Stopped in for an impromptu bowling night for my husbands birthday. Staff were really kind and helpful! The inside was awesome. Tons of arcade games and activities to do. I don't agree with the 'have to wait in line for a drink refill' policy. I waited and held my entire bowling party's game up, which I paid hourly to play, for 15 minutes, while a very inefficient employee took 4 food orders. When I approached the manager about losing 15 minutes of my bowling time because of this policy, she offered no solution and reiterated the policy. I'll be going to one of the other lanes next time. Ive been here a few times and have had decent experiences. This last one just wasnt it. Just felt like a bit of false advertising. There was a sign that had an infinity sign next to the word bowling with different options underneath. After reading this, my assumption was that it was unlimited bowling. What i didnt expect was to be surprised with selecting the option on the sign at the counter for the sunday 12-close for bowling, a pizza and pitcher of soda for $64 and change to be only for an hour. I just wish the staff was able to explain this when purchasing the package. When I brought it to their attention, the lady at the counter just made me feel stupid for not knowing it was only an hour. I pointed it out that it didnt say only an hour and that it showed the unlimited sign. I didnt feel as if my concern was addressed. I am indecisive on whether I will come back. So i was in town and decided to take my 8 year old daughters bowling. First off the staff at the front desk never engaged us it took me asking "do you work here?" To get a lane. We got a lane for 90 minutes for $67 which is absoluto insane. On top of that out balls got stuck twice for 10 minutes so ultimately we only were able to bowl 2 games. After doing some research srike n spare is a franchise so i am going to the source. Lets be realistic these places don't care so as painful as it is the only way to make things acceptable is by boycotting these busniesses. If you think you should drop 200 bucks to bowl then this is the perfect place for you. The idea of iconic places that kids and parents can go and have a good time without going bankrupt iss now gone. Strike and Spare, mainit event, dave and Buste only care to daing as much as possible. The topper of the night bartender could only wait on one person at a time so after i got an initial drink. I avoid newly opened businesses because I want to give them time to fully train their people, work out kinks in their operations and overall let them get their feet on the ground, so to speak. I was excited to see the relocation and subsequent opening of Strike and Spare and looked forward to our visit. The facilities are modern and new (of course!}. The couches, comfortable, and the temperature, also comfortable. We enjoyed our visit, much better than my previous visit many moons ago in the old location. However, it seems mechanical glitches still need to be ironed out in the pin handling machinery. Several times, our pins moved after a ball came through and jammed the pin counter so that our score for the ball was recorded as "zero". The machinery jammed in the down position and we called for help to unjam the equipment at least twice. These are not major issues but they are issues nonetheless, considering that we have ZERO issues at another bowling alley that we visit. I'd rather bowl at this alley, in my city, but will not be a regular until I hear that progress has been made on improving the reliability of their equipment. read more

I was over at this Strike and Spare for a college night recently- I had a blast! I was able to skate in the rink and bowled one game. Spent most the night in the arcade... The person I wanted to give a shout out to was working at the Skates counter- I never got their name, but half their head is shaved and they wear glasses. I'm fairly certain they wore dangling belts, too. They were SO patient with me while my friend and I were finding the right skate sizes, myself alone came back and forth about three times. I visited Strike & Spare on a Wednesday night for a corporate event for my TN team. The staff was super pleasant upon arrival and made sure we had everything we needed for our bowling event. We had so much fun that we ended up extending our 2-hour event. We were surprised by how many activities they have in their facilities and can't wait to return to try out the last tag, bumper cars, and timer skating! On top of the activities, we were impressed by the variety of drinks offered at the bar and the quality of food. I'm often left unimpressed by bowling alley bar food, but Strike & Spare had an extensive menu to make everyone in our group happy. Can't wait to return!! This is where i normally come bowling just because they have discounts and specials pretty often and aren't as busy as the other bowling alleys in the area. It's old so it's really not fancy but it gets the job done. The staff is always very friendly and the food and drinks get made fresh which is a plus. Decided to stop here and eat before a movie. Took over 45 minutes for a burger and a patty melt. It was absolutely FREEZING inside. Tables were dirty so I asked for a bottle of cleaner to wipe one off. Three employees were just standing at the register chatting. They said they would send someone. After 5 minutes, someone came out and slammed napkin dispensers around while angrily wiping off the table--just one table! They left all the rest dirty! There are signs up saying they are doing lots of extra cleaning and sanitizing. We ended up being here over an hour and the only thing EVER cleaned was the table I asked to have cleaned. We hoped this would be a great place to have fun before and after movies but we definitely won't be back even though it is only about 20 steps from the theater. read more

Got here for the first time during NFL playoffs season, so my first impression was a great one. They had giant projectors displaying the game. (I didn't really care about either team, but it was still cool.) They have things called "Summer Passes" for people who bowl a LOT! I started going here about every day and it is almost completely empty every time. I honestly won't be surprised if it goes out of business, but I may just arrive at the wrong times. Hey have an arcade, which is incredible. I haven't been, but the games look fun. They also sell food, but it's a bowling alley so it's nothing special. This family fun center is clean and has good presentation. From what I understand this is the old Sears anchor store at Stones River Mall. The place is well staffed and the employees are relaxed and helpful. I went with a group of over 15 people and they accommodated us efficiently without any major hurdles. We took advantage of the $13.95 arm band rate offered during the week for unlimited attractions. The attractions are clean and the main floor is spacious. Signs and logos appear to be airbrushed and hand painted on the walls, which is attention to detail not seen much anymore. There are lots of food options and drinks at the bar. The bowling lanes are well kept with fast pin setters and several balls to choose from. The lanes are waxed and the balls roll evenly. Laser Tag has good equipment and displays inside and out to show you scoring. There are several free for all and team game modes to play. The skate rink however is a bit small, resulting in tight turns and only the traditional 4 wheeled skates are offered, no rollerblades. It was also too warm in the skate rink area the day I visited. Upon knowing this, we tried to get a refund before we began to bowl so we could leave and go elsewhere but only vouchers to return were offered. First of all I want to say that the amenities are awesome here . When I got up to the food counter I was welcomed with a smile from someone that was having a rough first day at the job Brianna and she was by far the most nicest person Ive encountered . Her trainer not so much . Her trainer kept leaving her to tend to a line and she was pretty rude her face and attitude said it all that she doesn't like her job. She doesn't need to be working for customer service and I wish you guys would have a million of Brianna I think her trainers name was Ariel or something like that . All my family wanted to do was order some food and Brianna did the best she could trying to ask questions and learning as she goes. Now ,ms chasity was also awesome even attending the bar she walked around to teach ms Brianna some things now that is leadership and I thought that was awesome . This bowling alley is both over priced and the worst I've ever been to. The lanes are poorly kept and the machinery doesn't work. The pin setters do not work and knock down 3-4 pins every frame. If you enjoy bowling this is the worst place you can spend your time. We used multiple lanes and every one was worse than the last. For the price the pin setters should at least work. read more

We compared Lanes Trains and Automobiles to Strikes and Spares the next day. It is the new bowling alley who moved from the Broad street area to the old Sears building in the mall. It was no compare. Half the people there had no mask, the workers had their mask down over their nose. They put people next to you so it was easy to get balls mixed up and rarely did I see them wiping balls down. I brought my own Clorox wipes. We will not be going back I believe the name was STRIKES and SPARES. They were very unprofessional and they are not abiding by safety to keep their staff safe or customers. They should be bowling every other lane. We are having to touch others balls and some are not wearing mask while bowling that close to each other. Customer service was terrible. I asked the lady to put her mask upon her face and she refused. Then we had trouble and evidently they fixed it and did not come back to say anything. We wasted at least 25 minutes of our time. No one wiped off balls or tables. read more

The only thing that wasn't so great was that during the trivia questions the host was a bit racist, not surprising given that this is Tennessee but still unpleasant. I'm all for old school but they have some serious technical issues. We had to re-rack after every strike, had pins down that caused us to have to re-rack, and our ball got stuck a couple of times.
