I clarified that the time was before noon, not afternoon, and let him know I would find another provider for that service.

There were, however, some avoidable flaws that we now have to live with forever, in addition to repairs and issues with the owner so all together that deserves the lowest rating to serve as a warning. For context, this was a $300k Pool Project (overall) with over $200k of that going to OLG. OLG subs out the pool construction to a pool builder which is fine but he doesnt communicate or coordinate well with anyone which is where the problems come in. The pool contractor never reviewed the design that OLG came up with so we got stuck with a hot tub that was too big and a pool that was too small (both things we asked about before digging and were dismissed), no lighting under/inside the waterfall and a 6" slope on our patio which means our lounge chairs now lay at a reverse angle when flat which essentially means we can't lay them flat - all disappointing details that we have to live with. Additionally, we suffered through repairing a major leak twice just a few weeks after we finally opened the pool. I might add that we had to point out that we thought we had a leak. The grotto/waterfall had not been waterproofed properly - collaboration with the pool contractor could have avoided this but the owner of OLG thinks he already knows everything so he's not likely to collaborate. The first repair wasn't sufficient and so a second effort was needed. After more than a yearlong process, we lost much of the first summer and had to cancel two events at our home due to the leaks and having to drain the pool. We also asked to have lights added under the grotto/waterfall and that has been a nightmare that never ends and they finally told us they were done and wouldn't come back, even though the last installation of replacements (that we hope will last this time) we're not installed properly. We were overly patient with their process to replace the bad lights and now that puts us outside their warranty period so we are on our own. I understand they are tired of coming back and want to move on but it's not our fault that their initial workaround didn't hold up (or that we had leaks, etc.) Were it not for the arrogant and condescending attitude of the owner, we would have easily gotten over honest mistakes but anyone looking to hire OLG should simply be aware that while the owner presents himself as being a very organized and professional businessman, which does show well initially compared to many contractors, there is an arrogant and condescending underside to his professionalism and I found that came out rather quickly. And once it did, he wrote us off. Thankfully the foreman at the time was a great person and very competent (he has since left the company) so we were always able to work well with the on-site team. The owner never talked to us again and never even visited the completed job site to walk through the final outcome with us. This spoke volumes to us in the end. He missed out on an extra $80k in landscaping as we had originally planned to implement his design for the front/side yards and our front gate area. I was not willing to give him any more business at the end of the pool job. Unfortunately you need to consider the owner and his personality as part of your overall consideration when choosing a landscape or pool company. I'm sure there are customers who have had a good experience and for the right (landscaping only) job you might get out without any problems, but based on our overall experience, I would NOT recommend OLG at all, and especially not if you are building a pool. My project included planting sod in my backyard, building a grill station, a patio, landing deck, two raised garden beds, installing a gravel driveway, a privacy fence, and planting native plants around my front and side yards. The project manager (Ray) took the time to understand what I wanted and worked with me to come up with a creative design that fit my budget. They completed the project pretty much on schedule and with no surprises on the cost. It was not cheap but everything looked great. It has been a year and I am generally still pleased with the quality of the work. I have lost a few plants which they would not replace without an extra charge but everything still looks good. I would use them again.

We hired Total Lawn, Inc. after reading reviews on Nextdoor and Google to install sod (8 pallets)…read morefor us. The quote from late January included killing/removing old grass, light grading, use of manure, sand and topsoil to prep for sod installation. The total was $10,200 and change. We've never spent that much with one contractor on any work we've done to this home, this was a huge investment for us. I had a discussion with him on the day of the quote that I hoped the yard would not be bumpy and 'seamed' looking when they were finished and I was told it would "be smooth as glass," direct quote.  Great! The prepping was done on a Friday (a little over two weeks ago), all went really well. I remarked to him how great it all looked!  The sand, manure and topsoil were spread over the lightly graded front lawn, and rolled flat.  The sod was to be put down on the following Monday and Tuesday.  Bad weather for Friday night (the day the prep was done) had been in the forecast for days. I knew this, I assumed he had planned for it and knew, as a professional, if the work they were doing was appropriate given the forecast. I was wrong.  The entire yard was washed out, the sand, the manure and topsoil--most of it anyway (see pictures.)  I was not so concerned, at that point, because he was the professional and I felt sure this would be his issue to fix. I sent pictures and the reply was, "I was afraid of that."  I guess I should have then asked, "Then why didn't you wait?" but again, I felt he would handle the problem created by known, forecasted bad weather.  And again, I was wrong.  We were sent an invoice to pay an additional $500 of $635 to replace the sand, re-grade, and smooth out the yard again. I disputed this and told him we had not budgeted for it, but I was told it was my responsibility and he would not absorb the cost as prices had increased since the original quote and the job was already tight. Possible increases should, I believe, be factored into a quote that is given 2-3 months in advance. I guess not. I agreed to pay so the job would be finished and we would have a lawn, but I did so after saying none of it was our fault and I guessed we were just "screwed."   The re-grading of the yard did not look like the first grading. It was not as smooth as the first time, before the rain. When the sod was laid, it looked (looks) raggedy, uneven and full of seams, naturally. It looked nothing near 'smooth as glass.'  I told him it did not look as good and he was dismissive of my concerns.  Once the sod was laid, they rolled it and he has rolled once since then. The sod is still uneven, his comment was it is uneven due to different grass heights. I disagree with that. When he left he told me to call/text any questions. I had a few regarding irrigation and lawnmowers-which he gave us suggestions.  He told me, in what I perceived as a terse manner, that  I could hire someone if I wanted to monitor the moisture, he was not around to do that (which we never expected or asked.)  Then, he sent me a very unprofessional text message, after I asked about the irrigation in the one overly moist area of the yard.  This effectively ended our communications as I had never been spoken to like that by any contractor.  We are now on our own with our $10K lawn to figure out the future watering and as to what issues we might encounter or look for. We were given no instructions beyond the initial watering schedule and the name of a 'chemical guy.'I've since had a couple of other companies come out. They say, with work and patience, the grass will most likely survive. What appears to be a larger problem is the grading left a couple of low spots where water is accumulating with no way to escape. We will eventually need to go to the expense of having the lawn leveled so that it is not damaged by fungus or insects from being wet. Based on our experience, we could not recommend Total Lawn, given the unprofessional attitude towards me and the fact we paid in stress and dollars for poor planning and poor judgement. For our situation, we chose the wrong landscaper. Maybe others have had a different experience, maybe there were underlying causes we didn't know that led to the poor judgement with the weather. I do have texts which substantiate all that I've honestly written in this review. Take from this what you will. Since posting this review elsewhere, I've heard from others who've had a somewhat similar experience but have not left a review, unfortunately.

After we had our back deck replaced, Neal came in and completely redesigned our landscaping from the ground up. He worked with us to come up with a plan to address the persistent drainage issues we had been having in our yard including grading, French drains, and dry wells; he cut new flower beds and selected low-maintenance plantings for us that will look great year round; and he added hardscape to maximize the use of our yard and deck for us and our young kids. The results really speak for themselves, and his pricing was very reasonable. The best part about working with Total Lawn Inc. is that Neal is there from the design phase through the actual work. He doesn't show up to sell you a bunch of expensive yardwork and then disappear - Neal is on site every day working with his team during the actual install. His expertise and experience was apparent throughout the process. He even went above and beyond in helping manage and assuage a difficult and intrusive neighbor! It was a joy to work with him, and I would strongly recommend him to anyone needing any sort of landscape work.

Instead of walking away and giving me a refund they just slow played the project, took my money, and ignored all attempts to find a solution. Yes, the company name has changed. No, their advertised physical address is not a real place of business. Yes, you will get very familiar with the Secretary of State website. If you do decide to ignore my advice, make sure you have their business license, contractor license, and a verified mailing address from the start. At least it will save you a few hours a year from now when you start exploring legal options. For the internet record this company was previously known as Jeremiah's Landscape Services, as of August 2023 it is called Southern Landscaping Solutions.

His employees are nice, but Jeremiah won't respond to calls or texts, and he won't show up for appointments even if you can get him to make one. I'm also pretty sure he faked selling his company in order to get out of his agreement with us. If he's still in business today, then that's exactly what he did. If you're in talks to hire him - take this as your warning.
