This is a great place to find hard to find candy. Pop rocks, candy cigarettes, wax bottle candy etc. I bought Swedish fish, jelly beans (they have a large selection), and original pop rocks. I grew up in the 70s and 80s so it was refreshing to see all my childhood favorites. The prices are slightly higher than Amazon but comparable to most other stores. The cashier was pleasant and helpful. The store is clean and well organized too. I would recommend it. They have plenty of parking. read more

I needed taffy last minute for birthday party favors; and I didn't realize how hard it would be to find on the Cape in March! After going to 3 different places, I felt defeated. Gave Candy Co. a call as a last resort! I explained my vision with a Pinterest picture and Jill made it happen. She found the small round pieces and even rewrapped them to make my vision perfect! She communicated with me, listened to my concerns and didn't stop till I was satisfied with the product! I went there on my visit to the cape. I was really looking forward to the taffy. Reviews seemed pretty good so I decided to go. The taffy section was absolutely depleted. There were so many empty bins. I still got some of each that was left, and it was awful. I should have walked out and gone across the street to the other taffy. It was hard, and tasted very old. This place has some pretty cool stuff and a huge selection of candy. Some candy is a little overpriced and can be bought cheaper at a grocery store (ex: a small bag of single-serve skittles for $1.70 that can be bought for .99 elsewhere). My major issue with this place is that I've been here multiple times and the workers are consistently rude. I didn't think it was necessary to even bother reviewing this place but my last visit was awful. The woman behind the counter gave such attitude and threw our candy on the counter making things fall and break. She was very annoyed because a group of kids came in right after we did. She seemed to be much more concerned with everything besides the paying customers (us!) She continued to act as if we were giving her such a hard time because we asked for chocolates that were in the case at the front counter (right where you pay...) Perhaps there are friendlier workers but I have yet to see them. read more

I don't mind that this place doesn't have scoop-it-yourself candy b/c hey, I do not like boogery kids handling my goodies. ANY of my goodies. This place is crazy small so don't even bother to go inside if there are many cars in the lot. Wait for it to die down a bit and then venture in. They have everything from sweet, sour, chocolate, fruity, minty, fudge, nuts, imported, old-school, you name it. I have fun going in and getting the stuff from the 90's like WarHeads, fruit rolls, paint cans, etc. It's not expensive unless you buy the bigger packages of candy bags, or the imported stuff. This is my kids' favorite place (only place) to go to get candy when we're down the Cape. We've been coming here since my kids were toddlers and they are teenagers now. It's not an overly large place, but it is stuffed with all sorts of candy. There is a ton of flavors for their taffy. It is always fresh. There is a large selection of jelly bean flavors. They have new types of candy and blast from the past candy you have trouble finding. We never leave without getting one of their lobster lollipops. Great selection of candy although some of it was rather pricey. Lots of candy memorabilia like Star Trek and USA Presidents PEZ dispensers which was awesome. You must try the fudge if you make a stop here. There's a sign here that says "Cheap fudge is not good and good fudge is not cheap." We happened upon this place on our drive home. The colorful building drew my eyes in so we decided to quickly stop. As most have said, there is a lot to choose from, but all of it is in bulk. That means you are buying anywhere from $2-$3 worth of a single piece of candy. For us that wasn't a problem as we tend to only go with a couple types anyway; this was just an excuse to buy MORE of each. I must say, all of it was fresh. One of my favorites, that I feel nobody else likes or ever buys, is 'Bit O Honey'. As a result, they are, more often than not, hard has rocks. These were the perfect consistency, wonderfully chewy. My wife found some grapefruit slices, which seem to be pretty hard to find. The closest she usually gets is the orange slices which are much thicker, obviously not grapefruit, and therefor mostly disappointing. They also advertise 30 flavors of saltwter taffy. In my experience, this product can be hit or miss at any location. Unfortunately it was no exception here. Some of what I assume are the more popular flavors (chocolate, vanilla, peanutbutter, fluffernutter) were wonderfully soft and obviously fresh. Some of the fruity flavors were pretty hard; my wife called them 'crispy'. All in all the price was on par with saltwater taffy just about anywhere. The good pieces were quite good. The not so good pieces, well, they were not so good! The highlight of the store, for us, was the fudge. Allow me to strongly note that I am not generally a fan of fudge. We went with a piece of Almond Joy as well as Peanut Butter Chocolate. The almondJoy one had the flavor, but it was sort of falling apart due to how they layered it (coconut fudge, layer of just almonds, and chocolate fudge), but the peanut butter chocolate was to die for. It was soft as butter and had just a wonderful flavor. I actually wish I would have purchased more. All in all, a good stop, and one that I would make again next time we are in the area. There is so much to choose from one could literally buy a handful of new things every day and not run out of new treats for months! For those nostalgic about the "good old days", they also have some classic candies that I have only ever seen in super specialty shops. read more

While we were visiting we decided to stop here because they boast about having English candy. Well yes they do have English candy which I did buy some of. However we also encountered a obnoxiously rude manager. The store is laid out in such a way you can't tell where things begin and end. I noticed some bins behind an open counter accidently going beyond the sales floor. The girl behind the counter was nice and asked if there was something I needed. I said I was just looking and at that moment the manager said well you looked now get out and laughed. I guess he feels its ok to be rude and granted most of the people he deals with are just there for a visit. Which is partially true But Cape Cod is home to part of my family. I suppose you sort of get that here, but instead of free-range scooping, you get the bulk pre-packaged for you. Sad Face. The selection of rare, foreign and nostalgic candies is like no other. I absolutely love this store and it is always one of the main destinations on my cape cod itinerary. Have I died and gone to candy heaven? Loads of candy! Piles of candy! There is so much candy here I have to check if there is blood in my sugarstream when I leave. As others have stated the candy is organized neatly into different sections. They even have the UK and European versions of candy bars that aren't as easy to find. These items are probably the most fun to look at. Look to spend a bit of cash here. The prices are cheap but the quantities are so tempting you may end up buying more than you thought. The staff is friendly and the only slight issue for me this 2nd trip was a lot of kids there. This made the line a bit longer to get through. Then again, it is a candy shop. It's to be expected. I'd do zero stars if I could. I called to ask if anyone would know what was gluten free because my kid has celiac. They said no - which I completely understand. So I asked if an owner or manager was around to help with brand names (so I could research) and the unbelievably rude answer I got was "you're his mother so you should know what's gluten free." Me and my extended family will never ever give one dime to this shop. That kind of rudeness to a kid that has a disease is unacceptable. I haven't been here in years, but yesterday a friend and I took a day trip to the Cape and my friend wanted salt water taffy, so we stopped here.. VERY small shop with every kind of candy you can imagine crammed into it. Tons of candy you haven't seen since you were a kid and candy I'd never even heard of, I believe other countries versions of our candies.. Prices on the bags of candies, nuts, gum drops, etc were comparable with other places, the malted milk balls I bought for myself and the bridge mix I bought for my mom were both awesome.. very good quality chocolate.. the single candy bars were overpriced, you're paying for the nostalgia too.. The store was packed but the line moved fast, It was hard to see everything and I think if they had more space, they'd make more money.. It was so crowded that I pretty much grabbed what I wanted and got out, my friend did the same.. would have been nice to be able to browse.. enlarging the store would be a great asset and believe me, theres plenty of room to do it. The main reason for the 3 stars is because of the customer service.. The man that waited on me wasn't overly rude, but he sure wasn't friendly either and if there was another store that sold the same items, I'd choose that store over his. read more

We have come here 4 years in a row and the kids love it. The selection of candy is extensive and the fudge is good. Unfortunately on two separate occasions one of my kids had to use the bathroom. On both occasions we were told "sorry we don't have a bathroom." I understand if you don't allow non paying customers to use a bathroom, but when a 5 or 6 year old is dancing around to use the bathroom and the parents are holding $20+ worth of candy they are about to buy, thats just plain cold hearted. Your business caters to children but yet you refuse to let a child use the facilitates. We will be finding a different venue to replace this yearly vacation ritual. read more

I've been coming to the cape for years and have always bought candy here~ I won't go back after today I asked about rum cordials and a man who worked there snapped an answer at me in a very nasty tone and then he went into the back room. A very nice teenage girl was trying to ring up customers and wrap gifts while a long line formed. Mr Nasty would still not come out from the back room --the sales girl had to go and get him. He came out and was very condescending to her about the way she wrapped the gift and ripped the paper off and redid the wrapping I hope the man wasn't the owner of the shop ....He was between 55- 60 years old gray hair about 5'8" and rude ) There's no reason to be so miserable ~ a candy shop should be a happy place. read more
