DONT MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH THE REGULARS! You have been forewarned! Ummmm...shady & stanky don't begin to adequately describe this dive. I walked in around 10 p.m. & saw a few folks who all appeared to be regulars who probably started drinking at 5 p.m., right after work, but at 10:30 weren't ready to leave. I saw many people stumbling & heard lots of slurred speech. One lady literally stumbled backwards against my friend and just leaned on him before she walked out of the bar...Another weird occurrence - there was a small white dog that ended up having her own seat on a bar stool. She was the quietest & most well behaved patron at the bar. I wonder what her poison is. *raised eyebrow* I made a decent time of my visit by playing shuffleboard and having a Maker's Mark Manhattan straight up (which I had to instruct the bartender on how to make). tsk-tsk. I shall not return.

    #oldschool! Chips & salsa?!?! Naaaah!!!

After the show it's the after party!!!! Woop! Oh my goodness, we fell into King's X after one of our CMYE at Lalibela's next door and was immediately greeted with a "come on in" from everyone at the bar! This is definitely a hole-in-the wall dive where everyone that walks in...is officially family! They have plenty of space to have a seat and grab a couple of drinks at the bar with three TV's as well (thanks for playing the Spurs game...WOOP). They also have a shuffle board, slot machines, pool tables and a juke box!!! Love it!! We settled down at a small table by the bar and just took in the atmosphere of the place...and then our bartender brought over a bowl of chips for us....as we looked closer we noticed the goodies that were inside: bugles, fritos, nacho chips, potato chips and bbq chips. Don't judge me, but I couldn't stop munching on the bugles!!! LOL! I think I might've picked all of them out of the bowl...LOL! After the fellas had a few drinks (and shots thanks to Chester) we ended the night with laughs and a friendly goodbye from everyone there. I'm starting to realize, it's not where you go...it's who you're with and you can have a good time anywhere with the right people, so grab your friends and hit King's X!

It is the owners basement. This is where they hold private family events. So do not bother them.

JUST GO! ITS BUUUSSSSSIIINNNNGGG…read more Let's just jump right into this review Cus yall want to know what's really going on. I'ma start with the food. If you've been following my reviews you know it's me and my girlfriend against the world. We were craving seafood and was finally in Dallas so we decided to go to Juicy Seafood and ordered 2 Mason Jar Long Island Iced Teas and 2 of the Weekend Specials for $44.99/ea with added eggs to 1 of the bags with the Juicy Special sauce HOT (True to Spice). The other one we got Juicy Special MEDIUM (Little to no kick but flavor profile A1). SHOUTOUT to the bartender she was tending to that bar, do you read me?. She mixed TF out of that L.I.I.T cus it sure did have us LIT, and we only had to order 1!!!! (Do y'all understand how important that is now a days?). We had to tip her separately for the hospitality lol Weekend Special bags are sold only Friday-Sunday and it feeds 1 person. It comes with 1 Lobster Tail, 1/2 lb snow crab (1 cluster), 1/2 lb Shrimp (Head Off), 1 Corn and 2 Potatoes. As y'all know any add-ons have their own additional costs. I have to say the flavor of the sauce was so good, instantly relieved from having bad experience in Austin. Now, the most important part was the quality of the seafood. Comparable to other restaurants such as Surfing Crab in Austin, TX, the crabs were more fresh, not the freshest I've had ever but decent. The shrimp was cool too, disclaimer: they should do better deveining them. The lobster tail was cooked well and wasn't rubbery. The eggs were also boiled for a good amount of time and not old tasting. Our server was kind, friendly, and kept a smile on her face. Though, she wasn't very attentive to our table compared to others. I specifically pay attention to that because I come from a server/bartender background. NOW the ambience, it was a breath of fresh air coming from Pier 88 on Walnut St in Dallas. I felt it was cleaner, more spacious and on top of that the server didn't have an attitude. We went to Pier 88 the same day before finding Juicy Crab because we're used to the quality, service and ambience of Pier 88 in Arizona. But this one waitress disgusted me with her attitude to the point that I told my girl we weren't eating there. I ended up looking and finding Juicy Crab while sitting down in Pier 88. The best decision to make. P.S: NEVER EAT SOMEWHERE WITH BAD SERVICE THE FOOD WILL BE JUST AS BAD because they left a bad taste in your mouth, even if the food is usually good. My rating.... GO! You won't regret it. && Believe the hype.

From the moment we…read morewere seated, the service stood out, our server, Dalier was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely helpful when it came to menu recommendations, which made ordering effortless and enjoyable. She definitely contributed to making our experience more enjoyable. The presentation was impressive right down to the utensils, setting the tone for a quality seafood experience. At our table, one person enjoyed an alcoholic beverage while I opted for a Lemon Cooler-Mango, which was refreshing and well-balanced, clearly not an afterthought on the drink menu. We ordered the seafood boil for two, and it was more than generous, enough to enjoy fully and still take home leftovers. The boil itself was outstanding: perfectly cooked crab legs, corn, sausage, and eggs, all coated in a rich, flavorful sauce with just the right amount of spicy kick. Every bite was satisfying, bold, and well-seasoned without overpowering the seafood. The restaurant is spacious and welcoming, with a bar area that looks ideal for small parties or special occasions. Between the inviting ambiance, excellent food, and top-tier service, this location truly delivers on all fronts. If you're looking for a place that combines great atmosphere with consistently delicious seafood and attentive service, this Juicy Seafood location is it. Highly recommended--and I'll definitely be back.

Thanks to the reservation, we were seated right away and immediately greeted by our server, who was honestly amazing from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel effortless. We kicked things off with drinks. I started with an espresso martini, and it was really, really good--smooth, balanced, and exactly what I was hoping for. For my second drink, I tried the smoked Old Fashioned from their holiday menu. It was good, but I'll be honest, it was extremely strong. Like, really strong. In general, their drinks definitely pack a punch, so that's something to keep in mind when ordering. For my entrée, I ordered the Mediterranean smoked chicken salad, and wow. It was hands down one of the best salads I've ever had in my life. Everything was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and satisfying, and it didn't feel like a "boring" salad at all. It was so good that I already know I'll be coming back specifically for that dish, though I'm also curious to try more of the menu next time. Overall, this place absolutely lived up to the recommendation. Great service, strong drinks, and standout food. I'll definitely be back.

Thirsty Lion delivers a clean, spacious gastropub atmosphere that makes it a great spot to relax,…read moregrab a drink, and enjoy a solid meal. The layout feels open and comfortable, and the overall vibe is upbeat without being overwhelming. That said, service on arrival could use some attention. There was a noticeable gap at the host stand with several guests waiting and no staff in sight, which set a slightly off first impression. Once seated, though, the experience improved. Ally at the bar stood out right away. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming, she helped turn the visit around and made the experience feel more personal. She did come back to check in later, which was appreciated and helped round out the service. On the food and drink side, they carry Manhattan Project Beer Company's Half-Life, which is a big win and pairs exceptionally well with the French dip. The sandwich itself is flavorful and satisfying. The fries were a bit on the softer side, so if you prefer them crispy, I'd definitely recommend asking for them extra crispy when ordering. Overall, Thirsty Lion has a lot going for it. Great atmosphere, solid menu, and standout staff like Ally. With a little more consistency at the front of house, this place easily moves from good to great.

Amazing coffee spot in a cool Walnut Hill complex…read more I like the vibe here and their coffee is always on point. I've only been during the day and always spend a little time working before a coffee meeting. The WiFi is always good and the coffee is great. The ambiance is very open and inviting as well. They serve small bites as well but I haven't really partaken. Additionally, I think they have several beers on tap and they appear to all be cool local brews. If you're looking for a good local coffee shop with a vibe, this may be your new spot!!

This coffee shop has quietly become my Dallas work-week crush…read more It's conveniently close to the office I'm using while I'm here, but the real draw is the vibe. Beautiful sunshine pours through big windows, there's a lovely park right outside, and the light is so good it feels like the café equivalent of a good hair day. Dallas weather helps, obviously--but this place knows how to use it. The space is lively without being chaotic. Plenty of outdoor seating, lots of indoor seating, and a very reasonable three-hour Wi-Fi window that keeps people working instead of camping. It feels intentional. People come here to stay, not hover in line. Speaking of which--there's never a line. They're clearly well staffed, everyone's efficient, and everyone is genuinely nice. Now, pastries. This is where they shine. A lot of unique options you don't see everywhere, and everything I tried was excellent. The almond croissant? Fantastic. The blueberry cake? A must-get. I went two days in a row (because obviously), and on day one they told me it was their most popular item. Day two, by 11 a.m., it was completely gone and kept selling out as soon as they tried to restock. That alone tells you what you need to know. The matcha is good--made from scratch, which I appreciate. Is it the best matcha I've ever had? No. It's better than Local Johnny's, but not quite on the level of Marin Coffee Roasters or Ralph & Rose. Still very drinkable and enjoyable, especially if you're settling in to work. What really sets this place apart is its personality. It doesn't feel like a cookie-cutter café or "insert minimalist coffee brand here." There's charm. Character. A little whiteboard with a joke about New Year's resolutions that made me smile. Small details, but they matter. Would I come back? Absolutely. I already did--twice. I'd recommend it especially for locals looking for a solid work spot, co-working with a friend, or anyone who wants to be productive without being bothered. If you're visiting Dallas briefly, this might not be a destination café--but if you're here for a bit and want a reliable, pleasant, sunny place to work and snack, this one's a yes.
