Was a 5 star but it has been closed this season due to, sadly, the poor health of the local manager. Ownership seems to have abandoned this island must-visit. read more

Um, I think the stores in Edgartown and Vineyard Haven are closed!!!! The Edgartown one is pretty empty. Too bad

Cute fudge shop in town. Have tried lots of the flavors and in my opinion the ones worth getting are the chocolate, double chocolate and chocolate with walnuts. Have purchased several other flavors to bring home to friends but those 3 are the only flavors people end up eating and I have had to toss the rest. That being said people have really loved the chocolate flavors! read more

LOVE Murdick's Fudge! Not only is this a huge nostalgia connection for me (I grew up vacationing to the Vineyard as a kid) but it's also delicious! Don't listen to these other haters on here - this is FUDGE, I.e, CANDY... if you didn't want sweets don't go to a candy shop... *face palm* My personal favorites are peanut butter chocolate, penuche (caramel-flavor), maple walnut, and s'mores. But I've had others that are also tasty there, just depends on what you're in the mood for! All their chocolate flavors are more on the milk chocolate side vs dark chocolate - so if you're looking for something decadent this isn't really it. The staff are always very friendly and eager to give you deals if they have them. If you get the chance to get there when they're making fudge, take the 5-10 mins to watch some of the process, it's mesmerizing! read more

I'm not like a fudge expert by any means so I have no frame of reference regarding the quality of their fudge, so take this review with a grain of salt. The place is fine. They have a decent quantity of flavors. We ordered a peanut butter one, a chocolate one, and maybe butter pecan? They give you deals if you order a few different flavors. Holy SHIT this shit is sweet. I need to inject myself with insulin after eating it. Am I eating too much? Maybe I'm eating too much of it but good god. read more

5 stars for the fudge. 2 stars for the attitude of the person working there. I went here twice. The first time I went, I was simply curious to try their fudge. I bought 1 piece of fudge which cost around $12. PROTIP: I realized that the 3 slice box was a lot cheaper - $23 for 3 slices so I went back the next day to buy more. (The 3 slices box is $39.95 online but includes shipping.) In terms of flavors, the rocky road is amazing. You can literally see them making fudge there so you know its as fresh as can be. The cape cod cranberry flavor was ok. I also got the peanut butter which was excellent. If you like vanilla based fudge, they have plenty of that. They also have peanut brittle and popcorn! In terms of service, it differed greatly the both times I went there. The first time I went, the lady was super friendly and eager to help me. She explained the different flavors to me. The second time I went.. the lady was busy chatting on the phone. I am pretty sure it was a personal call. I waited for about 5 minutes before she finally got off the phone. PRO TIP: If you miss the fudge, you can order online and have a little taste of MV wherever you are. read more

Got fudge here a few years ago and it was delicious, so on our recent trip back to Martha's Vineyard we stopped at the Edgartown store and got some. It was awful...crusty and hard. Nothing like I remembered. Last time we went to the Oak Bluffs store. Wasn't cheap either, two slices almost $24. What a waste of money! read more

Delicious fudge shop! I enjoy the classic vanilla but there are a variety of flavors (pictured). The store sells fresh fudge, variety of popcorn and homemade chocolate treats. If you are looking to buy fudge you need to order a full slab of the fudge - one slab of the vanilla with no addition nuts/additional ingredients was roughly $12.75. read more

I like to watch the Murdick Fudgemasters make the rich creamy velvety fudge by hand using an oak paddle-technique to mold a perfect 30-lb. slab on the marble table. Murdick's offers about a dozen flavors. I usually order Chocolate Walnut & Butter Pecan. & The Cashew Brittle is to die for. Can't leave the island without that blue-&-white striped bag with a few mini-boxes of fudge & brittle. I also patronize the Murdick's on Mackinac Island, where it originated in 1887. That's some legacy. They also serve cheese & caramel popcorn, peanut brittle, & salt water taffy in a barrel. read more

The two stars are for the peanut brittle. The fudge was stale and partly crystallized because of way too much sugar. The person behind the counter had nothing to say about their offerings. Looking at everything in the case, we asked what she thought was really good, and she said "the fudge." read more

Murdick has tasty fudge (truth be told, I am a bit of a fudge snob). The store was cute, the staff was friendly (or as friendly as they could be since it was 90 degrees outside and their shop doesn't have A/C). They were very generous with the samples. We had: the cheese popcorn - my girls loved chocolate peanut butter fudge - hubby enjoyed vanilla - tasty penuche - tasty but not the best I've had cranberry - not my cup of tea I would recommend Murdick's but they really need to put A/C in the shops. You can't help but feel bad for the staff and it isn't very pleasant for the people who have to wait in the store. read more

OMG. Here you go. The fudge is so good that, when the Fudge Dude spilled some off the Fudge Shaping Table, I told him forget the mop and that I'd lick it off the tiles. Go for the PENUCHE. Also good is the Peanut Butter, Butter Pecan, and Double Chocolate. They use real butter here and the pieces, which I call 'bricks', are individually wrapped. Not to be missed in Edgartown! read more

The young girl could not have been less interested in selling us anything. Only a couple of small samples, one S'mores but it was only chocolate. "The sample I cut didn't have any marshmallows or graham crackers in it." "Could you cut us a small sample that does?" "No." "OK, about a sample of something else?" "Sorry. I can't." "But there's only one thing to try and it's not even a good sample. We can't try ANYTHING else at all?" "No. Sorry." We leave, buying nothing. #CouldHaveHadAGoodSale #NoThanks read more

I want to give Murdick's 5 stars... the Fudge is good and the place is iconic on the Vineyard. BUT for these prices, there should be more than 5 small pieces of pecan in a slice of chocolate pecan fudge. There should be more than 1 marshmallow and 2 small pieces of graham cracker in the S'mores Fudge. And for god's sake, there should be a little peanut butter across the whole slice of chocolate peanut butter fudge. For years I have been telling them they should put more of the stuff inside the fudge... but they don't. And it's really like plain chocolate fudge with a little bit of something... kind of a rip off. read more

You can get Murdick's Fudge at a few stores, either in Michigan or on Martha's Vineyard. I'm not sure how a Michigan fudge brand made it to MV, but I'm totally ok with it! Inside, you'll find the fudge shop and then a cafe. The cafe has limited seating, but good brownies and coffee options. In the shop, you'll find some samples on the counter, but they wouldn't let me try anything else. The weirdest part about this store was that no one was friendly at all. I visited on a Friday afternoon in late July, and I'm pretty sure I was the only one smiling in the entire store. The associates at the counter did not offer any help, or care to make any conversation. Regardless, the fudge does make a nice gift since it comes in a box and travels well. I probably would have bought more with some guidance, but I did the Yelp-recommended penuche and headed on my way. This is a good stop in Edgartown, but maybe the Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven stores are a little more friendly :) read more

My visiting guests from off-island always like to stop in after they get their Black Dog t-shirts, Mad Martha's Ice Cream and Vineyard Vines ties, but I'm a Chilmark Chocolate kind of a gal, myself. I don't eat candy like this any more but when I did, I must admit that Murdick's makes good fudge. But I make good fudge, too. They sell small boxes that you can bring home to friends who have never been to the Vineyard, and they'll be happy. But Chilmark Chocolates does that, too. Just saying. The problem is, do you have the fortitude to resist opening the little white box before you get back home? If you have that kind of willpower, I have great respect for you. read more

Had the peanut butter and chocolate fudge. It was just fine but did not blow me away. If you're into fudge you'll enjoy it.

yum yum yum! I just had to use their mailing service to send boxes to my family. It was so easy! All I had to do was fill out the little form and the girl at the counter helped me decide which confections to include. Each of my deliveries arrived to their destinations before I returned home and made the recipients feel very special. read more

It doesn't get much better than Murdicks fudge. The only thing that could possibly rival the fudge is their peanut brittle. The staff is always friendly and the fudge is fresh. But just as an observation... in the chocolate peanut butter fudge the ration of peanut butter to chocolate seems to be higher at the VH location. So adjust accordingly. read more

The popcorn here is often overlooked in favor of all different flavors of fudge, it shouldn't be. The caramel and cheese corn are some of the best examples of flavored popcorn you'll ever find. read more

I usually shy away from Fudge because most places just put wayyyyyy too much Sugar in the mix, but this place was spot on.....you know what I mean when you bite into a piece of Fudge, and it's just so damn sweet that you can't take another bite?? I had the Peanut butter Fudge that was creamy, and decadent, but not too sweet....I could have eaten the entire bar. Best Fudge I ever had. read more

Murdick's Fudge - Candy Stores Near Me - Edgartown, Massachusetts

I've never been to a fudge store that didn't offer samples. The staff is unfriendly, bordering on surly, and honestly the piece of fudge we did buy (after being refused a taste) was muddy and gross. read more

We were in a mood to indulge and thinking how can you get it wrong with fudge in Edgartown? I give the shop 10 stars with its big beautiful thick Carrera marble tables where the fudge is poured onto by the bakers with a wonderful presentation. The employees are very friendly. They offer tastings. But this is where the 10 star rating ends. I was wondering why the aroma did not intoxicate with the smell of rich butter and why the fudge samples just tasted like, I don't know, maybe a thicken chocolate soft drink? So I asked the baker; "how much butter do you use in a batch?" Because I know that a fine fudge is made with tons of butter and natural sugar. Well he replied; "we don't use any butter and we make it with corn syrup?" And he said this in a proud sort of way as though it's a great recipe. Meanwhile my wife was at the counter getting ready to pay for a very expensive amount of this stuff for us and also to give out as gifts. I was able to stop the transaction in time. This is without a doubt the worst tasting fudge I have ever had. I guess the other good reviewers are just used to eating low quality foods and corn syrup products? read more

It's kind of bull that you have to buy a POUND of fudge at a minimum here. But they are nice with samples and the peanut brittle is the best I have ever had. Choc walnut fudge was average. Cranberry fudge was not worth the calories. And butter pecan was standard. read more

A nice stop on our tour of Edgartown. Bought the peanut brittle as a gift, and the chocolate fudge for ourselves. You must be warned that it's deceptively decadent. It has a pure simple taste that's not too sweet but you can only have two bites before you know you're going to put on two pounds the next day...and you do! But it's totally worth it. Very cute store and friendly service that treats you like family. read more

Murdick's Fudge is by far the best fudge I've ever had. I sampled the chocolate peanut butter, the penuche and the cranberry. They all stood out as being delicious, but the penuche was by far my favorite. I nibbled on these little treats for days after bringing them home. This will definitely be on the list of places to go when I venture back to Martha's Vineyard some day next Summer. If you're taking the ferry trip out to The Vineyard you shouldn't leave without a box full of Murdick's fudge. YUM! read more

Nothing more needs to be said...the fudge here is the best. I like to stick with the classics, chocolate and vanilla, but every flavor I've eaten I've enjoyed. It's fun to watch them make the fudge by hand, too. Don't leave the Vineyard until you get some of this. read more

Fudge is usually too sweet for me but Murdick's must really do it right because I found myself not only enjoying what we bought but going back for more two days later. I still can't quite get behind plain chocolate - even the double chocolate - I need something to cut the sweet. But peanut butter worked perfectly. The penuche was great too - just salty enough. read more

Good peanut brittle and fudge which is all handmade right in front of you. I got the box of the peanut brittle and the cashew brittle I think I paid $9.50 a box. You can also get it in the smaller plastic bags which is cheaper. I didn't get the fudge but I some of my friends fudge it was good also. If you like fudge and peanut brittle you must come here. read more

Stopped in for an ice coffee at the cafe next door called Murdicks and wandered into the fudge shop. Delighted by the buttery smell of cashew brittle cooling on huge marble slabs in the shop. Couldn't resist making a purchase but they were out of the small bags of cashew brittle so settled for the peanut brittle instead. Staff was sweet and courteous and surprised me with a complimentary taste of the still warm cashew brittle large enough to share with my son! My taste buds were delighted by the buttery, still warm cashew brittle... quite an excellent combo with my robust but creamy ice coffee. Hope to be back someday! read more

I love fudge and this one was way better than most I've tried. I had the cranberry one which I'd never had before but I wanted to try something that would remind me of my vacation. Fudge was really good, creamy and not overly sweet. The lady let me get try a sample before I bought. I tried 2 samples. The only negative is that paying $12 for a slice of fudge was steep! read more

Delicious, fresh fudge. Peanut butter chocolate was so good.

Excellent fudge! Such a cute kind of family owned business right next to a cafe of the same name. Loved the fudge, and definitely want to try the peanut brittle. My only complaint is the price. I don't each a lot of fudge, so I don't know if $9 is a bit steep, but it sure felt that way to me. Definitely worth the splurge when you're on vacation, though! Try it! read more

Fudge is AMAZING! When we walked in, there were man making and cutting fudge. I looked Aust the priced thought they were high but after they gave us a taste test of the peanut butter fudge...it was well worth it! I wish we bought more. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT order online. Wrong order sent not once, but twice. When I asked for a refund, I was hung up on once, and then every other time they would take down all the information and say a manager would call -- weeks later -- still no phone call. Worst customer service. How hard is it to check the order and put 5 pieces of the correct fudge in a box? read more

Maybe I went on a bad day, or maybe it's just a problem with this particular location, but the fudge I got (chocolate) was pretty poor, as were the samples I tried (cranberry and peanut butter). They were all very grainy and mushy (unfortunately, I didn't get the samples until AFTER we'd made our purchase). I wouldn't eat their fudge again even if someone gave it to me free. The flavor was OK, but the texture was awful. We threw most of it out. read more
