I was looking so hard for a DJ ... it got to the point of ANY DJ. all the recommendations I had received, none returned my phone calls/emails. I had put one last attempt on Facebook for recommendations and was told about Murphy's Bay Area DJ. I heard back instantly! Brian kept me informed as what was required from me and was determ to make my daughter 'a wedding perfect. Being administratIve minded and detailed oriented and also knowing the drama within the guests I even appreciated the questionaire. If I had a question it was promptly answered. I was warned about the possibility that the mic wasn't going to carry on the beach due to possible wind. The day was perfect! The mic carried...we didn't have a lot of music chosen so the music chosen was spot on. It was a small wedding and no one did a lot of dancing more because of the venue ... but the music in the background was perfect. However, what Randy did know was that I have been recovering from a bad 2021 year full of a lot of medical tragedies. I had just gotten off oxygen a month prior. My family and I danced constantly...and to dance and celebrate not only the wedding but life brought much joy to our family's lives. We had fun! We were silly and loving ... and Randy, our DJ was so into the music...and we knew when he like a song just because he'd be dancing too! My favorite part was my daughter and new son-in-law love the new music ... and me, I didn't feel that a wedding was the appropriate setting for inappropriate language or suggestions. Randy gave the best of both worlds and accommodated us both! Any requests that were made was found and done. Randy was respectful and fun throughout the whole evening! I highly highly recommend this DJ service! I'm so thankful to have found them and willing to use them again and again! read more

I HIGHLY recommend DJ Murph! Brian Michael Murphy he Dj'd my wedding last week and he did suuuuuch an amazing job!!! He took the time to meet with my mom and I to go over all of the details a couple weeks before the wedding. He was so responsive to all of our ideas and helped us out with our timeline to make sure everything was awesome and smooth!!! He is such a fun, happy all around nice good guy in general, outside of Dj-ing and he really brings his personality with him to the event, and he is very charismatic and everyone will like him! He knows exactly how a wedding reception should be and he never misses a beat! Without him things would not have gone as perfectly as they did. He played music that we picked, that others picked and that would keep people dancing and interested. It can be easy to get bored at other people's weddings and every single person was having a good time at mine thanks to him. He is very professional and well liked by everyone from the young kids to my 88 year old grandma. He works really hard to make sure everything goes smoothly and that everyone enjoys themselves. Our timeline was right on time too thanks to his Mc services and that rarely happens at weddings!! He also has really awesome uplighting and laser type lights that he can bring too!! I will be recommending him to all my friends in the future!! And will use his again if I need a dj!! Thank youuu! read more

To sum it up in one word...Unforgettable! Absolutely amazing The world we live in today, is overly saturated with choices, often resulting in confusion and uncertainty in making a selection, i.e. Where to eat, where to stay, where to vacation, where to live, who to hang out with, where to work...even what to wear. When planning an event, one is faced with a similar obstacle. How can one navigate through this plethora of options? Especially, when the Industry has an influx of pseudo reviews, with the intention of persuading an overwhelmed shopper (bride/groom/party planner/etc.) to purchase their product (venue/caterer/DJ/MC). Fortunately, there is a solution. When planning an event requiring a DJ and or MC...DJ MURPH is the "unparalleled" choice. DJ Murph provides a service difficult to express in print. From "prelude-to finale" it's pure magic. DJ Murph has the ability to read people, anticipate their needs, and somehow, he always knows what you want! His skills on the turntables are impressive, and his talent as an MC is unsurpassed. He can create fairytale moments for the attendees, as well as, making the most resistant person do the "chicken dance." With seamless transitions and an endless amount of energy and motivation... DJ Murph is a must! #MurphIsAMust read more

I attended a close friends wedding a few years back and Brian was the Dj there. By far the most fun I've had at a wedding! Huge credit to Dj murph he did a great job keeping the dance floor going with his music selection and even taking requests! When my brother and his fiancé started planning their wedding a year ago I had recommended Dj murph. Since then they say he has been so responsive to all their questions and Brian has asked his own questions as well to clarify exactly what they want and every conversation has been with Brian (Dj murph) himself which has made my brother more comfortable in this process only dealing with the person who is going to actually Dj his wedding. I know I haven't personally hired Dj murph YET:) but you have to give credit where it's due. From my experience to attending an event he hosted to my brother and sister in laws experience so far I have to give this company 5 stars and I will continue to recommend this company to any of my friends and family...I'm going to push my brother to write a review after his wedding and he can tell you for himself..stay tuned! read more

AMAZING! I honestly don't think our wedding would have been the way it was without him there! He went above and beyond. Way past his job description. He played amazing music and knew what he was doing when it came to weddings. Our venue didnt do their job correctly and Brian stepped up and helped us out. I did notice some of the kids that were there was looking at all the equipment and I saw Brian pick one of them up and show them. Which was amazing because I know all the equipment is expensive. And when you have 4 years Olds who are interested most people would have asked them to not touch it. So I can't thank him enough for making our wedding perfect! I also got the photobooth which was a huge hit with our guests! The kids were in and out of there taking Thier own pictures and the staff that was sitting there was super sweet! I'm so happy I got the photobooth I got all the copys of the photos that night on a flash drive that they put on my keys cause I was running around like crazy! Seriously AMAZING! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BRIAN! read more

We hired Murphy Entertainment to DJ our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made! Brian was professional from start to finish. We gave him a random list of songs that my guests requested on their RSVP cards, I told him they were in no particular order and asked that he create some kind of a play list that would make sense and keep our crowd happy, he totally came through! I had nervous wedding jitters but Brian said, "I got you", he then had us play this game and all my nervousness completely left me. At one point our photographer refused to take a group shot (her review will reflect that) so Brian took the photo and sent me the pics!! We added on the photobooth and what a big hit that was, our guests had a great time with that. The uplighting gave our ranch barn area such a fun and welcoming vibe. If you are looking for a DJ who will be engaged and make your event a hit, I suggest you go with Murphy Entertainment! read more

DJ Murph provided us with the works package for our November 10 wedding and we couldn't be happier! He was easy to work with and detail oriented from the beginning. He had me start making a Spotify wedding music playlist, and had me share it with him before the wedding. He has an amazing wedding checklist where he asked for all the details of the things that you want to include in your special day from ceremony to reception to the last song. He was willing to help out and pitch in with setup wherever he was needed without a complaint, and he also efficiently broke down his equipment in record time so that we could leave the hall how we found it. Our ceremony and reception was a whirlwind that ran seamlessly because of Brian's experience and professionalism! He made us feel at ease and checked in with us the whole night to make sure we were happy and listened with intent to all the last minute things that I came up with! read more

I recently was part of a wedding that DJ Murph hosted. By "hosted," I mean he was the DJ, caterer, facilitator, organizer, and entertainer. Everything from the entrance music of the bridal party, to the food served, to the photo booth, to the dance floor was nothing less than amazing. The attention to detail was impeccable. The bride and grooms expectations were not only met, but surpassed. By far THE BEST WEDDING I'VE EVER BEEN TO! And it wouldn't have been possible without DJ Murph and his catering. Thanks Murph for the experience of a lifetime. I highly recommend DJ Murph not only for weddings, but for any occasion. He's the guy that knows how to throw a party, and gets the job done!! read more

I have been to many weddings that Brian has DJ'd and have always had an amazing evening. The most recent event he DJ'd was a Comedy show with dancing after! It was amazing! I also loved that there was a fun photo booth to remember the fun night before. The music was all so perfectly timed with each situation . That's especially important for events such as weddings and other formal events. I highly recommend this talented Artist for your next event!! Quality service for great prices as well! Dj Murph is the best of the best! We chose him for our wedding DJ and photobooth. He was so professional, helpful, and kind through the whole process! He is the person you can trust for all your party/event needs. We had a ton of special requests that turned out wonderfully due to him being flexible and going with our "vision" and flow. He really does know what he's doing down to the last details and made our event party so fun. In addition to being a locally owned company with honest prices, and a user friendly, intuitive process for booking and planning; Brian and his team were fantastic! We hired him for my sister's wedding and I could not have been more pleased with his service. He was professional and courteous with a personal touch. He kept everybody entertained while keeping the evening on track. The photo booth was a huge hit, he had fun games (even for people who don't like games), and he actually got my dad up and dancing!! He delivered far beyond our expectations. I could not imagine hiring anyone else to DJ/MC future events for our family. read more

We just had Brian DJ our wedding on Aug 29th and he did a great job! He was great to work with before the wedding with all the planning that went into our big day. We even had guests request songs on their rsvps and he got them all into the mix. At the wedding he kept everything on track as far as timing and kept the party going. His choice of music was great and we never had a empty dance floor. His sound system was top notch and his up lights added a great ambience. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family. If you are looking for a great DJ who won't gouge you because it's a wedding look no further. read more

Thank you to Brian and Michael for making my 75th birthday party one of the best ever. The Photo booth was very popular with all the guests and the music of my era and my special request music, Bruce S, was superb. This was held at a private home in Lafayette and worked out perfectly except for the rain that fell most of the night. Having the microphone for the guests to roast me, very nicely, was a wonderful addition. In turn, I was able to speak on how I knew the wonderful family and friends in the attendance. You will have the best time if you are in need of a DJ, just call Murphy's Bay Area DJ. read more
