    Irish in Mexico
    Pranamee S.

Lesson learnt - Do not go to an Irish Pub in Mexico! Or may be, if you do don't expect them to have a Jameson and Ginger Ale or May be don't expect them to have 'Irish' live music... This became our funniest memory of a bar because everything was non-Irish except the loud green color everywhere.

Four stars for the view alone!!! Came in to have a beer- sadly they were out of the two I wanted but Halloween was last night and it was crazy. The staff was great. Irish music was playing- live bands at night. Food looked to be a fair price on the menu. I'd certainly give it a shot at night too.

We visited this pub in 2016. My husband comes from a long line of Irish family so when we stumbled upon this bar we had to go in. We ended up staying for a few hours and had a wonderful time. Fast forward to a few weeks ago (2019) when we were in Puerta Vallarta again. We had to visit Murphy's! And we got so lucky the owner was there! What a kind man and he was so welcoming and I enjoyed his stories of how he decided to move and open this bar. Drinks... all tasty but If you like an Irish Car Bomb get a Mexican Car Bomb. The view is amazing sip your beer or cocktail looking at the beautiful ocean. Truly a magical spot. There will never be a time we visit Puerta Vallarta and not visit Murphy's Irish Pub.

Every time I come to Puerto Vallarta I have to stop in here. It has the best views and service in town. After a few drinks there are all the stores you need to shop nearby. My absolute favorite Irish pub

    Cheers!

We didn't eat here, but the staff is super friendly and helpful. We were on our way to the bar upstairs, but they talked is into coming in here. We tried the local red ale- El Terrible. Not bad :) It's humid as hell in Puerto Vallarta and we are Californians. The waiter put a huge fan on us. Very nice!

Enjoyed hanging out here during St Patty's day. Awesome vibe, good music, and a never-ending flow of proper Guinness! Sit close to the balcony and enjoy the view. MUST DO while in PV

Can't beat the view at murphy's and great food

After looking up good places to go, Bar La Playa came up- and I'm sure glad it did! First, it's easy to get to if you're coming from North. Our Uber was easily able to drop us off without getting stuck in gridlock traffic that can affect certain roads of this area. Additionally, the location isn't a high-traffic area for tourists. That meant we were able to walk up and immediately find seats. Second, the service was top notch. I didn't get the bartenders name, but he was very welcoming, friendly, hospitable and spoke English. Just an overall cool dude and was glad to support his business. Third, the drinks were great. Finally, we were drinking 'real' drinks, not the watered down sugary stuff at the hotel. We were very satisfied with the taste of the drinks. Fourth, the prices are really good. Mexico has gotten expensive and this was a sigh of relief. You can have a great time here without feeling like you paid an arm and a leg. I highly-highly recommend making Bar La Playa your first stop when coming to this area. You're going to get great service, great drinks and all at a price that is reasonable and fair.

They use tanqueray as their house gin which is unusual but a pleasant surprise as it actually happens to be my preferred brand. I didn't have high hopes for the martini - I find that outside of major U.S. cities places end up putting in way too much vermouth - and it actually ended up being fantastic. It didn't taste too different from what I would make at home which is probably the best thing I could say about a martini (for my own personal taste). I tried a fruitier one - the Gigi - as my second and final drink. It was good but I'm just not a fruity drink person. I just wasn't equipped to handle another standard martini lol. The ambiance is phenomenal - it was both casual and comfortable yet classy. The crowd was much older than I expected although not in a bad way at all. There were lots of expats in their 50s and 60s. I was worried it would be a rowdy rooftop and by contrast it was actually a very chill vibe. Only complaint is that the bathroom is outside of the venue down the stairs and you need a key to enter, which was a bit annoying bc I wanted to use the restroom before I left and I forgot to ask for the key on my way out. Small annoyance and certainly wouldn't prevent me from going back.

They were pretty nice to us, just a touch rude to another group of patrons from what I saw while we were here - at least at the door. The bartenders are fun. The music is epic. High energy. Outside patio area is gorgeous. We didn't stay here long at all. We just didn't vibe with this hot spot as much as other places, but still a great place. And overall (at least in my opinion) it's not AS feel good as neighboring LGBTQ+ spots in PV. That said they have some great events, beautiful dancers and great club lighting.

It was a bit of a walk, but absolutely worth it. We took a cab from the port to the Malecón Boardwalk and then hoofed it about a half-mile to Fredy's. You can tell this is a local favorite. The restaurant is lovely and inviting, and I was honestly impressed by all the vibrant colors and the incredibly beautiful wallpaper. Service was friendly and prompt, and our group of seven was seated in a cozy back corner, like we were members of a super-exclusive breakfast club. I ordered a Bloody Mary and shared the Ranchero eggs ($138 pesos). They were served just like traditional ranchero eggs: over two fried tortillas bathed in red and green sauce, accompanied by refried beans. The Bloody Mary was delicious (don't expect an American-style "salad in a glass" with a ton of garnishes--you just get a piece of celery, and honestly, that's all you need), but the Mary mix was savory and delicious. The ranchero eggs were also savory and delicious; a half order was perfect for me, especially when they give you a basket of bread with jam for the table to share (and for me to hoard). The whole table loved their meals; everybody cleaned their plates, which is the international sign for "This was a good decision." The atmosphere was so cheerful and vibrant, truly a feast for the eyes before the food even arrived! Each bite of the Ranchero eggs was a delightful mix of savory flavors, and sharing that bread basket felt like a little family moment. It's the kind of place that just makes you feel happy to be there.

You'll find people engaged in all sorts of activities ....eating, drinking, dancing, and socializing. Andale is the place to have a great time. Today, for some reason, the restaurants and bars on the street seemed less crowded. It was a Wednesday night when we finally stepped foot into Andale's. We ordered margaritas, shots of anejo tequila, and a beverage; we had already had dinner elsewhere. The DJ was playing a mix of 90s R&B, reggaeton, country, and pop music, and the whistle blowing from the staff added to the lively and exciting atmosphere. I must admit, though, the loud whistle blowing now and then annoyed me, I managed to drown it out somehow. The sidewalk actually runs right between their outdoor seating and the entrance, so you can't help but notice it. It looked relaxed, not too busy, and the staff greeted me as I walked by. I took a quick look at the menu, spotted my favorite tacos, and that was all I needed--I stayed. I asked to sit outside since it was such a beautiful day, with a gentle breeze coming through. Perfect setting. I ordered a beer, some guacamole and chips to start, and the al pastor plate. The guacamole was a great portion--easily enough for two--and I loved that it was chunky with a nice texture and "bite" to it. It came with chips and salsa, making it a solid starter. Then came the al pastor tacos... so good. At first glance, I didn't see any pineapple and thought, wait a minute... but once I took a bite, I realized it was mixed in with the meat--little bits of sweetness tucked into the savory, slightly charred pork. That balance of flavors really brought it together. Service was friendly and attentive, and I noticed a few regulars stopping by and chatting with the staff. That's always a great sign--it tells you this place has a real connection with the people who come here often. Overall, great food, great service, and a welcoming vibe. I'd definitely come back again.
