We were extremely disappointed in DJ David's work. We spent time on the phone with him going over details of what we wanted and he ignored it all. We spent a lot of time putting our playlist together with the house/dance mixes we wanted and we put those exact mixes on their app playlist but he played different versions that were slow and no one wanted to dance to. He assured us he was going to play all the songs that were on our playlist but there were at least 10 songs at the end that he didn't play. There was one song that had the same title as a song we picked but was a completely different song! It was slow and even when he saw all the guests stopped dancing and were confused he just kept playing it till I had to go over and make him change it. We also specifically told him to only play a minute to a minute and a half of each song so people don't get bored and instead he played the ENTIRE song of most songs and the transitions were awful. There was one transition that was pure static and it took him about 15 seconds to fix it. Sometimes there were just empty pauses between songs or the song would stop for a second right in the middle. He also didn't play the entrance song we asked for! Extremely disappointing way to end our our wedding night. If DJ David is assigned to DJ your wedding, ask them to give you someone else. We would have been better off with a Spotify playlist. read more

We had an excellent experience hiring Nor Cal Pro Sound for our wedding. DJ Alex handled our initial questions and coordination in a friendly and expedient manner, and helped us choose DJ Dray for our event, who was very professional, friendly, accommodating, and a great DJ to boot! They use an app for the planning process, which I was at first a little wary of but it turned out to work extremely well, allowing you to import songs directly from Spotify and other music sources and map out all the key moments and segments of the event. We had a fairly specific vision for our wedding (family member serving as our MC, 2-hour band set in the middle, different music for different parts of the night, and more). DJ Dray happily accommodated all of our wishes and pulled it off flawlessly. From helping coordinate our ceremony to closing out the night with 2 hours of great DJing, DJ Dray exceeded our expectations by jumping in and becoming part of the team--in a purely constructive, helpful manner--making our wedding a success rather than another moving part that we had to worry about and manage. I think Nor Cal Pro Sound's pricing is in line with other vendors, but if we had to do it all again I would happily re-hire them for this aspect alone, and we absolutely recommend Nor Cal Pro Sound and DJ Dray to anyone else who needs a DJ for their wedding or other event. read more

When I had a sudden idea for a song mix, he immediately put together a sample and called me to work it out. Music and dancing were of paramount importance for my wedding and I'm extremely satisfied with the level of service I got from Nor Cal Pro Sound. Willie was courteous in working with me to design the playlist and supplement it based on some seed songs. I got so many compliments on the music that night. If you're looking for specific songs to play, the app is pretty easy to use, but Willie was also very knowledgeable and experienced in DJing weddings and could run with little direction. He helped me arrange the music for our first dance and also cut little clips for the entrances for each member of our wedding party. It was extremely comforting to us to work within their well-defined structure ahead of time, knowing that all the pre-work would make the day-of run so much more smoothly. We hired Nor Cal Pro Sound for our wedding at Viansa Winery and Fabian was amazing! The app was so easy to use and I loved that I could add music over time and as I thought of new songs or heard them on the radio. On the day of the wedding, Fabian and his assistant were on time and ready to go long before the guests arrived. The mix of different styles of music were great and Fabian was good at transitioning from one song to the next. Even near the end of the night when guests started dwindling, Fabian kept it going with the guests that wanted to dance until they drop and our other guests enjoyed the music while sitting and chatting. Mainly worked with Tony and our DJ, Jason. They were both completely amazing and very communicative. They had a wide array of services to choose from which is great since they had a Sound, Lighting, and Photobooth services which was exactly what we were looking for. This review is completely well deserved and long overdue. Since my husband was in charge of our wedding music, this is in his words, but I completely agree with him! I was referred to Tony, the owner of Nor Cal Pro Sound, who DJ'ed at a friend's wedding. Unfortunately, I had to leave my friend's wedding early and wasn't able to experience the post party dance. What set Tony of Nor Cal Pro Sound above the rest was Tony's friendliness and flexibility to accommodate our needs. We needed outdoor audio services for our outdoor ceremony and needed enough up-lighting for a room which fit 400 guests. Tony gave us a very competitive offer which I couldn't refuse! After the booking process, my wife and I decided we wanted to do a choreographed mash-up using multiple songs. Tony was extremely patient and helpful during the editing process. It was perfect and just what we had wanted. What takes the cake is our DJ, Dray. Like Tony, Dray, was very responsive and patient, and gave us his mix samples for us to listen to his work. Both Tony and Dray met us at our venue for a walk-through to ensure that they knew where to set up, where the outlets were, etc so that the actual day would go smoothly. The date of our wedding was set one month after Dray's own wedding and yet he still stepped up for the gig! A few days prior to our wedding, Dray lost his voice, but he still pulled through without calling off the gig. My wife also requested that he do a mash-up for her father-daughter dance and Dray put one together very quickly and without hesitation. Dray's services were on par and impeccable! He arrived early, did his set-up, and was ready to go without a hitch! Dray was able to accommodate a live worship band and a violinist for the processional. Without my wife knowing, I had coordinated a surprise song which was to be played at a certain point during my vows and Dray nailed it! It had the whole bridal party and audience in tears and that was one of the biggest highlights of our ceremony! During the reception, Dray performed flawlessly with our MC and the order of events took place without any incidents. Without Dray's experience and professionalism, our wedding would not have been the same. Our biggest regret was that we were so busy at the end of the night, we were unable to do much dancing and take advantage of the music then. But from the pictures and comments by our guests, they certainly did! read more
