like to point out that after hours is a lounge and the music selection is groovy and upbeat. I really like this place

First of all, CLAP CLAP CLAP for the staff that were at the door checking for masks and taking temperatures before patrons enter. First time ever seeing a restaurant do this and making sure social distancing is enforced. CDC guidelines in full affect!!!! As a visitor from out of town this was great to see. This restaurant is in a plaza so there's free parking, it looks small from outside but the indoor is so big. Downside is that it's not well lit in the dining/bar area, I literally had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu. There's west/East African, Caribbean & American food on the menu. We were seated by a waitress that seemed tired and didn't want to be bothered. She brought the menus and left. Didn't even ask us if we wanted anything to drink or if she should bring us water. She was gone for quite some time. When she came back she didn't even apologize and proceeded as if nothing was wrong. While she was taking our orders she would look away at times like she's in a hurry or something. Never told us her name and we didn't even bother to ask. There were four of us. Two ordered "Tilapia dinner with sides of rice/beans, plantain & cabbage and the other two ordered "Jerk chicken dinner with sides of fries, Mac n cheese, plantain and rice/beans". We ordered our drinks at the same time as well. Took about 20-30mins for our food to come. The music was playing a bit too loud and we had to talk loudly even though we were right next to each other. Felt like we were at the club. Besides eating in, there's also a game area, live band area and apparently before COVID it was considered a lounge/dancing spot. P.S. The restroom can use some renovation. Besides that I'd say that the food was okay and we got more than enough and it's reasonably priced. We definitely had leftovers to take back to our hotel.

I like the food a bit over priced but it was good. The only thing I didnt Like was we literally spent $140 on food not including the $30($10 per person)to enter and we wanted to go on the dance floor but we couldn't because if we left to put the leftover food in the car we would of had to pay to enter again. So we just sat at the table and listened to music.

Anyone who knows north Dallas, during rain, and rush hour, on Skillman....let's just say I was land locked and my food didn't stand a chance making it out of the parking lot From start to finish, Feme, made my first experience having authentic Liberian cuisine, and visiting this establishment, a shear joy. He was super helpful when placing my order and gave awesome suggestions of dishes to try, taking time to explain the ingredients and such. Upon arrival his shining personality wowed me again. My food was hot and ready for the taking, the place was sparkling clean and well decorated, as if a wedding reception or a party were about to take place. A bit much for regular Tuesday afternoon decor, but I don't mind a being a bit EXTRA every now and then! Like I said, my food didn't stand a chance! Someone, Kiss that chef because she is in that kitchen whipping up fire! I have tried palm butter soup at parties with my Ivorian friends but had been wanting to try the Liberian version, since seeing a dank recipe on YouTube a couple months back. Let's just say.... I had high flavor expectations! Well.... honey, Miss Chef in the back at little Monrovia Lounge blew my hopes, dreams, and TASTEBUDS out the water!!! The turkey and fish in the soup were both cooked to perfection, with fantastic balance of tenderness and firmness. When you get a good chew but you're not tiring your jaw or eating mush. The soup base itself, looked a bit oily, upon initial inspection, but as I began dipping that perfectly smooth fufu into the soup, sopping up all the juice, I quickly realized I was in heaven! Y'all, just try it!! And if your mouth ain't watering from this review, you're a hater

When we entered the place was completely dark because of the above so they turned the lights on and got us comfortable. Amazing customer service as well as history lesson at first. Followed by pretty great food, I got the rum punch on happy hour which I was excited to see hoping to return. When our bill came this wasn't reflected so I brought this up to the waiter, they denied that was the case (even though the menu said such.) Still they said they would take care of it (mind you there was another discrepancy for the stew price) and didn't do so & overcharged my card. Sad that such a gem had to be ruined by untrustworthiness.

Also I like to point out immediately we came in someone at the bar area attended to us and our orders. The restaurant is located in a busy shopping center. It's not too far from Hong Kong market if you're familiar with that area. Our first visit was during the weekday in the afternoon and the place was not packed. That's not where the differences stop as the Archive menu provides more traditional cocktails and a diverse array to choose from, with drinks you may be more familiar with. Alchemy on the other hand offers a more experimental approach to their drink menu, including creative cocktails that seem eclectic and never been tried before, using unusual ingredients or prepared in a unique way, but if you are feeling adventurous, I'd highly recommend trying the latter. Keep in mind, when entering Alchemy, the inside is very dark so if you want to see properly I would recommend sitting outside if it isn't too hot. To start, my friends and I ordered the truffle fries for the table and they were highly ranked in my opinion for best truffle fries in Dallas. They were perfectly crispy and flavored well with the truffle seasoning. For drinks, from the alchemy menu, we ordered the I Dream of Kiwi (my choice), Kaleidoscope Eyes, and Inappropriate Beet Pun. My drink was made up of bamboo tea gin, kiwi coconut water, plum wine, and kiwi boba. I liked the sweetness mixed with tartness and the boba balls added a nice touch. Additionally we ordered the pineapple soft serve margaritas (it was my first time experiencing soft serve margs) and I really enjoyed Apothecary's version. The pineapple flavor was tangy alongside the creaminess of the ice cream. And there was a nice chili salt garnish (similar to tajin) added on top. For food, I ordered the Lil' Thuggies, a hilarious name for a dish that is actually very delicious. It consisted of popcorn chicken nuggets, cooked in sweet tea brine and spiced flour, served with a side of epazote ranch and korean wing sauce respectively. My friends ordered the Japanese elotes and Muhammara (roasted red pepper & walnut spread, greek oil, sea salt, microgreens, grilled baguette). Both very tasty as well, with the elotes having a cream sauce on top. Overall I can't wait to go back to apothecary and maybe try the other side next time.
