I am truly amazed and so grateful for Don, Gabe, and the team at Crafty Canine Club. They have a ton of certified experience and have done fantastic behavioral modification work with my French Bulldog (and myself) in their board and train programs. I have learned to be a better leader for my dog and how to keep him mentally balanced so he's at his best. The structure of the training programs and regular boarding at CCC are solid and well planned so our furry family can learn and have fun in a safe environment while in the care of strong leadership. A bonus in my particular case; CCC techniques are aligned with what is recommended by my board certified vet behaviorist and was covered by my pet insurance. CCC communicates with me openly and regularly before, during, and after any bookings and will send photos and videos of the fun which helped ease my thoughts in the beginning. Now, I will only use CCC for care and follow up training for my boy. I believe they truly care about him and our relationship. A very small investment for huge lifelong returns you won't regret!

No need to asses our dogs until we are clear we want them to stay there, right? It's a "requirement" that we all know the boss can easily accomodate. Just sent another business to go to if I wanted a "phone consult" which was unusual(&manipulative :/) because we never discussed phone consults..all we wanted was to come take a peak at their facilities. Our pup gets waaaaay too excited even as we're driving up the street to drop off and he's always eager to get off the car and get to his puppy friends. It's a plus when Missy is there to welcome him! Missy is for sure one of his favorite people at Dogs Abound. Liz, Broke, Courtney and all of the Dogs Abound Team have been amazing with our pup and give this dog mum peace of mind that he's in great hands when I can't be with him. We began taking our puppy to Dogs Abound in April after a Zoom consultation with Courtney. I was a…read morelittle taken aback by Courtney who seemed a big standoff-ish during the chat but decided to give the place a shot... after all, I cared more about finding trainers who treated my puppy well more than treating me well. After the first visit, employee Matt said he wasn't sure if they could board our puppy until they knew he would do well with other dogs (totally understandable) but when I mentioned I wanted to do training sessions, he and Courtney got nice quickly and signed me up for everything! I really wanted my 4-month-old puppy to get out of his shell, gain confidence and make friends so I ended up paying for a 10-pack of training sessions. I also read the Yelp reviews here so decided it would work. The training sessions included a Zoom chat with the trainer, Vivien, after four classes. When it was time for our first Zoom chat, the trainer wasn't able to connect to a computer so she called me, which was understandable (happens to all of us, right?) I asked her if she could send me videos (since we didn't get a Zoom chat) of the lessons she was teaching my puppy so I could reinforce it at home and she agreed. A few days past and I didn't get anything so I texted her. I immediately received an email from Courtney telling me not to communicate to her trainer directly. Um ok? I told her Vivien told me she would send me videos because we didn't get our Zoom chat and asked how she would address the problem. Vivien ends up sending me a very lengthy email instead. Another four training sessions pass and we get another Zoom session with Vivien, which was actually helpful! I finally learned what my puppy was learning this whole time! After our final two training sessions, we get an email stating they will now charge $3 per day to feed your dog! WHAT? As though spending hundreds of dollars for training and care isn't enough, they want to profit off feeding your dog and charge more than the food itself? I immediately notified Dogs Abound I wouldn't be returning with my pup. After I canceled, my husband told me that one time when he picked up our dog, he heard one of the employees say to a dog "you little sh*t." Yup, you read that right. An employee called a dog "YOU LITTLE SH*T") I'm all about giving people the benefit of the doubt and like I said, I'd rather have them treat my puppy well than me. However, these greedy folks obviously lack any basic customer service skills. The terrible communication and more importantly, how they treat their clients (fur and human), shows they don't care. I'm also thrown off by the Yelp reviews. Maybe the employees have some hidden biases? We just transitioned to Dogtopia and we are SO MUCH HAPPIER at the level of communication, professionalism and honest love they show the dogs --which can be viewed via Webcam. (I once asked Courtney if she could send me a photo of my puppy and she said no). I suppose this is my lesson in giving people the benefit of the doubt! Not everyone deserves it! UPDATE: My husband saw the dog picked up by the owner after the employee called him a "little sh*t," but nice effort by the owner for trying to defend the verbal abuse of dogs. Good to know she isn't ashamed of acknowledging that she herself may verbally abuse her dogs from time to time.

We were recommended this place by another dog mom at the dog park who also went through the training and has a very well-behaved doggo. Our dogs - Gojo and Benji - came home more obedient, calm, and confident -- they now respond to commands, walk beautifully on leash, and no longer jump on people or fight with each other. The dog trainers at IQK9 in Valley Center are amazing -- you can tell they truly care about every dog and have years of professional dog training experience. The whole process was easy, clear, and very well-organized. They even trained us during pickup so we understood how to stay consistent at home. This made all the difference because it is so important for us to continue their training at home to instill everything they learned. Our dogs absolutely loved their trainers and were so happy the entire time. If you're looking for obedience training, leash training, or dog behavior correction in Valley Center or North County San Diego, we 10/10 recommend this place!

After their board and train, we picked up 2 dogs who could walk past other dogs without reacting, obey commands, and were overall in a more relaxed state of mind. IQ K9 has provided continuous training in our home and out in the real world. It's not just the training of dogs that they do well, but the training of owners and handlers. We have learned so much and our relationship with our dogs has done a complete 180. We are so grateful to Stani and her team and cannot recommend them enough.

She called me after two hours to let me know he was ready and complained that he "hasn't learned to stop barking". Anyone with any dog knowledge knows that puppies bark when they are under stress. During the phone conversation, we had a minute with a bad connection and I told her that I missed some of what she had just said because the phone had cut out. She rudely commented, "no, that was your dog barking." She proceeded to REPEATEDLY yell, "Stop that!" at my pup, while calling him by name...while I was LISTENING on the phone. Anyone with any dog knowledge knows that when a dog is stressed out and barking, the last thing that you want to do is yell at them. It only increases stress and therefore increases their barking. I immediately drove to pick up my puppy. When I got there, the lady at the desk told me the price, which was five dollars more than what we had agreed upon. I told her that the amount was $45 last month for the same service. She asked the owner, who rudely replied, "Well, it's $50 today". When I asked what the difference was, she told me that my puppy hadn't stopped barking & he had thrown up and she had to clean it up & do more brushing. I told her that I imagine he threw up because he was stressed and that I heard her yelling at him while I was on the phone, so I could only imagine how she treated him when I wasn't on the phone. She looked right at me & denied yelling at him. (I know what I heard) I would never take an animal to this woman again. Oh...and guess who hasn't barked ONCE since we picked him up?

I'm so lucky to have found Total K9 Training to work with my family!…read more My husband and I have 2 dogs that we absolutely love. We have 2 little terrier mixes, Chester and Bella, and they are both great with us at home, but were a little harder to handle with walks, strangers and distractions. We knew we needed some help to work with our dogs. On top of all this, my husband and I found out we were expecting a baby earlier this year and so we also wanted to find a dog trainer that worked with expectant families and transitioning an adult and dog only environment to include a little one. By recommendation of my Vet's office we were recommended to Shannon with Total K9 and am very pleased we choose to go with her. Shannon is amazing to work with. She's professional, extremely knowledgeable, flexible to work with, supportive and genuinely cares about our relationships with our pets. Knowing that we had 2 dogs and a baby on the way, we wanted to personalize our training. After several calls and emails about our situation with Shannon, we decided to go with the 6 Private Lessons. Even from our very first class, there's such a difference with our dogs and now we're starting to bring our dogs to the group obedience classes and you can see how well Shannon's been able to work with all the dogs there. She really tries to set you up for success with her training and knows how to read animals and gives us humans the right skills to be able to have a great relationship with our pets that can be achieved only by great training. With our baby now here, we're implementing all the training that we've learned with our dogs and are very pleased with how things are going. If your looking for someone to help better the lives and relationship with your dog through training I highly recommend working with Shannon and Total K9 Training.

Alec is an amazing pet professional!!! We have been using his services for 6 months now, and we are…read moreso thankful for his kindness, professionalism, and hard work he consistently puts forth. We have 3 very energetic , eccentric dogs, and they are " breed difficult". Alec has not only walked and worn these guys out on a regular basis, he has thrown his heart and soul into basic behavior training with our rebels. Our puppy gang consists of 2 miniature Daschunds and a rescue Basset Hound. These dogs are notoriously difficult to teach anything because they have deep rooted hunting skills that crush anything else- but Alec has them completely leash trained and has decreased the bigger hounds dog reactivity by 50%- even a dog trainer had given up on the big guy. He is also VERY communicative. After each walk I get a snap shot of the walking path and distance, atleast 3 videos of my dogs doing some very funny things, and photos that I can never get them to pose for. Alec also sends a full written report of their potty habits, their mood, and everything they did. My husband and I run a business, and I work 3 16 hour days. Thanks to Alec and his service, our dogs remain happy and healthy . He is very upfront and reasonable with pricing. He also as flexible as he can be with scheduling and has gone out of his way to accommodate us on a few last minute walks. We can't recommend him enough!
