Great line up of games. Most places with pinball machines only cater to people who play all the new machines This one has new and hold. The consoles were amazing and so were the arcade machines. It's nice to be able to buy a soda and a snack. I also love the fact that there were some console games for sale. This place has everything. I am a small lineup of games myself I understand what it's like to keep them up. I was amazed at all these games were working. A few of the games have to use flat screens but that's a tiny price to pay to place such an amazing lineup of machines. In fact I was just mostly in awe! I've been to the big museum that used to exist in Banning, CA., and I would say this place not only rivals it, but, beats it because it's open all the time. I normally just do food reviews, but this is an awesome arcade. You can pay $15 for all day access to their game selection. It is basically a no frills warehouse filled with the largest selection of pinball and arcade games I have ever seen. Most of the games work and are set to free play. There is even a span of different consoles to play games on when you first walk in. Tournaments are frequently held if you are into that kind of competition. You can buy, sell, and/or trade classic console games at the front. There is so much offered in one location. For an extremely reasonable price, you are allowed to stay all day and play any arcade game, pinball machine, or console game they have available. This is THE place to go (besides Chuck E. Cheese, it's the ONLY place to go) if you're a local seeking a classic-style arcade. This place has pretty much every arcade machine I remember from my childhood, plus a few imports that I never got an experience to play. You pay a flat fee to play all the games you want for the entire time the arcade is open; 99% of the machines within are fully operational and well-maintained. This was a wonderful gem to find while staying in Nashville. We were looking for something to do while one of our cars were being worked on, we had kids ages 8-17 and everyone including the adults had so much fun. The kids were exposed to games they had never seen or played while the adults took a stroll down memory lane. The adults ranged in age from 40's to 60's, from tons of Pinball machines, Donkey Kong, PAC-Man, Golden Tee, Virtual Reality games, Duck Hunt, Joust, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dig Dig, and so many other favorites. For $10 a person you can play games for hours and hours, ALL I CAN SAY IS PLEASE DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT's COVER. Great place. I went with my grandson 12 and husband thinking I wouldn't love boys night. It was a blast. Our grand son loved the VR and even tried to beat his grandpa TOP scorer on Pac-Man. They had Dance Revolution which I loved We all had a great time and 3 hours was just gone. Can't wait to take the entire family back. Oh and did I mention pinball. The Hickory Hollow location was good, but the new place is amazing! There are easily 200-300 arcade machines and 100-200 pinball machines. It's dimly lit to avoid glare and the temperature is just right for some serious gameplay. The thing that would put this place over the top would be an attached eatery or a BYO option where you could order pizza and beers to eat between gaming. read more

A very fun way to spend an afternoon, or an entire day. I had been meaning to get down to Smyrna to check this place out ever since learning of its existence a few weeks ago. When I finally did I was suitably impressed. They pretty much have every game you could ever imagine from Galaga, Tapper, and Pole Position, to hundreds of pinball machines, and basically every console you've ever heard of, and some you haven't. Basically, you can play any game you've ever heard of. Whether you're older, like me, and remember arcade machines from the 80s, or younger and want to check out some VR, or some more obscure Japanese imports, then you are going to want to check this place out. Everything in the place is free play after paying the entrance fee of either $7 for an hour, or $10 for all day (re-entrance permitted). Obviously the $10 is the better deal. Get your wristband at the door, and you're on your way. Sure, some of the classic arcade games are a touch worse for wear aesthetically, but I didn't come across a single one (and I played dozens of machines) where the controls were messed up, or the game did anything unpredictable. They also have games (NES, SNES, PS1/2/3, etc.) and consoles for sale at pretty good prices. They also have snacks, and drinks for sale at the front counter. Please don't spill them in the games. This is the place to go if you are into gaming, or a casual occasional gamer like me. Clear your schedule for the day and head on over for the afternoon. read more

Revised review for a few reasons: First, the place DOES take debit cards! Apparently when I came in the time I wrote the review there was some kind of miscommunication. So that was a mistake in the review and I want to make sure it was corrected! Now that they've really settled into this new location, the previous issues with games that weren't working has been significantly improved. The percentage of games/pinball machines not working is now much much much lower than I said in my previous review. (I was there yesterday and can think of perhaps 5 games/pinball machines that were not working.) For ten bucks a person ALL DAY, this is a steal. And we went in the afternoon for a few hours, went out and had dinner and ran errands, and could come back for a few hours in the evening without having to pay again. They are really all day for ten bucks. The owner, by the way, was VERY receptive to suggestions and I even saw changes based on things I mentioned (like a sign warning of a step that people could trip on in their back room.) I'm not sure how to make a long enough review about an arcade! We've been waiting for Game Galaxy to open its doors in Smyrna! My husband and I came here after dropping our kids off with their grandparents. The guy working the counter was cool and let us know what all they had available: arcade games, shooters, pinball machines, and various consoles. They also have games to trade. It's a pretty cool set-up! Free play and you can pay $7 for an hour or $10 for all-day. We paid for an hour, but should've paid for all-day! (Who knew CarnEvil was so addictive?!) They have classic favorites like Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Asteroids, etc. Plus, a few multi-player games like X-Men and Captain America. Not all the games are working, but there's more than enough to keep you entertained! read more

We took our grandsons here today. We paid $10 for an hour, rather than $12 for all day, which turned out to be a good move for us. Our 13 year old loved the place and wants to have his next birthday party there. Our five year old didn't really find any games that he could play or understand though. His feet couldn't touch the pedals on any of the driving games. We couldn't find a step stool so that he could try the pinball machines. We did try a few PacMan machines but the speed was set so high on them that he couldn't control it. We weren't expecting the place to be like a Chuck E Cheese but figured there'd be a FEW games suitable for younger kids. A Whack-a-Mole? A driving game that adjusts for smaller kids? The first time I walked into Game Galaxy, I was instantly teleported to 80's bliss. A look at my then nine-year-old's big smile told me I'd just hit pay dirt, too: here was a place where we would both be happy for hours. I may have been a bit more ecstatic than he at that moment, but I knew that soon, the 8-bit siren song of vintage arcade games would have him hooked. He's eleven, now, and his devotion is rock-solid. For starters, the price is incredibly reasonable. $10 per person for the entire day. The vibe is great, too. Low lighting, a kind and very knowledgeable staff, and an unbelievable selection of games. The huge selection of pinball games (I'm a new fan) are incredibly maintained. They are turned off to save power (which also makes it easier to enjoy the sounds of the game you are currently playing). Just look underneath the bottom for the switch near the front right leg to turn on and off. The simplicity of Centipede's trackball and a single fire button made my kid an old skool game believer. On our second visit, the ball stuck a bit, and I went to the front to ask for help. A nice guy came right over, opened the cabinet, and took a couple of minutes to fix it. My son loved watching that. He then started a new game to make sure it was working well. After he cleared several boards rather quickly, I realized he was the owner. I asked him if he would mind continuing to play as my son (and I) watched in amazement. In the last couple of years, I've enjoyed introducing a lot of my son's friends to both the Antioch (soon to close) and Smyrna locations. Bonus - if you are a parent who loves these games - it's a real win-win to take your child and a friend or two. I felt kind of guilty the 1st time a parent thanked me profusely - that I was a real saint (ha ha) for taking kids to a game room. I had to let her know I'd easily go on my own;) Jason, the owner, has a deep, passionate, and impressive knowledge of the games he has (imho) generously shared with the community. This place is great - played there for 4 hours yesterday. Their Neo Geo arcade machine has over 100 titles including Magical Drop 2 (fast paced match 3). Some of the pinballs are good for their music alone. Guardians of the Galaxy starts playing Cherry Bomb when you hit its 5-ball wizard mode. Keep hitting Groot for multiball. They have some rare stuff there too, like the 3-level Haunted House and the huge "holographic" Time Traveler game. Their Addam's Family game could be a museum piece. It has a color display and like-new playfield. As far as thing not working, just let them know and they'll get to it when they can. I suggested they look for a Tatio Battle Shark. Those aren't easy to find. When I checked, only 10 are owned by collectors on VAPS (Vintage Arcade Preservation Society). I forgot to tell them a couple things: AC/DC needs a right flipper solenoid (unplayable) and Caveman is playing at about 40% of the flipper strength it should have. Caveman was the first video pinball game and not easy to keep going. I only know how it's supposed to play since I had one at a skating rink in the 80s. Try to beat 14 million, the score only goes to 9,999,999 :) read more

First off. I love Pinball. When I heard they had over 30 machines, I had to come check out. What a Disappointment! I'd say 75% of the machines were non-functioning. The other 25% were in a state of disrepair. If you are going for Pinball, find another spot. This place is a waste of money. read more
